This was a gift for my husband, he had his eye on this one for some time ... he did all of the research ... it has the most bells and whistles for my price range ... perfect for our home theatre system !!! I love being able to connect Pandora wirelessly and it makes using different inputs a breeze ... for someone who isn't tech savvy at all!

I replaced my old Kenwood receiver.
I had no idea what I had been missing with surround sound.
I have 4 satellite speakers and a subwoofer. I picked the 7 channel for when I move. I may up grade to 2 more satellite speakers and didn’t want to have to upgrade.
I am amazed in how much sound I have been missing with my outdated receiver.

I replaced an aging Onkyo receiver with this new unit, regaining the fidelity I was missing. It had all the connections I needed except for analog 5.1 surround from my Pioneer Elite SACD player. I had been using my smart TV for a central switching device but went back to using the receiver which is the way things are supposed to be.

I am using a 5.1 Polk Audio system which works wonderfully. The only problem I have had is switching from the smart tv apps to the Samsung blue ray player. Xbox and tv apps sound great. New cent er speaker doesn't hurt either

Love the Bluetooth capabilities, and the setup process using the mic to set the proper speaker distances was nice. I haven't quite found the sweet spot for the best sound, but I'm still combing through all the settings. There is an impressive amount of configuration options, like setting the LFE crossover point, loss recovery (for lossy formats like mp3), and settings for quieter night watching versus louder full sound. I wasn't that impressed with the Heos app, which just appears to be sort of similar iheartradio. The amount of power it pushes out is impressive. My bass literally rattles the walls.

I bought this to upgrade from a 5.1 system to a 7.2 system. I read a lot of negatives about it not having a manual, but it's very user friendly and guides you on screen. Sounds great and I love it. Highly recomended.

Product performed well and was fairly easy to setup, but after 6 months device completely failed (garbled sound, no video out to projector) and is now in process for warranty repair. You have to pay for shipping and wait 3-6 weeks (nice during College Bowl and Basketball season).

Amazing! Spend a few minutes in the setup wizard and enjoy. Plenty of preset sound options but if you feel the need to get your geek on you will be happy with all the tweak options. Connected flawlessly with Google home and Sony TV. I have it connected at 7.2 and it knocks my house off its foundation. Love it!
If your in the market, pull the trigger on this unit!

I've been shopping receivers for some time. Needed to replace an older HK 7.1 and this thing checked all the boxes (and then some). Sounds great, east to setup, and the best feature is something I didn't expect. My wife hates having to "turn everything on" in order to watch TV. This receiver allows you to run everything through it and, when powered off, allows the last video source to still drive the TV. In other words, when I am done with XBOX, Fire, Apple TV, etc I simply select Cable and shut the receiver off. FiOS feed passes through and my wife can watch TV with having to power up NASA.

I've always loved Denon products. I got my receiver on sale which was a bonus when I went to revise my home theater. I am using mine in a 7.1 configuration. For 4k 10 bit (HDR) make sure you enable the extended range on each input. I don't know why these manufacturers can't automatically enable this mode when it sees a 10bit signal coming in. 4k is very finicky for those that don't know, and yes cheap cables will sometimes block you from getting full bandwidth. Get good quality 4k HDMI cables to eliminate any guesswork on why something's not working. The industry as a whole should have revised how they handle 4k content, HDR content, wide color gamut, chroma, bits per pixel,etc...it's like the wild west right now so study online so you know what you're getting into.
I really enjoy the 7.1 surround and would like to get some Atmos speakers. With this amp you can only power 7 speakers, so Atmos setup would be 5.1 with 2 overhead (5.1.2). Wished the 9.1 amps were cheaper, then I could run 7.1.2 or 5.1.4.
