This is about my 9th home theater receiver, I have always gone with Sony. However this time around the store advisor told me based on my system I shall try Denon, he said you are going to get so much more power for the same price. Oh my god was he right or what I am so happy I listened. He told me hey try it if you don't like it you have plenty days to return it however I am not returning it it is the best receiver, for the best price I ever had and it has 8 HDMI inputs I have not found any othe receiver brand with so many HDMI inputs and I love it

When plugged into some good shelf speakers, this stereo really rocks -- it's well-engineered and powerful. It's also quite versatile because it supports so many audio sources. The Bluetooth only supports SBC unfortunately, so aptX Low Latency is missing, and I had to buy a dongle to get low latency audio with my computer. My worst complaint however is that the user interface is quite counterintuitive. You MUST follow the guided setup for this stereo or it basically doesn't work. Trying to set up the inputs on your own will result in failure. So you have to connect it to a TV and use the guided setup. That's a little unfortunate.

It takes a lot to impress me now-a-days and this receiver has hit all the right notes. Mostly. After recently buying a 4K Blu-Ray player to go with my now 1 year old 75 inch 4K TV, I decided to jump all the way in with 4K sound too. I'm sure you've read the specs as did, I so you know on paper what this receiver can do. The wireless setup was easy with the on screen display which was uncluttered and effective. Dolby Atmos is almost unbelievable. At the beginning of Hacksaw Ridge, Dolby Atmos does a demo similar to but many times better than the old THX going from speaker to speaker. (My setup- 2 floor Klipsch mains, 4 infinity bookshelf surrounds & center & a 12 inch Sony powered sub). I've never heard recorded sound with that clarity and precision. The movie sound? You are just going to have to experience it for yourself... Yes, it is expensive, but if you are reading this, you understand. I spent roughly 3 hours configuring everything, including my TV and Harmony One remote, components, and running the Audessy microphone speaker program. It was definitely worth the effort. This beast also cleans up my cable and streaming video signals (Roku), both look better on my TV now. Negatives? A couple. There is no dedicated phono input, a lot of us still like our vinyl so...some other input will have to do. The few RCA inputs it does have are "assignable" with no instructions on how to "assign them" meaning downloading the nonexistent manual. (I assume). For now that means no CD player, no iPod & no albums. If these all had HDMI outputs, no problem there's plenty if inputs-8 of them. The phone should work with Bluetooth but not the headphone jack (yet). There are other options/brands that are lower priced with similar features. My previous receiver is also a Denon which has worked flawlessly (in another part of the house now) and ultimately made my decision to go with this one. If you are on the fence, I would suggest landing on this side.

Love my series 8 TV, I have an 82" and a 55". I found that these are better than the Qled. I love the series 8 because the colors are crisp and you can get a perfect hd picture, day or night.

The receiver is fairly priced vs competition. It seems to have a, IMO, cumbersome process that will shutdown the system for an update. You can setup the system to do this automatically, though. A real issue is that it seems to overload at times and shuts off. I’m sure it’s due to being a mid tier level and operating at higher volume levels. It’s only happened twice over a year but that’s still worth noting.

I bought a Sony Receiver back in 1995ish, and that has better sound than this receiver does. Also, trying to save AM radio stations on this (I listen to talk radio a lot- which the satanusts on this planet are doing ALL they can to get rid of- and it looks like the people that make this receiver ARE some of them) IS "REALLY" HARD!! It has AM radio, but ANY button you hit IMMEDIATELY changes the radio to FM, and getting back to AM takes A FEW STEPS to get back to- and you HAVE to figure it out, there is NOTHING in the manual that tells you how to do this. I'm ONLY keeping this because NO receivers have AM radio anymore (for the reasons I stated above- "the satanusts" trying to hand this world over to lucifur...), otherwise I would have already returned it.
