Only 1 port handles 4K@120

Quality receiver. Excellent audio output, which is a huge upgrade from my previous Onkyo. Great features Looks like a standard receiver, nothing fancy. Upscales lower resolutions like 480i/p. Onscreen display is a bit overwhelming; I'd like to have a volume indicator that doesn't take up so much screen real estate.
I bought this with 4K@120hz gaming in mind, to use with my new LG C1. Unfortunately, you can only use one specific HDMI port for 120hz. So, if you're like me, and you have a Series X and PS5, you're only able to run one of them at 4K@120 at a time, unless of course you plug the consoles directly into the TV and use the receiver for sound only... That kind of defeats the purpose of having the receiver, though.
This is not made clear in any of the spec sheets or material provided by the manufacturer. I had to dig around to find this info. Denon really needs to make this clear for customers. I assumed that all HDMI 2.1 ports could handle 4K@120 based on what I read on the manufacturers product listing.
If you only have one of the current gen consoles, or don't care about 120hz, then I can easily recommend this receiver. I'm running a 5.1 setup and it sounds amazing; it's night and day difference from my older Onkyo. You can also transmit Bluetooth and use headphones or earbuds when you want to keep quiet when the rest of the house is asleep.
All in all, worth the purchase. I just wish there were multiple ports for 120hz gaming.

Amazing receiver which pushes 3.1 Bowers and Wilkins speakers I purchased. Easy to install and it has a easy setup guide that will help you along the way. TV, movies, games, and music sound amazing. Wish I would have done this many of years ago. Hooks up to your network with ease as well. Will never go back to soundbar ever again.

Bought specifically for HDMI 2.1 & my PS5 . It works seamlessly through the erac input on my LG CX . I replaced an outdated Pioneer and it drives my in ceiling speaker setup and sub much better. Definitely a must for gamers and at its price point a good deal.

This is a cheap receiver but having had both the 4700 and 6700 it's not that far off. Sound is not as good, features are not as good, but it is also much, much cheaper. This is a great deal.

I purchased this Denon AVR-X2700H receiver after receiving a defective Yamaha receiver, which I returned for an Onkyo receiver, which was also Defective. Returned it and gave the Onkyo a 2nd chance and ordered another one. It was also defective (what are the odds of getting 3 defective receivers in a row??). I ended up ordering this Denon receiver directly from Denon, got a fantastic price with an additional $50 discount (January, 2023) . Maybe they are coming out with a newer model? In any event, this receiver is phenomenal! Super easy setup. They automatic surround sound programming is the best of any receiver I've owned (about 8 over the past 15 or so years). The features included with this receiver are amazing. The HEOS app works flawlessly as well as the Denon Remote Control app on my phone. The sound is outstanding through my in ceiling Klipsch speakers and floor standing Klipsch sub woofer. I'm super impressed with everything about this receiver.

Adequate but not great - NO upscaling to HDMI

I bought this receiver to as the center of my "legacy room" for LP's, cassette tapes, video tapes, and DVD's. Setup was very easy but I was disappointed when I wanted to hook some legacy component and composite videos sources - they are NOT upscaled to the HDMI output. It has to be passed thru to the component and composite outputs. I learned a lesson to carefully read the manual first before buying. Rather than deal with the hassles of returning the unit I am living with its failings.
Other than the annoyance of no upscaling, the receiver does it job as expected. It is an adequate low to mid range receiver suitable for most users. Users looking for higher quality with input upscaling and flexibility should look elsewhere.

Fairly easy to setup, the on screen instructions are clear and easy to follow. The speaker room calibration works well. I have a Nvidia shield and xbox inputs, and output to a LG 4k tv with no communication problems. Sound is being output to 3.1.2 klipsch speaker setup. Will eventually get rear surrounds for 5.1.2. Atmos works great and fills out the room. The Heos app isn't very user friendly for music but not needed if using Spotify. I found Tidal does need to run through Heos in order to communicate with the receiver unless you want to go through bluetooth.
The sound and build quality are great and I'm overall impressed. There are a few little bugs I haven't figured out, like when turning everything off (usually tv/receiver) they will turn off then the receiver turns itself back on and I have to turn it off again. Or sometimes zone two will turn itself on when I have no zone two output. Also, all of the different sound mode options can be a little confusing and overwhelming at first but I've since figured out what modes I like the best

Difficult set-up not plug-in play

Physical set-up was easy. Installed with a 5.1 Klipsche surround system. However, once powered on for the first time the pleasant experience quickly faded away into frustrating, non-sensical and clunky software set-up experience that left me wondering if one of the HDMI ports is actually broken on delivery along with a confused Denon firmware that also thinks a properly wired Klipsche center channel speaker is phase reversed when it actually doesn't appear to be so (so the calibration process continually gets an error).
My set up is fairly non-complicated: just 5.1 speakers hardwired, a ps4 and 2019 LG C9 OLED. We're using high quality and high speed HDMI cable w/ethernet.
After everything plugged in, first boot would not show the Denon set-up on the TV and we could not get it to without 4 hours of trial and error and fiddling in the TV menus and changing HDMI ports. I first attempted to plug in the ps4 into the "game" HDMI port "in" on the Denon receiver and the Denon ARC out to the TV's HDMI port 2 (ARC). Every time I selected the Denon device through TV HDMI 2 port (where it was plugged in) it auto started the ps4, but no video from ps4 passed through Denon, nor any audio. The Denon software set-up screen also did not appear on the TV.
The solution was multifaceted. Updated Denon firmware and verified TV firmware was updated. Then plug the PS4 into ANY other HDMI port than the officially labeled "game" HDMI port (which appears to be faulty - not fully faulty because CEC on TV can still trigger the PS4 to turn on, just not provide video or sound passthrough) on the Denon. Then turn off the C9s CEC option for HDMI. Then change the C9 TV's audio out for HDMI to passthrough and turn eARC on.
After getting video to the TV for the Denon set up, calibration was a breeze other than having a non-sensical error regarding our center channel phase that was confirmed to be wired properly. We have a friend with a Denon AVR-x2600H and he has the same issue with Klipsche center channel, so something about Denon receivers and Klipsche center channels don't play nice.
After getting everything set up, audio through ps4 still wouldn't auto switch from stereo to any of the supported surround options. We had to change the HDMI setting to "enhanced." Once set to enhanced, the ps4 sent proper surround audio to the receiver.
None of the above was explained in any detailed user manual and none of it was explained by Denon's troubleshooting pages and none of it was explained by online tutorials. We literally just had to figure it out by HOURS of frustrating trial and error.
We still have the issues of the center channel confusion on the Denon/Kipsche center channel and non-video and non-audio functioning "game" HDMI input on the Denon. So most def. not a trouble free experience and user information to help is extremely sparse. My recommendation is to have a experienced home theater buff help you with Denon set-up (for those DIYers out there) and its not user friendly (the software is, but getting the software screen visible is not).
Other than the issues above, our settings now seem to be holding and the audio experience is fantastic. Unit might still need to be returned due to possibly malfunctioning Denon HDMI game port input (#5) however, which is extremely disappointing.

This unit was not worth the money. Very Disappointed. Could not connect the Outside Speakers separately from inside unit.
Unfortunately-you would have to buy an extra unit to do that.
Great Sound, Easy once set up.
These units should have Speakers A and Speakers B; and be able to use outside speakers only-separate from the inside unit.
Example, Listen to Pandora outside on speaker A. And then still use the TV inside. Or Listen only outside and turn off inside Speaker B.

The Denon AVR-X2700H was installed by Geek Squad techs along with several new components for my upgraded home AV system. It replaced an old Yamaha receiver. It functions as advertised and is quite user friendly. Being up to date, it benefits from 7 HDMI inputs, which simplify connectivity. The near 100W is more than sufficient to handle my 5.0 surround setup. The Bowsers speaker setup process is awesome and did a great job optimizing the sound for my room. The 4K and 8K video processing pretty much future proof this unit. Couldn't be happier with the final result.

Up to date home theater receiver. Clean sound. Good power. Easy access speaker terminals in a single horizontal rear row make it easier to hook up the wires, and tags included to mark your wires. It plays better quality lossless flac audio files from USB or cast from a PC, or the usual MP3. Printed quick start guide is very simplistic and the rest of what you need to know for general operation is online. Unit runs somewhat warm and needs generous space for heat dissipation. Built in speaker level adjustment with included mic.

My first AVR so not a lot to compare it to. So far my experience has been good. Movies and music sound great, sometimes rear speakers get boosted a little too loud with Audissey. I have 5.1 system hooked up and it gets plenty loud with 6ohm speakers and a 4ohm center speaker.

Denon 2700h
This receiver is awesome!!! I choose the 2700 because it had every feature that I wanted to use such as the HDMI 2.1 ports for (gaming) 8k (future proof) DOLBY ATMOS!! This receiver can also steam music apps such as pandora, Spotify,XM which I use daily!!! Since having it installed by the geek squad .. I definitely have been enjoying the 7.1 surround sound and I must say… it is what I have been missing to complete my system!!! Thank you for all the associates who help me with my selection!!!
