    Striking SteelBook art, good movie!

Really enjoyed this movie! SteelBook art is way more appealing to me than the regular release. This second attempt arrived packed in a box in flawless condition (online order.) The first one was sent in a bubble envelope - the case was bent over iPhone style from shipment. Completely ruined, easy return at the local store, then tried one more time. No problems now!

Strong follow up to the Shining

This movie had big shoes to fill by following up the classic The Shining but it does fairly well at what it set out to accomplish. The Director's cut is the superior version of the film here. Unfortunately it is not on the 4K disc, you only get the director's cut here on 1080P Blu-Ray. Hopefully this will be corrected in the future.

    Epic Director's Cut

The 3-hour director's was epic on a Forrest Gump type scale. It lulls at some points, but a phenomenal ride all in all. If you can sit through a 3-hour movie, you will love watching this story unfold. It doesn't have a crappy ending that ruins the whole movie either. I definitely recommend this. I haven't tried to watch the theatrical version.

I didn't see this in the theater. Wasn't feeling it. I was wrong. It's an excellent film. The director's cut is what I recommend you watch first. The DC is only on the 2k Blu-ray, which is too bad, but it's a great film. This is a combination of being a sequel to the Kubrick Film and the original King novel. You can have it both ways with this movie.

The Steelbook is great! The movie is a really good sequel to The Shining. My only problem is I wasn't aware that there wouldn't be a Bluray of the theatrical cut with the special features. There is a bluray of the director's cut though. The 4K only has the theatrical cut. Which is a bummer because I don't have a 4K TV. I'll deal though because the digital copy has both cuts of the movie and the special features. So, I'm good for now; until I eventually get a 4K TV and 4K bluray player.

A worthy sequel to the Shining. Danny Torrence (Doc) is all grown up and learning to cope with his 'Shinning'. Meanwhile we meet a cult traveling the country collecting the 'steam' from those who have the 'shine, led by Rose the Hat, a new kind of monster. Circumstances eventually lead us back to the Overlook hotel, 40 years after Doc left the place.

This amazing movie was an excellent sequel to the Hollywood classic. I had originally seen the first one when I was a kid however I did not understand it that well. Now I very much understand it and I see how he had powers and I get why they call him Dr. sleep it’s a great movie and everybody should watch it except for children.

This was way better than what people think about this movie, I love how it continues with the people from the shinning and how it brings it back to the hotel and the ending of the movie which I really loved which brings it to a total end.

I love this book. I think it’s the second best adaption of Stephen King after It chapter one. This version comes with a directors cut, which is close to verbatim retelling of the book. You should watch The Shining before as there is some shared scenes and connections that are important. Overall I liked both versions, but prefer the directors cut.

Great film, great cast, incredible acting, very impressive & surprisingly well crafted film. Very few film directors I’m a fan of and Falnagan is certainly on that list after this movie. Didn’t think it was possible to fill those shoes but watching the film felt like he brought back Kubrick to life just phenomenal work...

Nothing can quite top The Shining

Stanley Kubrick's first 1980s film is a spooky masterpiece. The sequel film, like its predecessor, is based on a Stephen King book. They are stories and Doctor Sleep manages to make itself involved with T.S. while finding its own path, its own story. The gypsy woman with the black hat is my favorite character in a film in some time.

"Doctor Sleep" is a fairly surprising effective sequel to "The Shining" that primarily focuses on the unique world of individuals who have the "shining" all the while connecting events that happened in the previous film. The 4K release is very good with the theatrical presentation with regards to the video and audio to be excellent. The only drawback is the director's cut of the film is only available on Blu-ray. But the presentation and paclage overall is very good.

Great flick! Wonderful follow-up to The Shining. Just be aware, unfortunately, that the directors cut, which is the better version in my opinion, is only available online as part of the "digital copy". I have no idea why this was done, and frankly, not happy about it. Would prefer to see it on the disc in 4k as well.

Having recently watched The Shining it was great to see this follow-up movie despite being many years later. The story adds more to The Shining and the cast was great (great job finding actors the looked and sounded like the original characters). Not sure why the director's cut was only on blu-ray but at least with the digital copy it is in 4k

Considering Stephen King wrote this sequel, I at least figured it would be in line with the story telling of the first movie. But not only was it a good sequel, the Director also did a good job repairing some of the story telling liberties that Kubrick took to fashion the Shining into his movie. Definitely re-watchable, just like the Shining

I would by long if I said I was huge fan of the original film - The Shining. That being said, I enjoyed it and was intrigued when I learned that this sequel was forthcoming. Now that it is out, I can say, I was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked it! In my opinion, it is better in a lot of ways than the first film. Highly recommend.

I bought Doctor Sleep because I loved The Shining as a Kid! Little Danny Torrance is all grown up now, and has been fighting his own personal demons his whole life. He has the gift of The Shining, meaning He has special powers. Unfortunately, there are others that want to steal his "shine" and He must fight to protect it. Great Movie!

when I first saw this movie, it was at the IMAX theater and this movie has SOUND! When I saw it was on sale at Best Buy, I was hoping it would sound just as good on my home theater, and it did!!! Not only does it sound good, but the story is interesting as well. You have these people that look for the essence from children that keep them alive for centuries, kind of like vampires. its a good sequel to the shining. A worth while purchase.

I enjoyed this movie quite a bit more than I expected to. I’m a big fan of The Shining and I just knew there was no way it could live up to it. And while it doesn’t quite meet that, is pretty dang entertaining. We watched the directors cut, so I cannot speak for the theatrical cut.

My friend and I watched this for Halloween. I haven't read the book, but my friend has and we both enjoyed this movie. We thought it tied neatly into the story of the Shining. There was one scene involving a baseball player we could have done without but overall it thrilling without being overly gory.
