I have very picky ears, and equally picky eyes. So I have to have speakers that not only sound great, but look fantastic, too. The svelte Mythos One is absolutely beautiful. Unlike typical floor standing speakers, the Mythos One blends in beautifully with my home's interior. It is unobtrusive and matches perfectly with my 52" flat panel Sony TV and other furniture. I have my receiver set up so that only frequencies 80Hz and above are sent to the Mythos One. Frequencies 80Hz and below are sent to my Definitive Technology Supercube II subwoofer. The Mythos ONe has 5.25" woofers enclosed in a narrow, low volume aluminum case, so I never expected it to reproduce the lower frequencies to my satisfaction. . I tried setting my crossover to less than 80Hz, and I was not happy with the result. 80Hz is the magic crossover number for my room and personal taste. The Mythos One really sings when set up properly. With the setup I described above, the mids and highs coming from my Mythos One speakers are incredibly clear and lifelike at any volume level. I use these speakers 90% of the time for music, and 10% for movies. I could listen to music for hours and hours, but my ears would never get fatigued because the speakers have a laid back sound quality. It can be loud when required, like when watching action movies. I'm extremely happy with these speakers. It met both my aesthetic and sound quality requirements. A good quality subwoofer, like the Definitive Technology Supercube series subwoofers, is a must though. My "sound quality" rating of 5 stars is for frequencies 80Hz and above only.

I looked and listened to several speakers for a couple of weeks ,had to make sure I picked out the right ones for my space (as we all do.) The look,feel,and sound had to be just right. The turning point for me on picking the Mythos was the day I brought with me a Jonny Lang CD into the store and "cranked it " on the Mythos,I was sold on them. Well done Definitive Technology...

We purchased this speaker about 2 months ago. We absolutely love the sound clarity. The quality is top notch, and we are very happy with our purchase. It's a great floor speaker for the cost!
