This fan works great and is easy to clean. Fan noise is the same as a bladed fan.

Fantastic heater for the room in our house that can’t seem to keep warm in the winter. Advice: Don’t run it all day/night regardless of its auto-off feature. Dust and overuse can lead to “H2 Error” which may force you to get it repaired or, in my case, request a replacement from Dyson. Besides for that, it is truly worth every dollar of its $500 price tag.

The AM09 is an oscillating, remote-controlled, heater. Period. The heating elements, I believe, are on the sides of the oval 'output shaft' however when the heat is on the sides do not get hot. They are warm to the touch though not a safety concern. Like other remote-controlled heaters, this can also function as a general fan. This is labeled as a 'cooling' feature. Know, though, that there is no cooling mechanism, i.e. a compressor, to actually cool the air. Simply by circulating room-temperature air it will in general lower the degrees a bit -- just like any other fan. There are no blades present where the air outflows from. This is done from the rotating turbine in the base. It is very similar to an airplane turbine however the blades here are of different size (like a cone drill bit) and it directs the air up to the top.

Kind of pricey but works as advertised. Thinking of purchasing another one.

You can't buy a better room heater/fan with all the features this one comes with for the price. Quiet, fully automatic, stylish and safe to used. It is a highly talked about item when I have friends and guest over. I love it.

Far Exceeded Expectations!! This unit makes weird noises the first time it starts up and from then on it works fantastic. Heats up a whole room fast quiet, and evenly. We could not be happier with this purchase

Love my heater cooler fan. Living in Florida, I use the fan almost year round. I set it before going to bed, and set timer to turn off in morning. We just had our first "cold" snap, so I used heater in morning to take the chill off while getting out of shower. Worked great for that purpose. I like having one item for both uses. Downfall is it's pricey.

I like the magnetic remote control. The temp sensor helps energy conservation. The fan stops when the desired temp achieved. Nice for small space heater. We'll see how it performs when the summer comes.

Have been looking for space heater that would warm a general area rather than just an immediate narrow space; and, have safety features to protect against overheating and shut-off trigger if unit is knocked over. This heater has that level of safety, plus no exposed heating grid for little fingers to find. Can adjust temperature of unit and can leave airflow in stationary position or automatically rotate from side to side. A really adaptable unit. Haven't tried the cooling feature yet, but other owners have said that it produces a good, silent wave of cool air. We are impressed with its technology, construction and performance.

I have a poorly zoned apartment which causes my roommate to turn the heat off in the middle of the night, causing me to wake up with it being as cold as 45 degrees Fahrenheit in my room, got this and problem solved. Cold function is decent, but don't expect an air conditioner.

Very cool design, and works well to heat one small room. I'm happy with it for the design features, but must admit that there are less expensive options that I think would do just as well. Still, glad I bought this.

Overall a great heater, but when you are far from heater it is cold

Although the cost of this fan is hefty, I found the functions to be numerous and efficient. The highest setting on the fan is not comparable to heavy duty fans with blades, but given that I didn’t buy it for this function, I am completely satisfied. The heater also works great and I love that it turns on or off based on the set temperature. I would guess the oscillating function is about 45 degrees. I also like that you can focus the air or diffuse it for more coverage, but I find there is a small gap when you choose to diffuse the air. For this I have it a four instead of a perfect 5.

Expensive but worth every penny. This is only one of probably 10 that we have purchased for our home, condo and offices. Unbelievably quite, enables you to keep cool while not effecting others.
