This is my second Dyson, the first one being purchased back in 2011 and I loved it. I decided to trade it in after a long 13 years and I've regretted it every single day. If I didn't know better, I'd say it feels like I received a prototype version of this vacuum. Very little on it feels good to use or anything that resembles a quality product. Everyone else in my house that has tried it finds it frustrating to use as well. I ended up getting a robot vacuum and only use this for random areas around my house. Likes: - Suction strength is great. There's no denying that and it does what it needs to. - The accessories it comes with are a nice touch. There's an attachment for every need. - The ball design Dysons are most known for truly make this the most maneuverable vacuum I've ever used. Dislikes: - The power button is "soggy" for lack of a better word. It doesn't click on or off and I have to push it multiple times for it to register and turn the vacuum off. - The kickstand wheels used for pushing the vacuum around (like when you are trying to put it away in a closet) are flimsy. The wrong angle or going over a rug will force the kickstand wheels to collapse. There's a very thin sweet spot to get the wheels to stay in place, but any slight bump will dislodge them. - The eject button on the dust canister requires at least a dozen pushes to open the bottom. The plastic piece that triggers the bottom to open just bends in place. I tried to empty the canister before I took the picture for this review but got sick of trying. - Reconnecting the handle to where it inserts is a nightmare every single time. You have to get the perfect angle for it to fit first, and then you have to give it some real pressure to get it to go into place (usually it involves hitting it with an open palm which doesn't feel great on my hand). - It randomly makes a bizarre noise that I can only describe as similar to when you let the air out of a balloon. I've wiped down every rubber connector and it still makes the noise. Overall: - Vacuuming is already chore, so it really says something that using the vacuum itself is an even bigger chore. I avoid using it all costs and I'm already shopping for a replacement and it's not even a year old. I liked the Dyson brand prior to this vacuum, but I doubt I will ever reconsider them after this.

Buy this model! Don’t buy the Animal 3! I purchased the Animal 3 first and returned it. The Animal 3 is so hard to push that is was hurting my shoulder. It also didn’t revitalize the carpet pile as well as this model. This model is just a far better machine. Its easier to push and gives you those beautiful Dyson vacuum lines. It also comes with a ton of attachments!

This Dyson rocks. We have the smaller handheld version which is great as well. But this is much powerful and does the job more efficiently when you need to do your monthly cleanings. As opposed to the handheld which is for smaller and upkeep times. Can’t be the reliability and customer service from this company either. Wish I got this sooner. Picks up dirt like a champ and does it quieter than others I’ve used. But the biggest difference is the way it smells clean as well. That HEPA filter helps keep the dirt from going in the air. Lastly, the detachable hand is great for those cobwebs and dust for hard to reach places. Can’t stress the ease of that. And surprisingly it’s not as heavy as I thought it would be. So going up and down the stairs is not too much of an hassle. I can carry it with one hand by simply grabbing the ergonomic handle in the middle and let it just ride without bending and that’s the trick really.

Very power suction. Easy to assemble. Long power cord. Easy to empty bin. Quieter than my older vacuum. The only negative is no led light in the front to shine on the floor and only one accessory holder, wish it had multiple. Great vacuum overall.

Awesome vacuum cleaner, that's so much more than just a "vacuum cleaner". More accessory attachments than the Jedi have tricks up their sleeves. Very well thought out and is bagless, I didn't even know there was such a thing. Fantastic power that puts my older vacuum to shame. Buy one for your wife, she should Not hate it and ask for a divorce.

I have to say this Dyson Ball allergy plus is so much better than the Dyson Ball. 3. This still has the agitator that vibrates the carpet to help loosen dirt. Also, it works beautifully on carpets area rugs and bare floor glides smoothly. I just wish Dyson would continue to make this vacuum definitely returning my ball animal 3 to Sam's club

We are very happy with this vacuum. It works amazingly well, you can literally see it lift the carpet a little as you go over it slowly. No need to adjust height as it does it automatically. Also very simple to switch the head unit for a bare floor attachment and it works spectacularly!!

Ive had a few of these dyson ball upright vacuums and I have enjoyed using them very much. Inam not crazy about the plastic parts so much but they have lasted a fairly good time. I think that they are expensive given that they only last so long befor you need a new one.

Upgraded from our 10-year-old Dyson, and it was definitely time. The suction on this model is excellent, and it’s a great vacuum for the price.

I picked this up on sale at an excellent price. Bright it home and put it straight to work. The suction is impressive. I was pleasantly surprised, if not a little grossed out, by the amount of loose dirt and dust lifted out of my carpet in addition to the pet hair, lint, and larger soils like leaves and hay straws (I have small pets who eat hay). The downsides and why this isn't a 5-star product for me are, firstly, no included tool storage. As far as I can tell, there's nowhere on the main unit to affix smaller, commonly used attachments. There's also no bag or caddy included in the box for all of the attachments, of which there are several. The included attachments add to value and versatility, but for the price, the inclusion of some kind of storage should be part of the package. The vacuum is also quite loud, noticeably louder than the Hoover it replaced. While not a problem for me, I can see the weight posing some challenges for some people. The last thing isn't to do so much with the product itself, but it's not listed or is no longer listed on Dyson's main site, so it'll probably be hard to locate support, additional accessories, and spare parts known to be compatible without contacting Dyson directly. Overall, great vacuum that could be better with some minor tweaks to the packaging and presentation.

I have never had a Dyson before so I was excited to find an affordable one for my new house. It was easy to unbox and get started. However, I am disappointed that it is kind of heavy to move around, it has no retractable cord, and there is ony 1 space for attaching anything to it. With that said, I love how much dirt and hairs it picked up. It works beautifully like a vacuum should. It is a little loud but overall were happy

Have been using Dyson products for 40+ years and this sweepers technology keeps customers coming back. My last Big Ball Animal upright lasted 20+ years and still works but the hoses are dried out and cracking. The suction on this new unit are impressive and exceeds the competition so I'm not sure anything else needs to be said, The maneuverability has improved over previous models and you don't need to manually adjust the cleaning head for floor types like the Ball Animal 3 and other Dyson upright models require now. This sweeper does a great job at picking up dog hair and anything else on the floor.

We came from a very overpriced Robo vac and we have a toddler who likes to throw food and make confetti out of paper. I was working at the time, but I sent my wife and told her to show the salesman the carpet and ask what would fix it. This is the vacuum he recommended, but it was sold out at the time. So he sold her the slightly cheaper orange version instead. It was a good vac. Then days later, this vac went on sale for half off and it was in stock. My wife told me it's the one she wanted originally, so we ordered it. This one is WAY more powerful than the orange one. Even the head is noticeably bigger. This one is very good at picking things up, but it's not perfect. You gotta plug it up, it's heavy and it's insanely loud. These are things to take into consideration, but they're valid tradeoffs. To be as powerful as it is, you have to plug it it in and it will be loud and heavy on account of the motors.

This Dyson replaces an old cheap vacuum that was having issues. THE GOOD: +Strong suction picked up a lot of dust that the old vacuum left behind +Easy to maneuver with the ball and rollers +Easy to remove/reattach collection canister +Less likely to get caught up on carpet threads than others +Reasonably quiet +Plenty of attachments for versatile cleaning options THE BAD: -Assembly instructions were very limited. Some parts snap into place, others slide into place which was not well documented. -For such an expensive heavy vacuum, the lightweight plastic stick portion feels flimsy and cheap. -The upright locking mechanism doesn't feel as secure as it could. Overall, I rate it good because it works better than any other vacuum I've used however the plastics and tricky assembly are worth noting.

Love that it has great suction, but I was afraid I was going to have to return it because I was exhausted after I had finished vacuuming my small condo. This is not new carpet either! I googled to see if there was a solution and found I was not the only one with this same problem. Dyson, you need to pay that guy on the video!! Problem solved by putting two rubber washers on the floating doohickey thing! Otherwise this is a good solid vacuum. It is quite heavy though. This is replacing a Dyson I had for a number of years. Little pricey and I would never pay full price! I got it on sale at Best Buy.

I bought this machine to replace my 19 year old Dyson DC14 vacuum which finally quit. I thought that this (ball) construction would be easier to maneuver than my DC14, but so far I have not been able to fully get used to it (I've had it now for a couple of months or so and use it at least once a week). It does not bend and maneuver like their stick vacuums (I also have a V11). But it sure does a great job removing cat fur, dust and dirt from our rugs and linoleum. I would recommend this to anyone who may need a good vacuum for allergy issues.

It was time to replace my old vacuum and I’m glad I bought this Dyson. I absolutely love it. It has ample attachments, it picks EVERYTHING up! And I love how nice it looks, looks fancy.

The best pet and allergy vacuum I've owned. This has great suction power with it being easy to push. It is easy to clean and just works for us. The only knock I would say is that when you use the wand to clean a fan or some are above the floor, the vacuum tends to fall over. I wish Dyson would come up with a way to keep the vacuum from falling over when using the hose. Otherwise, I think this is a great vaccum cleaner.

This vacuum is amazing! The suction is outstanding and it's easy to maneuver. Makes my carpet look new; brushes the fibers and gets even the finest dirt out. Highly recommend.
