Like the fact that is quite powerful even with the amount of hair my cat puts on the carpet, this vacuum never looses suction as the canister gets full as my other vacuums did, and i have owned both 2 other from the competition that are designs for people with pets. This one by far is definitely worth the investment. Even as pricey at it is, and yes i do wish it was also cheaper.

Works better than any other Dyson we have had in the past! It is heavy-please know that but you have no idea how well it cleans!!!!!

It looks heavy but actually it is very easy to control. Vacuum performance is perfect!! I love it.

Upgraded from a 7yr old $50 Bissell from Walmart. Compared to the Bissell, this vacuum makes my carpet fell like it was shampooed. It has dedicated button to turn off roller/brush for running on hardwood, and this has become very convenient. The outside edge (about 2in) of base fits under couches and most other furniture. Owned for couple of months now. Emptied twice (no issues, no mess). Still has a new, motor/plastic smell after using. When using the attachments and hose, it's more sturdy than I anticipated. I don't know much about the other high-end, dealer-only vacuums, but if they can compare to this, any decision on upgrading is a good one.

I was a little nervous to pay this much money for a vacuum cleaner but I have no regrets after using it one time. All the attachments are great, the vacuum itself has a lot of suction, easy to maneuver and turn, easy to dump everything from the canister, great on hard floors and carpet. The only thing I would like to see changed is the handle...it is a little flimsy but haven't had any issues so far.

I am comparing this Dyson with my older one. The Cinetic Big Ball Animal is not as easily steerable as my old one. I will say that we have plusher carpet now. Maybe the steering mechanism will loosen up a little. My biggest con is that it is not easy to use on bare floor. I liked the floor attachment and long wand that came with the old machine that made it work like a tank machine. This Animal came with the bag of tools which are somewhat awkward to use. It is quiet and has great suction. Bottom line, my wife doesn't like it as well as the older one and says I can use it instead of her. I still would not have any other machine but the Dyson.

I can see a real difference between our previous vacuum and the Dyson. The suction is remarkable. I love how you do not have to chance a setting to go from hard wood floors to carpet. The only complaint i have is that you have to unravel the whole cord in order to use the attachments. Overall It is a great product through and hopefully it last for years to come.

We have 4 Siberian huskies (constant shedding) and 2 cats, and Dyson vacuums are all that survive in our house - we went through 3 other well known brands that died within a year or two before we found Dysons. We now own 4 Dysons - Upright, Cannister, cordless, and now this one. And this one takes the cake. Picks up dog hair that has settled in the carpets. As a test, we vacuumed with the older upright the day before the new one arrived (which we owned for 9 years before purchasing this new one). We then vacuumed with the new one. It picked up so much dirt and hair that the older one didn't, you would have thought we hadn't just vacuumed with the older one. The tangle-less brushes are amazing too. Never mind the dusting accessories. It is much heavier than earlier models, but it seems to pull itself along too, so it doesn't break your back. If you have animals that shed, this is the vacuum for you!

Before vacuuming with our new Dyson Animal Big Ball + Allergy, we first vacuumed thoroughly with our older vacuum that will soon be on its way to the junkyard. Please understand I keep a clean home and this picture is not indicative of my homes cleanliness. It IS however, a testament to how this vacuum completely outperforms every other vacuum I have ever owned. I thought my old one was good enough.. How wrong I was!!!

We started with the canister vacuum and hated it. Switched to the upright Dyson big ball and love it. Works really well on carpet and the extra tools help on the stairs.

All in all this is the best vacuum we've owned, and we've owned several Dysons as my fiancee has a bit of an addiction. The lack of filter is great, all the mechanisms are solid and well designed, and it picks up everything. There are a ton of attachments included in a little tote bag with several varieties that I've never seen and find pretty useful. The one negative is that there are zero places on the unit itself to put any attachments. It's not enough to dock a star, but it is kind of annoying from a company that prides itself on design.

Great suction. Easy to use. But for the price it seem to feel cheap and flimsy. I've owned nothing but Kirbys before this vac so I guess I'm just used to the all metal construction vs the all plastic

This is my third Dyson. First one lasted 6 years, second 4 years. This one is by far the best performing one yet, both on carpet and hardfloors.

After having two lesser vacuums in a row (read:less than $150) we finally decided to go in the other direction pricewise, just to see if more money gets you a better product in something as simple as a vacuum cleaner. Turns out, it does. Better draw, better overall quality, a (much-needed) longer cord, and all the necessary attachments. It's a little cumbersome as it is heavier than our previous ones, plus, it has that whole, weird pivoting turn thing going on, but overall I like it.

I liked it so much I bought two. It was easy enough for my kids to use. The attachments are great on the furniture.

My first Dyson. Having 3 large dogs, I need a powerful vacuum and this has shown to be just that. Very easy to use and maneuver. Very good design on emptying it. At first the lack of auto wind up for the cord may seem a negative, but it is quickly put in place and my experience is those wind up ones tend to not work well after some time. Good attachments. Highly recommend this!!!

Very easy and light weight to use!! Great suction!! This vacuum did such a great job when I got it put together that I ended up vacuuming the whole house!! :))

We've had this vacuum for a few months now and we absolutely love it. It cleans so well and the attachments have come in handy a lot. You have to try to be careful and really not get any gunk above the line like it says because it is a little hard to get out if you do. Assembly was very easy and it moves around really easily as well. Dyson lovers for life here.

I have two homes and I am a Dyson fan. I didn't think it could get any better, but this vacuum is great! It is not too loud and is very easy to move about, empty and clean. It came with all the attachments I use. I have dogs that shed a lot and I am impressed with its pick up power. The house always smells cleaner after using it, without using any air freshener products. Dyson has great customer service-just in case you have any problems. Their warranty is super!

This is a great vacuum cleaner, has a lot of attachments and does a great job when cleaning my carpet. Picks up really fine dust and doesn't smell at all.
