The Dyson - Purifier Hot+Cool HP2 De-NOx is quite an impressive machine. It is very quiet and delivers heat that is very clean. The app that comes with the product is very easy to use and lets you know how clean the air is inside your home. Plus, it has the ability to set a program schedule although that is only for the air purification and fan only. Since the device complies with UL regulations the heat settings are not able to be controlled via the app and can only be set with the included remote control. The heat can be turned off with the app but only the remote control can be used to turn it on and adjust the heat. I like that the top of the unit is magnetic and the remote sticks to it for easy access and storage.
The oscillation of the fan is another very useful feature as I can heat up a fairly large room in a short time by putting this in the center of the room and setting the oscillation to 350 degrees. I got this item mainly for the clean heat and fan capability as I rely on an IQAir machine for doing the heavy lifting of purifying the air in my home. The device does a great job of keeping the air clean while heating up the room.
One of the big cons for this device is the amount of power that is drawn when the heat is on. I have seen it as high as 1640 watts when the heat first turns and it typically is around 1300 when the heat is in a steady state. In the auto mode with the heat off it is only about 3W and with the fan on only at max speed it is about 25W. I tripped a circuit breaker one of the first times I was using this device in heat mode. Something to be aware of as it can start to rack up KWHs on the electric bill.
Overall, I am very happy with this machine and really glad I got it.

The Dyson Hot+Cool is exactly what you would expect from a Dyson air purifier. It has a unique bladeless design that means it is very silent at low speeds, and even at high fan speeds, while audible, moves a lot more air than you would expect for the noise. It has this white, bronze/gold, and silver aesthetic which looks classy. The included remote, which has all of the core functions on it, likewise comes with a bronze/gold aesthetic that won’t look out of place on the coffee table. The air purifier itself is pretty compact, sitting ~2.5 feet tall with an ~8 inch diameter. There is also a little screen on the front which displays various air quality metrics, one at a time, which you can cycle through using the remote.
Functionality wise as an air purifier, the Dyson doesn’t shake-up the game too much. It is quoted to capture up to 99.97% of particles up to 0.3 micros, and while I can’t test this directly, the HEPA H13 Grade filter gives me no reason to doubt the performance. Speaking of the filter, it should last around a year as quoted on the device, but the app gives you a nice filter health measure. From a measurement standpoint, the filter measures Relative Humidity, Indoor Temperature, PM2.5 & PM10 particulate matter, Formaldehyde, Volatile Organic Compounds, Nitrogen Dioxide and Oxidizing Gases, and an overall Air Quality Index. You can view all of these in the app in real-time, as well as on the information display.
You can set the fan speed on a scale of 1-10, or “auto” if you want the fan speed to adjust based on the air quality level (which is how I tended to leave it). The nice thing about the fanless design of the purifier is that the air is reversible, so you can push air either forward or backward from the purifier. Additionally, it can rotate on an ~180 degree axis if you want it to oscillate. All nice to have features for sure, but where the air purifier is most unique is in its ability to blow both cool and warm air from the purifier, making it a bit of a small A/C & space heater in one package. Surprisingly these both work well, and while they won’t keep a large space particularly cool or hot, they can help in smaller spaces or as HVAC augmentation for a larger room. The heater in particular worked pretty well, which while I didn’t test too heavily in the middle of summer, very quickly heated-up and blew a good amount of warm air. This thing would be great for a bedroom or small apartment.
To be honest, that is it in a nutshell. The Dyson is a good air purifier, a nice little cooling unit, and an efficient space heater all in one stylish package. In terms of improvements that I think Dyson could make, there aren’t too many. The first would be that I would like to see a more useful display on the front, maybe a bit larger or wider, so you can see multiple air quality metrics at once, not just one at a time. A touchscreen would also be nice to quickly view things without using the remote, but there is always the app itself as well. The build quality is also very plastic heavy for the cost of the machine, which keeps it lightweight, but does result in some creaking if moved or even when rotating at times. Finally, the auto air speed mode is most effective, but at times could ramp-up a bit quickly despite not having the air quality metrics being too bad. Again, all of these are fairly small complaints for an overall successful package. Dyson does it again.

Well I think at this point Dyson does not need any introduction at all, the company at this point is very well known, specially when it comes to fans, vacuum and even hair dryers. but this is my first time owning Dysons Purifier Hot+ Cool, ive been using this at a small office space and so far its been performing perfectly, its a beautiful device and I just want to share my few cents.
DEVICE
unboxing the device it does not require any sections to be installed you just need to plug it on the wall and youre ready to go. what I have is the golden brown color, I guess its almosy like golden brass I think thats what i’ll call it. this Dyson Hot+Cool offer advanced air purification with 3 stage HEPA H13 grade filtration, so it’s always great to know if your fan support that to make sure the air your breathing atleast helps to be cleaned. they claim it continuously destroy formaldehyde so ill ok Dyson ill take your word for it.
FEATURE:
Dyson Hot+Cool offers smooth Oscillation up to 350 degree. the remote is also colored that golden brass I was mentioning with minimalistic control that offers fan speed, on/off, night mode, timer and the ability to go from Hot or Cool to name a few. the device supports Bluetooth 4.0 connecting to the app was a breezy it detected the new device instantly. you can also control your Dyson from the app without grabbing the controller or if you’re using this while in bed all you need is the phone to make adjustments with ease. Diffuse mode on the fan is mainly for purification so this fan has 3 features it can do that includes Hot and Cool.
EXPERIENCE:
I Love Dyson this is not my first rodeo with the brand but having this Hot+Cool is the first time. switching the Fan for Hot it takes couple second but it warms up in no time! having equip with the latest De-Nox that can capture 50% more NO2, it just makes it feel right knowing that this device is protecting my indorr air to make sure im having a great purified air. I havent experience any issue with the fan, the noise level is the same as my other dyson fan and works well during the night. but is this a right fan for you? Dyson is not cheap thats the first thing to keep in mind, Hot+Cool cost $850 so its a hefty price for a fan, but knowing that is Dyson I feel like what youre paying for is definitely worth it from all the studies theyve done to create something safe for your house.

Great Purifier if You Need All the Features

The Dyson Purifier Hot+Cool may be one of the coolest technologies I own. As someone big on using air purifiers around my home, and particularly my home office, I was very excited to not just get an air purifier, but also a fan and heating system as my room consistently is a wildly different temperature from the rest of the house.
Right off the bat, it’s worth noting that this is a large box. Luckily everything comes fully assembled. However, my first and largely biggest criticism of the Dyson Purifier is the lack of out-of-the-box instructions. There are a few warning/attention documents and two reminders to use the app, but literally nothing else. I was initially confused and wary about unwrapping the purifier and removing the various tape holding parts together for shipment. There is no instruction on unboxing nor initial setup. Typically, one would expect to see at least an initial startup pamphlet.
Even downloading the app does not clear up confusion on initial set up. It’s worth noting that I could not get the QR code on the documentation provided to work correctly on my Pixel 9 Pro phone. Once I downloaded the app, which wasn’t hard to find, I set up my Dyson account and then it went about looking for my purifier via Bluetooth. I had yet to plug in the purifier to power, waiting for something in the app to guide me to do so. Yes, it’s a bit of a “no-brainer” but I’ve set up a lot of WiFi connected technology, and this is the first one that hasn’t provided more guidance through these initial steps on your new product.
The rest of the setup was standard – connect to the purifier from your phone, set up WiFi and you’re good to go. I did have issues with it connecting to my standard WiFi 7 (and legacy) network, but when it had no problem connecting to my 2.4Ghz only smarthome device network. While troubleshooting WiFi can come with a myriad of problems, for such an expensive device – and considering none of my Blueair devices have this problem – it’s a bit disappointing. After this was done, however, I’ve had no problems since with WiFI or using the app.
Only once you have the Dyson Purifier fully set up can you use the app to find the instructions for how to use it. It’s straightforward: the app can show you both the outdoor air quality for your location and for the room your purifier is set up in. Among the data points you get currently and historically from all the time the unit is on is Air Quality Index, which is the overall air quality parameter, temperature, relative humidity, PM2.5 or particulate matter smaller than 2.5 microns, PM10 or particulate matter smaller than 10 microns, HCHO or formaldehyde, volatile organic compounds, and nitrogen dioxide. Comparatively, my Blueair purifiers only display PM2.5, so the Dyson is cleaning quite a bit more.
The app covers almost the same ground as the remote control with one big exception: heating. To meet US safety standards, you cannot turn on heating remotely via the app and this must be done with the remote control. As it’s currently summer, I can’t tell you how inconvenient or not this will be, but not being able to “preheat” my office in the name of safety standards is something I’m comfortable with, although I wish that was advertised elsewhere. Other than this both the app and remote work well. You can turn it on/off, switch to auto mode, adjust fan levels, and oscillation. Regarding oscillation, you have a few degrees of option, including nearly 360 degrees, but where the app shines over the remote is you can adjust where the oscillation originates. For example, you can set a 45-degree oscillation, but with the app you can determine where that is from. From the remote, it’s just where it’s currently pointed. You can not adjust the angle up/downward from the app or remote but can do so physically at the purifier.
The unit itself stands about 2.5 feet high, about the same height and footprint as any other tower fan. The white and gold color scheme is aesthetically pleasing and neither of the colors are bright enough to stand out in a way that may look garish or out of place. The front of the unit below the “fan” and above the filters has a small circular screen for displaying information. Using a button on the remote, you can cycle through all the various types of information I listed above. The screen isn’t too bright and is very unobtrusive. The remote conveniently attaches to the top of the unit via magnets.
Some of the various functions available include a night mode, where the LCD on the unit is dimmed and it stays at a quieter setting. Auto mode automatically adjusts the air speed based on the air quality in the room. Cooling mode I find to be a bit of a misnomer. There is no actual cooling or air conditioning – it’s just a fan and NOT heating. Heating, again done only via the remote and not the app, allows you to adjust the temperature target. A timer allows you to adjust how long the unit is on. Auto seems to be the default setting.
The app allows you to set up scheduling for the device and is super helpful to automatically set up night mode and, apart from heat, can adjust all the other settings such as oscillation. Coming from Blueair purifiers I found this sightly confusing as I had set up an automated night mode, but in the morning when it hit the end of the schedule, the machine just turned off instead of returning to its previous settings. This was remedied by just setting a second schedule for my daytime use. It’s not stated anywhere, but I do believe you’d want to always keep the purifier on, so your room stays with purified air when you enter it.
Overall, I’m very happy with the Dyson Purifier. Why choose this machine? I see two reasons: you want both very advanced filtration, and you would like that built into a tower fan that can also heat. If you don’t need either of those things, you may want to look at other models or even other products on the market. While I did find product unboxing and initialization a bit confusing and not clearly explained this is a product that once is up and running is very hands off, so in the long run I cannot count it as too much of a negative. For me, in my home office, that is never the right temperature and frequented by a dog that brings with it various smells, the Dyson Purifier is the perfect choice. I’m in this room for over 40 hours a week and it’s a smaller space, so I want it to be as comfortable and with an air quality that I can feel better knowing is fully filtered and safe for me.

I got my first Dyson air purifying fan back in 2018 and It’s been a great air purifying fan for the most part. The only issue is it has a high pitched buzz from time to time that’s really only noticeable mostly on the lowest settings. With this new model unfortunately it also has the slightest buzz at the lowest settings also. It is nowhere near as bad as my original but it’s still noticeable. Some people may not notice it, for me personally it only bothered me when I tried using it while I was sleeping as I’m a light sleeper.
In terms of performance I have always been happy with the amount of air flow these models put out when using it as a fan. The blade less design is also a big plus with having animals and children. We have two mischievous cats so having no blades is one less thing for them to get in trouble with. I have multiple air purifiers but this is the only model I have that detects formaldehyde and I can’t say how effective it is but it gives me a little more piece of mind.
When operating the device the app allows you to control all the features, except the heating feature. From my understanding this is a government regulation that you must use the actual remote to operate the heating function. The Dyson app is good and along with allowing you to control the device, it shows you the quality of the air in your home. In terms of the heater, the highest temperature it goes to is 99 degrees, I don’t know how this compares to other heaters as all the ones I’ve used just simply have low, medium and high settings.
I’ve always been a fan of the Dyson blade less design and the benefits they give you. My only issue with the Dyson is the occasional high pitched buzz they can make on low speed settings and for the price it’s kinda inexcusable. If you’re not planning to use these while sleeping, I can recommend it, if you are it’s something you want to take into consideration.

Stunning device with one glaring flaw

As someone who’s owned several air purifiers over the years, I always end up forgetting to change the filter, and eventually putting the whole thing away because of how much space it takes up. This device solves all of that, as it’s not just an air purifier, but also a space heater and fan, all in one compact design. Since I’ll actually be using it regularly, I imagine I’ll be able to stay on top of filter changes too.
Aesthetically, it’s quite beautiful, and instantly recognizable. The clean white against the rose gold base really stands out, and the LED display on the front is bright and easy to read.
The airflow settings on this device are amazing. You can choose direct airflow like a normal fan, or a more “radiating” style that sends air out through the top. I’ve never seen anything quite like that before, and I imagine it’ll be especially useful in heating mode so it doesn’t blow hot air straight onto your skin. I’m really looking forward to using that feature this winter.
The oscillation is 350 degrees. so no matter where you place it, it covers the room. It also has 10 fan speeds, plus voice control with Siri, Alexa, and Google. The app is very easy to use, and loaded with info: real-time feedback on air quality, pollutants, pollen levels, temperature, humidity, and several other metrics that I’m unfamiliar with.
However, with all this said, there is one major flaw with this device. U.S. safety regulations prohibit app control for the heating element on space heaters. The only way to turn on the heat is with the remote. I thought for sure that you would be able to turn heat on from the actual device, but you can’t! I read the manual front to back, but nope, if you lose the remote, you’re out of luck. What’s worse is that I discovered older Dyson models did let you turn the heater on directly from the device, so this feels like a step backward.
Another issue Is the “Continuous Monitoring” report. I’ve had this running for almost two weeks and still haven’t been able to get the app to generator a report. The app keeps telling me I need to enable “Continuous Monitoring” to generate a report, while on the same screen showing it’s already enabled. Again, I’ve been through the manual and troubleshooting guide and still can’t get it to work.
Overall, It’s a beautiful device, and something I’ll absolutely treasure in my house. I love all the data it provides, and the wide range of functionality. However, as the dad of a 10 year old boy, I know that my remote will definitely go missing at some point, likely on the coldest day of the year, and I’ll be scratching wondering why I can’t turn the heat on from the actual device.

I have a Dyson hot and cold from a few years ago. This is such an improvement from even just a few years ago.
The previous generation had a standard HEPA filter, this new generation filter. This new filter Dyson day is a HEPA filter with charcoal and potassium. This is to help absorb the NO2 that can be in your house. There is an auto setting, it runs in the background. When the Dyson detects contamination it kicks on high. I had was putting down some carpet fresh, they Dyson cleared a 12x12 room in about 15 minutes. So if you want the fresh scent from a carpet deodorizer you might want to turn the Dyson off.
It’s been super hot so I have not used the Heater. With previous units you can’t turn the heater on with the app, you have to use the very tiny ( and expensive remote). So don’t lose it.
This does use the same Dyson app as my precious fan so that is great.
When I first plugged the fan in the app said my air was very dirty. It did do its initial cleaning which was about 15-20 minutes. I didn’t even know my air was that dirty.
I have 0 complaints (except the heater and the remote). I have always loved Dyson fans and this just continues that.
I am not sure if its temperature sensor is totally Accurate. My house AC says 77 and the Dyson says 80. So one of the 2 are wrong.

After having an HP1 for a couple years and very satisfied with it, I was curious how they would make improvements. Well here we are, all the previous features and functions plus some new ones. Unlike the previous machine that did a good job of cleaning the air with its charcoal filters, this one appears to actively clean nitrogen dioxides out of the air which give you clean unscented air. The closest I can compare is being in a forest after a rain or close to it. The beauty is you can set it to auto so it will continually measure air quality and only kick on when things start to get above normal. Using the app, you can easily control all the functions from the palm of your hand. It also integrates with services like Google and Alexa. Also from the app you can see air quality reports, humidity levels and temperature just to mention a few items. Getting everything connected was as simple as following the prompts on the fan and the app which took just a few minutes. There is also an included remote that magnetically attaches to the top of the fan so it doesn't get lost. Overall, this is a highly functional, great looking device that when winter comes I will be taking advantage of its heating capabilities as well.

How does this Dyson purifier stack up long-term?

This is my first foray into the Dyson realm so I wanted to see what all the hype is about. My primary care physician recommended that I invest in getting an air purifier for the home since I deal with allergies and asthma daily. So having 2-story open floor plan home in Texas, the Dyson purifier hot+cool HP2 would be a good option to test its capabilities. Summers are relentless due to the dry heat and additional room fans are a must.
Dyson HP2
Opening the Dyson purifier showcased a beautifully crafted 12-pound air purifier which is able to cool and heat a small to medium sized room. The packaging is minimal, which includes the purifier, remote and Hepa filter. The Dyson HP2 fits perfectly in my family room with its elegant design and craftsmanship. It's easy to keep clean and wipe clean and maintain. We have pets and Im allergic to dust, so this product was a need in our household.
How does it perform
This one is a still TBD longerm, but I’m seeing positive results from the air quality results in the MyDyson app. Having the ability to see the indoor humidity, and monitor the indoor temps are something I didn’t expect from this purifier. After I set the continuous monitoring mode on the remote. I’m testing this purifier in the middle of summer, so I didn’t get to test the heater function. The fan speed settings go from min to max and its pretty loud at its highest setting. It pushes a good bit of air as well. Having Wi-Fi capability to update fan speed from the app is also a plus. The 350 degree radius is perfect for my large family room. This is the reason I really wanted this device . Keep in mind, this device doesn't have the air conditioning built in. It's able to cool based on the fan.
Cost of ownership
One of the main concerns with Dyson products are “are they worth the cost”? This is a consideration one must make. The cost of the device plus the cost of replacing the Hepa filter annually. Having the ability to cool, heat and purifier all in one device is really neat. After spending some time with the Dyson purifier, the annual cost of ownership would be my only concern so far.

Quiet purifier and air mover, cool features

The Dyson Purifier Hot+Cool HP2 De-NOx is the 4th air purifier in my home and, surprisingly, the first Dyson product of any kind. I've always thought the Dyson air movers were really cool looking products, just haven't had the means to use one at home until now.
#Unboxing and First Impressions#
The Dyson HP2 came in a box with a lot of empty space and without a ton of packing materials. As a result, the box had a pretty significant dent when it was left on my porch. Fortunately, there was no damage to the product itself, so if you order one from the website and the box ends up looking a little rough, don't necessarily assume that the fan inside is damaged. Fit and finish are pretty good, especially the power cord - it's seriously beefy and a reminder that this thing has a heating function as well as cooling and purifying.
#Using the HP2#
While the Dyson HP2 comes with a remote and has a pretty nice display for showing you sensor readings and settings, I went ahead and set up the MyDyson app on my android phone to make sure I was getting the best use of all the features. The app was very easy to set up, and I had the fan connected to my home network and managed through the app in no time. Over the last few weeks I have found myself using the remote or app interchangeably, just using whichever was within reach. One great feature of the Dyson HP2 is that it actually pauses the oscillation when you use the remote, so it stays pointed in one direction for you to easily read the screen. One big benefit to the app is that you can view the air quality or change settings from anywhere, which is pretty hany if you have the unit in a child's room (as I do).
I've found the Dyson HP2 moves a surprising amount of air at any given noise level, until you get to the absolute strongest setting. At that point, I found the Dyson fan was a little louder (or at least, a more obnoxious tone) than the cheap tower fan I've been using in that room for a few years. At anything other than "10" on the scale, the Dyson is much quieter and still moves a good amount of air, though. And of course, the Dyson HP2 has a strong air filtration system as well as heating elements. I particularly like that you can run the fan in a reverse mode to disperse the heat more evenly without directing it right at you.
Cost for the replacement filters is fairly high but not out of line with other premium air filter brands and they last for 12 months according to Dyson. I found they do a good job at removing odors. It's in a twin boys' room currently, and it's putting in WORK. I hadn't really thought about it in the 3 weeks I've had it in there, but today we had a power outage and I neglected to power the HP2 back on. I went into their room and was hit with full on "boys of summer" smell - you know the one. Fortunately a few minutes with the Dyson running and it was back to bearable :).
#Final thoughts#
It's hard to argue with the quality of product that Dyson is offering with this HP2 Purifier. Really the only complaint I can come up with is the high price, but even that is actually justifiable in my opinion considering the features they are offering as well as the performance in a fairly small footprint. If your budget allows it, the Dyson HP2 combines the best air purifier with a great air mover and space heater into one package.
