This is my first robot vacuum and I did a lot of research before going with t8+. I was confused choosing between t8+ and t8 AIVI. But the only difference between these two models is the HD camera that AIVI has. Other than that, all the specs are the same in terms of performance-wise. Talking about the smarts of this machine, its LiDAR system is on point in mapping my house. LiDAR is much better and quicker at making accurate maps of the house compared to VSLAM (camera-based) that iRobot has. On my initial run, I could see the areas of my house in the app even where the robot was yet to explore. Completely amazed by its laser mapping system. It created an accurate map of my house (about 3500 sq ft) in the first run in just under 150 mins. Talking about the app, there had been several issues in past regarding navigation and lost maps. But they have been resolved by introducing a feature called "Restore Map" in the app. This basically restores the map the robot creates during an initial run. So it is critical to have the robot map your entire house in the first run. Try picking up all the removable objects like dog bed, tower fan, etc during the first run. And the most important thing before you do an initial run is to put the auto-empty base to a location where you would be keeping it permanently. Make sure to start the robot while its docked on the bin and that it returns to the bin by itself, after cleaning, in order to create an initial map. Or else, you would have trouble in creating an initial map. Other helpful tweaks to consider in app while mapping for the 1st time is to turn on "continuous cleaning", "truedetect obstacle" and set the vacuum power to the lowest setting. The app is highly customizable as you can edit the map by dividing the rooms or merging two rooms into one. You can set no-vacuum zones and no-mopping zones in the app. You can even assign the sequence of the room in the order you want your house to be cleaned. And you can also set different cleaning preferences for each room. The app says to replace the dust bin bag every 30 days, but you can always take it out and see whether it's been completely full. One bag typically lasts for 2 months for me. This combo is unbeatable for the price I got ($450 - black Friday savings). This has the best navigation and mapping system on market and very reliable cleaning results.

nice vac with lidar, object avoidance, auto empty

pros: checks all the boxes lidar, object avoidance, auto empty and long battery life. these features are a must for any premium robot vac these days. it is able to clean a 3000 sqft house with mostly hard floor and some carpet on a single charge (without using carpet suction boost). if using carpet boost will need to recharge before resuming cleaning. haven't tested the mop feature yet but mostly bought for vacuuming. cons: it does seem to get confused sometimes and cleans areas more than once or keeps bumping into things but luckily its rare. it also sometimes sucks in cables or towels if left on the floor. hopefully future updates will resolve this issue but its definitely not a deal breaker. oem replacement bags for the empty station could be cheaper but there are some generics starting to show up on amazon. all in all i feel robot vacs have matured enough to the point where they are useful without turning into a nuisance. are these vacs perfect? no but its getting closer.

I’m ruined. There’s no way I can live without one now. The mopping feature is awesome. I have vinyl planks with a few rugs. This thing is awesome on hard floors, sweeping and mopping at the same time. Setup is simple. The robot maps your house out and allows you to name rooms and set different cleaning preferences for each one. Maintenance is minimal, getting the self-empty station is a must. The vacuum is not loud and intrusive. When Deebot empties it’s self, that process is loud. However, it is only a few seconds operation. This machine performs great in all 3 task (mopping, sweeping, and vacuuming. My rugs are all short nap.

Good product it gets the job done. Tells me when I need to do maintenance. I just set it and forget it. I have had it for 10 months now it has held up well. I have two cats so it runs every other day. I really like the real time mapping feature. I can see where it is all the time. It does have trouble with cords. It gets tangled in them sometimes. We have hard floors through the whole house so it gets most of the house every time. I also like how easy it is to take it apart for maintenance and cleaning.

The ECOVACS DEEBOT T8+ generally performed well, offering efficient cleaning with good features. However, it did have some issues with navigation, often getting stuck in areas where it shouldn't have been and occasionally encountering obstacles. After two years of use, the vacuum lost suction power and stopped working altogether. However, I know none of these robot vacuums have great longevity, and this was a value model.

    This Changed My Mind

Long story short, my vacuum died and I needed a new one. Friend recommended I give this/robot vacuums a look due to their extremely positive experience. I was hesitant, but figured it's on sale, makes my life a little more automated, why not? I can say I'm glad I did, this little vacuum has been working amazing on carpet and hardwork floors without issues. Maps things out, selfempties perfectly so far and is very quiet... Until the selfemptying thing. (Vacuums are loud, it happens) Plus side, it does routine vacuuming and can mop when I need it to without missing anything. the 3d system also has been great at avoiding stuff, even when I tried to mess with it. I'm going to start with saying all, but one of the of the downsides seem to be part of a robot vacuum. Let's start with that one example, if you have dark/black carpets or designs it will mess it up. It has fall sensors that can't tell the different between a black spot and the edge of a staircase. The current solution is to use some white tape on the sensors. Though I wish they would release an update to disable them if you only have a 1 floor place to clean. The other issues, it's not a full on vacuum so don't expect it to do deep cleaning on a carpet though it does auto adjust the suction up to do a better job than expected. As good as it is for getting the corners, its round design still can only do so much for 90 degree corners so some dirt can pile up. Last thing is once in a while you will have to cut hair/tangled threads out of the roller. Otherwise it hasn't gotten stuck, run over fake poo, or given any fuss.

It is super easy to set up and it seems to work very well. The auto empty sometimes get clogged but it is a simple manual empty that fixes it. The customer service of Ecovacs is "Non Existent!" Thank goodness for youtube. It does get lost and can't find its way home occasionally. It is very good about not running into walls or furniture and goes right to the edge of the stairs but doesn't fall off. I would definitely recommend!!

This vacuum is a vast improvement from my prior robotic vacuum! Pros: -Much quieter than expected -Keeps my German shepherd’s “love fibers” in check -Love the methodic lines vs random pattern -No go zones, area cleaning and custom cleaning Cons: -Took SEVERAL tries to get a complete map. This was the most frustrating part. -The auto empty bin function does not suck out the dog fur. Once you get a completed map, it’s great! The issue with mapping is the only reason I deducted a star. Having to manually empty the dust bin doesn’t bother me too much considering the time this vacuum saves me in trying to keep up with my fur baby’s shedding. I have not tested the mop function yet

Good vacuum, must mod auto empty bin with tape

Great vacuum. Mapping works great if you setup your house exactly how you want it during its first run. Any changes after that it will adapt to but you can always default back to the original map if something goes wrong. Object avoidance works well, it will tap you or an item with the brushes on the front but it won’t ever hit anything with more than the lightest tap. Battery really does last nearly 3 hours which is enough to do my open concept main floor of about 1600 sq. ft. With 400 of it being rug or carpet. It auto identifies carpet, though it also seems to mark vents as carpet as well. The only problem with this unit was the auto-empty station. Like many other reviews state, it often leaves the middle section of the dustbin full of material because there are two empty ports on either side and both are pulling equally on the center section basically creating no suction. . One piece of duck tape on the bottom of the vacuum over one of the empty ports fixed this issue completely. It would probably work better on the top, just under the dustbin, but I didn’t want to make the dustbin sit off level. Anyway you do it, blocking off one of the two ports on the dustbin or vacuum dramatically improves the suction on the auto-empty bin. Also, the auto-empty bin is $250 separately if you buy it anywhere else. If you get this model on sale at Bestbuy, it’s a really get value if you plan on getting the bin.

PRO: I really like the Ecovacs vacuum. It is amazing at its navigation and works around leg chairs, dog toys, etc. much better than my iRobot mop ever did. iRobot bumped into items, Ecovacs never touches it. The camera really works. CON: I would not bother with buying the Auto-Empty Station. It never gets out the debris/dirt that the vacuum collected. I have to manually dump the dust bin after every use. It only removes the dirt from the two corners of the dustbin, but every thing in the middle stays there. So the vacuum is great/the Auto-Empty Station is a waste of money. I would have given it 5 stars if the station worked like it should.

We’ve had an older model Roomba for several years that did the whole “ram around until it’s finished” kinda clean which was fine but you never felt totally confident in it and had to kinda baby proof your house because it would fly down the stairs or run over cables. I was really interested in getting the Roomba i7 but then saw the the auto empty dust bins really wanted one of those as that’s great because those bins on these vacuums are so small. The Roomba prices were pretty painful. So after during further research any watching many YouTube videos I decided on the T8+ which includes the auto empty bin for a fraction of the price. It’s combination of sensors ensures it’s no longer ramming all your furniture to death, flying down your stairs, eating your cables, shoe laces, running down your pet ETC. I have to say I’m incredibly impressed and when it finished cleaning the bin was FULL. But it went back to the dock, auto emptied and charged away. The mapping software on the app pretty much identified all the rooms correctly the first time. I set up some boundary zones as it really didn’t like the rugs in the bathroom and the dining table it couldn’t navigate successfully. So it’s not perfect. I also scheduled it to come on twice a week (which you can customize if you want it to run and do a full clean, just particular rooms, what order to do them in). So yes the vacuum isn’t perfect but I have to say it’ll make managing dust and dirt throughout the week much easier and it truly is a smart vacuum. Highly recommend.

Works great. Takes a while to map the floor plan, but that's to be expected, and once it does that, it goes quicker. If too much hair/fur is in the compartment, it won't automatically empty. You'll have to open it and empty it. I haven't used the mopping feature yet. Will do that soon and report back on that. Very happy with it. Not too loud. A good feature is being able to mark off where you DON'T want it to go.

This deebot was life. Im so sad I couldn’t replace it when the babysitter accidentally killed it. Replaced it with the much inferior t10+ which I regret fully. This vacuum worked great and had enough battery to nearly vacuum my mixed carpet/tile floor for 2500 out of 3100 sq ft. The mop isn’t very effective but for a quick daily once over it did well. Love this robit

It makes it easy to clean the house and dust free. It follows the schedule to do its task of cleaning on-time whether anybody is home ir not. After I purchases the Deebot, my house is always clean. Auo-emptying dust makes the dust to empty in the dust-bag making it less messy. I just adore my Deebot and can’t live without its companionship.

Great vacuum, decent mop if you set expectations in line with its design. App is relatively intuitive, alexa integration is convenient. Dust bin is a must. Overall system works better the more you let it clean. Will clog the dust bin if you run it weekly. But if you run it every couple days it is great. We upgraded to the ozmo pro oscillating mop for 100 thru deebot. Much better at cleaning. Mop is more for maintenance between scrubbs but does keep high traffic areas presentable between them. This thing is a dog hair hound. Worth it just for that.

I liked that with two dogs my apartment never really ends up dirty. I like the programmed times so i never come home to a dirty floor. Like the mopping feature, although it doesn’t replace mopping, i am able to only mop around once every two weeks because it keeps my floors clean. I upgraded from a regular roomba and now this is one of the best options.

Pretty good vacuum. Navigation is better than my previous two Neatos, which is nice. Auto emptying is nice when it works but if there is longer human/pet hair in your house it tends to get stuck as there are two 'doors' the dust bin empties from. Solution is generally to just run more often so there is less to pick up. Hard floor performance is great, but carpet is kind of mediocre. Some pet hair just won't be picked up no matter what. The T8+ certain helps keep the house clean when it already is, but don't expect to never vacuum again if you have pets.
