These little lights are honestly far better than I expected they would be. The default balance lends itself well to my skin tone and makes me look far less ghostly than I did prior.

The Elgato Keylight Neo is a fairly compact light designed to help illuminate your face, or really any other object, with varying degrees of cool-to-warm light in different brightness settings. It’s a square(ish) frame with a round lighting element capable of 7,000 lumens at full go in the center. Surrounding the light element are four controls to adjust the light’s cool or warm settings, power, and brightness level. On the bottom is a ¼” tripod mount, and an adjustable clip that attaches to this is included that you can screw on, allowing you to sit the Elgato on the edge of a laptop, desktop monitor, or other items. The light is USB powered only, although if you use your own power adapter, you can plug it in a wall. Unfortunately, there is no internal battery at all, so you do have to plug it in when using it for power. This can be through a USB-A port on your laptop/computer, or via a battery power bank. I would really have liked for it to have had some kind of battery system, but at least it does come with higher quality braided power cables, including an approximately 39 inch main USB-C to USB-A cable, and an approximately 59 inch extension cable (USB-A to USB-A), so at least it does give you a good reach for power. An included cable manager snaps onto the back so you can coil and store the cable when not in use. The USB-C port on the Keylight unfortunately is very tightly flushed to the inner body, though. The included power cable works fine though it’s a tight fit, but if you want to use your own cable, it will not let you use a 90-degree one or one with a thick rim around the USB-C tip. So, setup is pretty straightforward and easy. The Elgato gives a very good, even, spread of light, and being able to adjust the cool/warm settings will allow you to get the color balance right on your videos. It gets very bright at it’s top setting, or can be a faint glow. Glare is very minimal, and even then only under very specific conditions. Connecting it to your laptop’s USB-A or C ports can give you up to 400-700 lumens, but if you use a power adapter in an A/C outlet, the max output can be cranked up to around 1,000 lumens. I like this kind of diffused light over ring lights or directional lights in most cases. Being able to clip it on to varied monitors or just a tripod makes it convenient. Any complaints? Well again, I’d have liked to have seen it with at least a little bit of a battery option. Also, the clip that’s used to rest it on monitors – there’s a “sticky” strip on it that I assume is if you want to permanently mount it somewhere, to stabilize it? But it’s VERY sticky, and if you inadvertently remove the plastic from it, you could wind up sticking this light onto something you don’t want it to be on long-term, and it’s hard to remove. I don’t think the sticky strip is necessary, since the clip is adjustable. Other than that, while a bit pricey for what it is (at full retail), it’s a handy and well made light that’s convenient and worth trying out. It puts out enough light for most everyday needs and with the warm-to-cool variations and brightness options, is a great all-around supplemental light.

Elgato shines bright, eliminating shade on the go

Overview: Elgato’s key light has the right mix of convenience and functionality. The Neo light offers a 6” disk which removes shadow from both sides of my face, without making it hard to see the screen. Mounted on top of the screen, it’s high enough to be invisible in my glasses during most calls, yet close enough to shed the light that’s needed. The blend of portability and versatility make this a great choice for those with multiple devices and/or who travel. If you’re staying at home, a light bar will give you better results. Details: Since the light mounts to a monitor, laptop, or tablet, it’s very portable. As much as I like having a light bar at my desk, the Elgato key light shines in its ability to brighten any space I’m in while traveling. It’s not uncommon for me to take Zoom meetings in a hotel room early morning due to time zones. This key light makes it look like I’m still at my home office (with the right background replacement). Since the light brightens my face appropriately, Zoom easily can tell what’s to be replaced or blurred. The light can be powered from a USB adapter, a USB-C port (with a separate cable) or USB-A. The maximum brightness is determined by the power source. Plugged into a wall, it can go over 1000 lumens, which makes is uncomfortable to look at. My iPad Air can drive up to 600 lumens which is at the limit for what I like. It sits perched on top of the screen cradled sturdily. The front “hook” is clear plastic, assuring minimal interference with the on board camera. As clever as Elgato’s engineers are, they can’t make light take an angle that’s not there. This leaves some shadow on the edges compared to a larger ring, a light bar, or a two light solution. The single light also reduces the apparent depth compared to a longer light bar. Elgato can (and did), however, create software to control the light remotely and dial in a specific temperature and brightness. The software supports more than one light to quickly set the temperature and brightness to be consistent. Even with the one light, it’s nice to be able to dial in a specific color temperature. The light is controlled either through a USB cord connected to your machine or a WiFi connection through an access point. The PC and light don’t have to be on the same WiFi SSID, as long as they’re on the same network. I use my phone as a hotspot on the road to make sure this happens correctly. There’s also two pre-set buttons on the light itself which can be tuned to different light based on your own preferences. These can be re-set by holding the preset button until the light flashes, then turn off.

    The Bright Side Of Streaming.

Streaming can be an awesome way to pass time and feel like your amongst friends, even when it's only you and your PC. So it's important to have great lighting while you're with your new friends. Ring-lights are cool but they can also be bulky and in the way and there's a risk of knocking over the tri-pod and smashing that yhing all to pieces. You could use the lighting in your room or light from the window. But then thre's the issue of glare on your screen, or simply feeling too dim. This is where the "Elgato(Yes. The Cat) Key Light Neo" comes into play. This thing is a small, yet large light that can be hung up around you camera and monitor for that perfect splash of lighting when you make the winning shot to lead your squad, guild, or crew to victory. Or you can just look great while vlogging about your latest adventures. There's also my favorite option. The ability to place it on my screen, right next to my web-cam. This allows all of my Zoom meetings to show me in all of my adorable glory, as me and my team get things done. My live streams look so good that I've had many ask me what I'm using. They can't believe how simple it is. Sooo, with that said. You may want to put this thing( or 2) in your cart before all of my associates get them all. Just kidding.. I hope. There's really nothing bad to say about this light. It can dim and get pretty darned bright. Plus it's easy to use, with the buttons and knob right up front for your adjustment pleasure. i have the white one, but I think it also comes in black. So, it will look great in any set-up. This Elgato is a go.

If you’re an entrepreneur, streamer or even just too look good on videos this light will do the trick. It is very compact but yet powerful. The light is very easy to use. Just plug it to your laptop or PC and you’re ready to go. There are 4 buttons on each corner of the light to be used to control it manually. If you wish to control it with your PC, download the elgato control center software to access the light full controls from your desktop. That's not the only way to control it, you can also do it via Wi-FI. However, you require a USB-A power supply that handles 3 amps or more. Connecting it via Wi-Fi it can be controlled remotely from both PC and even mobile phone. The light itself is not big and is flat making it perfect for portability. This light can be mounted on top of the monitor, laptop even on tablets and will not interfere with the screen. The light is very bright and can easily adjust the tones from warm white to bright. Best of all it doesn’t run hot. In the box it comes with a USB cable, and an additional extension if you need to go a long distance. Overall this light is a great tool for those who spend a lot of time on the cameras and want a great image. It is easy to use and is compact. It is very bright with easy tone adjustment for the light, whether controlled manually or remotely. In the box you get the Light, USB-to USB-C cable, USB extension, back plate to wind the cable, monitor mount and manuals.

Unboxing was easy and straightforward. I connected the USB to the extender and to my USB hub. Then I pushed the power button, and I had light. I downloaded and installed the control center software. However, this is only for Windows/Mac and not for mobile platforms. Setup: Was straightforward. I clipped it on my monito next to my webcam for support. I did find the clip very weak so when I wanted to lean the light more forward to me it tipped over. For this you would need to get a small flash stand for your desk or floor depending on setup. Use: I found this helpful for my video (Teams/Zoom) meetings since it gave my face an overall brighter image to the attendees. I prefer the cooler tone since the warmer tone made me look like I had a tan. The software made it easy to hop in a meeting and click the power button in my taskbar vs reaching up to the light in general. I did find it plenty bright to cover me from a 12” distance. Pros: • Adds useful light to video meetings • Can be controlled within Windows • Can be set up on a flash stand for other configurations. • Remembers last settings when turned on again Cons: • Too bright after long meetings in my eyes. Can give me a headache • Clamp too weak to allow me to setup the light for off angle for less direct light in my eyes. • Wish it was in other colors to match my setup. Overall, I really like this product and find it extremely useful for its intended use.

One Key Light to Rule Them All

THIS… Is Elgatos (corsair) Neo Key light and honestly one of the most all round useful items I have bought recently. This is the next small form factor key light from elgato, and while it may be small in size and only powered by USB… I cannot state enough just how bright and easy to use this key light is. The Neo has two light modes, a white and a warm/orange light, and a dial to blend the lighting to your perfect mix. The lighting comes from the edges which is super nice as it reduces the harshness of the light, but something I wanted to point out about as often as I can i just how bright this key light is, and its even more impressive considering it is just from USB power. It is to the point that the key light has turned into a multi use lighting for me around the house due to how light and versatile it is. With my handy dandy 10ft USB-C cable, I now have a thin and mobile spotlight that can hang in most places. This key light has 700 lumens off of type c power, and up to 1000 lumen if you plug it into a powerful enough brick. This Key Lighting comes with a lip built onto it so it can hang onto monitors and tv’s super easy. The Neo comes with 4 buttons/dials on it: A power button, a white light button, a warm light button, and then a dial to blend the colors and adjust the light power. The key light also has a nifty loop system in the back that lets you wind up your cable so you don’t have any cable droop. I also enjoy that this product is made up of 60% recycled plastic, not something that ever has to be done but I like to see when it is. If you want to put it in a spot where you can’t easily reach it, elgato has a control center so you can control it from your PC as well to make things easy. All in all, Elgato really hit it out of the park with the Neo Key Light, from the ease of use to just how bright it gets… it is really hard to speak out against it. I think that this is just one of those products that is so easy to use and setup that it will get significantly more use than I originally intended. And that's not a bad thing as It has a 2 year warranty, so we don’t have to worry about the light going out for a long time. The only thing I could complain about is that there isn’t a Neo in black, but something easy for me to get over. If you are looking for a bright, easy to use and small form factor key light, then look no further as the Neo Key light has been one of if not the best key light I have ever used!

he Elgato Key Light Neo is an incredibly versatile and powerful little light designed for content creators, streamers, and professionals. It offers adjustable color temperature and brightness control for customizable, soft, eye-friendly lighting. The included mount clamp allows for easy setup and positioning, making it ideal for Zoom calls and live streaming. Additionally, the Control Center app provides convenient remote adjustments, adding to its ease of use. This light can be mounted to various types of mounts, including dedicated light stands, desk clamps, wall mounts, camera tripods, and even custom-made mounting solutions. Its sleek design and professional-grade lighting improve visibility without creating harsh shadows, ensuring a clear appearance during long sessions. However, the higher price point may be a drawback for some. Additionally, the lack of a built-in battery could reduce its versatility in certain situations. Despite this, its performance and ease of use make it a solid choice for anyone seeking reliable, high-quality lighting. Overall, the Elgato Key Light Neo is a great option for those looking for an effective, adjustable light that enhances both video quality and user comfort. I would recommend it if you can get it for a reduced price like I did and ensure you plug it into an external power supply (max. 12 Watt i.e. wall charger) to achieve its full brightness.

    Ditch the Ring Light

As someone who records weekly video updates for my company, I needed to upgrade from my old, cheap ring light. I picked up the Elgato Key Light Neo, and after using it for just a couple of recordings, I’m already impressed. The first thing I noticed was how compact and light the Key Light Neo is compared to my previous setup. It takes up like a quarter of the space, and it’s way brighter. The monitor mount that was pre-installed was sturdy enough and easy to set-up on my monitor, but I ended up using a desk mount for a more permanent solution. The Neo’s standard 1/4" thread size made it easy to swap out in place of the ring light. Right out of the gate, the brightness at 100% is incredibly powerful when plugged into a USB-C charger. I did have to experiment a bit with chargers before it enabled 100% in the app. The 18W charger that came with my tablet, for example, would only allow me to slide to 40%. The best part for me is how easy it is to control the brightness and color temperature. I use the app on my iPhone to adjust the color precisely, and I’ve been able to get the exact temperature settings my editor needs—usually around 6500K on the blue spectrum. Being able to confirm the temp precisely rather than guessing has made his job a lot easier, plus it looks great. I still think Iook washed out, but that's probably because I don't go outside much... The on-device controls are handy because for the most part I don't have to change my default setting since I block out all other ambient light in my room. So while the app was really handy to get it set-up, I really don't use it much, I just tap the power button to turn it on and the brightness knob if I need to adjust the brightness. I usually only adjust the brightness if I'm on a conference call as my green-screen recording brightness setting is a little too dim for standard Zoom calls. If you’re currently using a cheap ring light then this would be a worthy upgrade. It’s made my recordings look better, and it was easy to integrate into my workspace without taking up a lot of room. I actually feel more professional with this set-up and less like a teenaged girl making TikTok's. Highly recommended for anyone serious about their streaming or work from home video setup!

    Good light, horrible bracket

I work from home and spend a lot of time using online video meetings. I use a desktop computer with a webcam that sits on top of one of my monitors. The overhead lighting in my home office is good, but it is behind me which outs my face in the shadows when facing the camera. I had been looking for a good light that I could put above my monitor and webcam to illuminate my face better. I decided this Elgato Key Light Neo as it was advertised as being able to sit on top of my monitor, next to my webcam. I also liked that it comes with an app so it can be controlled from the computer instead of having to fiddle with its buttons. The Pros: Installation was simple, and I like that it includes a USB extension cord for plenty of length to reach the back of my desktop system unit. I downloaded the app and installed it on my computer, and it makes it very easy to control the light using my mouse. It can control the color temperature so I can get just the right tone when I’m on camera. The brightness is good and easy to adjust as well. The Elgato Key Light seems to be well-made and has a quality feel to it. The cord keeper on the back is a nice touch, too, in case you want to carry it along with your laptop. The Cons: The included user manual is tiny and skimpy, but it’s not really needed as the controls are very intuitive. The light can be uncomfortably bright when staring into it. Of course that’s going to be the case with any light, but it’s worse because of the angle I have to use with it sitting it on top of my monitor. Ideally I’d like to have it tilted downward, but it falls off. The bracket is my main complaint of this light as it’s nearly worthless. The part of the bracket that rests on the back of the monitor has a sticky pad on it, but it’s nowhere near strong enough to “attach” the monitor. It’s very top-heavy and really needed a good counterweight or “grippier” bracket. The bracket can be removed and it has a standard threaded mount for a tripod, but that would negate its utility of being placed on top of the monitor. I do have it balanced and can use it, but If I try to tilt the light down toward me at all, it falls off of the monitor. In fact, if I touch it at all, the light will fall off. That makes using the computer control all the more important so I don’t have to touch the light, which will knock it off the monitor. The poor design of the bracket is the main reason for my 3 out of 5 star rating. For the price of this Elgato Key Light Neo, the backet should be much more robust.

I always wondered how I could get better lighting in my home office for video calls. I guess I answered that question with the Elgato Key Light Neo. I work hybrid and spend a good amount of time on Zooms/Teams calls and even though I have a decent webcam, my home office tends to be on the darker side. I picked up the Elgato Key Light Neo and could not be happier! The build quality is nice and feels well made. Crafted with sturdy plastics, it feels solid, unlike some flimsy alternatives I have seen. The design is nice, and the physical controls are easy to use. One button for warm light, another for cool light, and rotary knob for controlling brightness. This compact LED light mounts directly to the top of a monitor and is easy to position. This light is incredibly flexible and has some really cool features that can be accessed in a few different ways. Download the mobile companion app, the desktop app, or just manage it with the hardware controls. You can plug directly into an available USB port or plug into a USB wall adapter and control it wirelessly from your phone. Don’t forget to checkout the quick start guide to get the rundown on all the available features. This key light was perfect for providing a soft, diffused glow that looked natural and removed harsh shadows. I thought it produced an awesome look on camera. If you spend a lot of time on video calls like me, or just on a web cam in general, this is a good choice for an adjustable and compact key light.

The Elgato Key Light Neo is an amazing light. Upon opening the package it comes with 2 USB cables, mount and no wall adapter ( which by now, I'm not surprised). The mount was easy to put on. Very slim and lightweight light, which makes it easy to take anywhere. It was a bit tricky to put it on the monitor, it does have a sticky part on the mount which allows you to be able to stick in on the back of the monitor for more secure support but mine was a flimsy. So you have to kind play around with it so it wouldn’t fall off. There are 2 options lighting cool and warm white. You can adjust the level of brightness to your liking. Theres also the app, in my opinion is not really needed since all it does is just control the settings which all can be done from the light itself so the app is useless( again my opinion). This light is great from Zoom calls, video recording also to do your makeup, yup you heard that right. I was able to mount the light to a tripod that I have to hold my phone. That was something I just had to tried and it worked and Im glad I did because now I have another use for it. This light just makes videos and pictures look good and provides great lighting with out hurting your eyeballs. I wished this had a rechargeable battery, but other than that this is an amazing light that comes in handy.

My current office setup leaves a lot to be desired when it comes to lighting. While there is plenty of natural light in the room, my desk sits in a bit of a cave and there is no direct lighting above to offset the issue. I’ve been looking for a solution for a while now and had the opportunity to pick up this new key light from Elgato. Everything is very simple to set up right out of the box, and it took no time at all to get up and running. You can change color temperature as well as the brightness of the the light, and when it’s turned all the way up you definitely feel like you’re delivering the evening news on a Teams call instead of hanging out at home. There were a couple of things that led my rating to a 4 instead of a 5. For one, The light itself is on the larger side and the hardware you use to keep it balanced on your monitor is not so much. It towers over my webcam and looks a little silly as a result. I had a bit of a time adjusting it to where the unit wouldn’t wobble if the chair hit the desk. Additionally, I find that there are times it just doesn’t want to turn back on after being off for a while and that requires unplugging and plugging back in the USB cable. It could very well be something with my USB dock and not the unit, but I’ve had a couple calls where I’ve had to reach around and do the quick maneuver to get it back up and running. All in all, I’d say this is a good value for anyone who needs to get better lighting for on camera calls and offers enough adjustability to meet your needs.

Love My Corsair Elgato Key Light Neo!

I was pleased to receive this Elgato Key Light Neo as I do a lot of singing with videos using an online website. I figured this would add the perfect lighting touch to them and it certainly does. It arrives with the Key Light Neo, a monitor mount with 1/4" thread, USB-C to USB-A 2.0 cable which is 39.4 inches long and a USB-A to USB-A extension cable measuring 59.1 inches for longer runs. I felt the extra extension cord was a great addition as most things arrive with one short cable and you end up hunting for another longer one. You can use this light in the USB mode or WiFi mode. You must supply your own electrical power with a minimum of 3A and it works with Windows or Mac. Some specs on the light are the color range is from 2900k-7000k, power consumption is up to 15W and the connectivity can be either 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz. It measures 5.9" x 5.9" x 1.49" deep and weighs 0.54 lbs. You can download the optional Control Center app if desired. I simply used the controls on front of the light as it sits firmly on the monitor next to my webcam. There is a clear plastic piece in front that fits over the monitor edge and the back is adjustable. The adhesive that is attached to the back doesn't even touch my monitor but the light is sturdy with no problems staying up there. Corsair wants you to plug the USB directly into a port and not a hub unless you use electricity of course. Once all set up I pressed the power button on the upper right corner. Then I proceeded to set the brightness and color temperature modes. You just turn the dial on the lower right and it adjusts everything. There is a preset button number 1 on the left for desktop lighting and a button 2 for video lighting. You can save your selection by holding in the preset button for 3 seconds which is a great feature once you find that perfect fit for your situation. I really love this light as it softens and diffuses beautifully. I personally prefer the cool color. I did a few videos and was just so pleased with the outcome. My webcam has a small ring light and I also have a large floor standing ring light but since receiving this one I am only using it ~ showing me at my best. I'm very impressed that it's so easy to use and of the quality this Elgato Key Light Neo offers. Definitely can recommend the purchase and it has a well deserved 5 star rating!

I wasn’t too sure about the light when I opened it since the mounting clip seemed rather large and cumbersome. However, once I got it up on my monitor, it didn’t feel quite so bulky. I was able to mount it on top of my HP monitor without using the sticky. While it’s not an extremely heavy light, it did tilt my ultra thin monitor a bit that I have mounted on arms, not on a stand, since the arms have a little give. I saw that you can take the top of the monitor mounting clip off and you can attach the light to other mounts, so that’s a plus - I could take it off of my monitor that way and still have my light in front of me where I need it. No more monitor tilt and still good light placement. It has two types of lighting - warm and cool, which I thought is less than my little ring-shaped light I’ve been using…UNTIL I discovered that this has an app for it, and you can adjust either light type further and it has quite a bit of range. Depending on the light in the room, the meeting platform you’re using, etc., you can adjust as needed. It also has an easy dial right on the front of the light for turning the brightness up and down, which is handy when you’re starting an impromptu meeting and need to adjust. It plugs into a USB port and has an extension if you need more length. The maximum brightness is limited by what you have it plugged into, but even at 40% max, it’s plenty bright for my use. I like the diffuseness of the light - much better than my old light. I can have it pretty bright and it still doesn’t feel like it’s blinding me. The lighting is even and shows me lit nicely in my online meetings. It and its mount fold up to easily be taken with you. I’d say watch for a sale, since it’s a little pricey at regular price (hence the 4 stars instead of 5), but overall, it’s a great video meeting light!

I really like the lighting on this light, but I've had a few problems. SO the lighting has a color range from a cool 2900 to warm 7000 that you can adjust with the knob in the bottom right hand corner to fit your skin tone, room lighting, or color style. It's a very soft light and Ive attached to photos, one with natural light and the other with the light. The brightness of the light is also controlled by that knob, so it very convenient. You can save two lighting profiles as well if you want to keep your favorite lighting profiles. The functionality of the light itself is great. My problem is as a Mac owner and MacBook owner. First my Mac screen is slightly curved in the back and the stickiness of the pad that holds the base was not sticky enough to stop the light from crashing down multiple times which means I can't use it on that. It did handle the falls well without a scratch. I then went to try it on my Macbook, but this plugs into a USB outlet which Apple got rid of for multiple USB C's. I do have a port on my desk and the provided cord is long enough, so it works. However, sometimes it works when it's off. It just flashes every now and then, typically when there is extra power to the power port such as starting my laptop or awaking my Mac. This light, which has a great range of soft light can be great if the reverse voltage off/on problem was fixed and it used a USB C with extra sticky backing to not fall off my Mac monitor.

The Elgato key light has great features. There are different light modes, a warm light versus bright white, and it has a dimmer feature which is great, the light is also flattering! Each corner is a different button with a different function, lower right is the dimmer, upper right is the power, lower left is the warm light and upper left is the bright white. It comes with a USB cord, a plastic piece that fits on the back to wrap the cord if needed, plus an extension USB cord in case you are plugging in even farther away. I have it plugged into one of my laptop's USB and it works great. Working from home, during the winter months, in Teams calls, I have been told my camera is too dim, even with the room lights on. This really helps with that! It's bigger than I expected, about the size of my hand, but can fit on the back of your monitor or be balanced somewhere else. I have a ledge on my desk and have it clamped there, and I'm glad I have it! This is a great extra light source that hardly takes up any room that will be super convenient when these winter days are extra dark.

This light is small but can get really bright. I purchased 2 of them but really, 1 will do for most cases. The elgato software is hands down the best. Makes streaming super easy!

I was under the assumption that the key light neo would only give off so much light, and that larger investments would eventually be needed to properly light my conference call/gaming desk space - Nope. The light is plenty bright, and a second one will work as a the fill light.
