The Epson EcoTank ET-4950 is a very good all-around printer that delivers excellent value, especially for users who print frequently. Once set up correctly, it performs extremely well and saves a significant amount of money on ink. Pros: ✔ Exceptional value for the price — long-term ink savings easily justify the upfront cost ✔ Extremely low ink costs thanks to the EcoTank system ✔ Very high ink yield ✔ Fast print speeds ✔ Easy installation and setup for basic printing ✔ Duplex printing and duplex scanning work very well once properly configured ✔ Excellent print quality on both regular paper and photo glossy paper ✔ Photos print beautifully with great color and resolution Cons: ✖ Duplex printing setup is confusing – Required settings in the print menus are not obvious – If you don’t know what to change, duplex printing can be frustrating to configure – The output tray automatically extends during printing, which is nice, but there is no documentation explaining how to retract it – A very small, hard-to-notice icon at the top of the display must be tapped to retract the tray—this is not intuitive – It took three hours on the phone with tech support to resolve duplex printing issues – During troubleshooting, the printer printed one side, paused about 30 seconds, then printed the second side; this was resolved after installing the correct drivers and adjusting print menu settings ✖ Duplex scanning is very sensitive to paper condition – Requires pristine paper – Any bends, creases, or imperfect alignment can cause paper jams – Paper guides must be set precisely to avoid feeding issues Overall Impression: Despite some frustrating setup and customer support issues—especially related to duplex printing—the Epson EcoTank ET-4950 delivers outstanding ink savings, strong performance, and excellent print quality. huge upgrade over our last printer. bought this primarily for the automatic document feeding and automatic duplex printing. i also love being able to ditch ink cartridges. the only downside so far is that automatic duplex printing is not available for A5, which to be honest was the main size we wanted to print double-sided (for planner refills) so that’s a bit of a bummer, to put it lightly. it does work fine for A4 though, so i suppose we’ll just be buying a guillotine to print two sets at once and cut in half.

After using cartridge-based ink jet printers over the years, I finally purchased the Eco Tank. Why did I wait so long?! Maybe it was the higher acquisition cost, but in a short time I have learned that the cost of ownership is much more affordable. A great printer that balances speed, print quality, functionality and cost of consumables. The automated document feeder is a great feature.

This Epson 4950 ecotank is great. The print quality is top notch and the ability to print form your phone is nice too. We use it on a daily at the church and this Epson ecotank fits all your needs. All around great purchase.

This printer is a good business printer for business Fast and ink saver

Best Buy was one of the few places that had this available in black. Fits in with things a little nicer than the white version. So far, it's working great. Printing text or pictures, all sharp and high quality. The starter bottles of ink are large enough to fill the tanks, perform the initial priming, and then top them back off to full. That was a nice touch, since the prime on a new unit does take a fair bit of ink. A couple of nice features are the automated output tray, which extends when printing and stows when powered off, and how the top document feeder is made to fold up to a completely flat surface when not in use. After reading a lot of terrible reviews on the mobile app, I elected to just do the setup via the control panel on the printer, which was not difficult at all. Happy so far, hope it holds up over time.

I purchased the ET-4950 after a lot of research to find the right balance between price, ink cost (cartridge-free), color accuracy, print quality, and ease of maintenance. Thanks to Epson Connect and Google Apps Script, I managed to set up a print schedule to print a page at least once a week so that I don't have to worry about nozzle clogging.

I am so glad this printer was Highly Recommended to me and I am no saving on replacing all the time. It is a supreme printer for all jobs. It also has the fax ability which was very important for me.

Very pleased with this printer. Truly an all in one device and the print speed is great, as well as the ease on ink loading and everything else. The one thing that might give me pause is the size of the touch screen. There are cheaper printers with bigger screens. But this one does all i need it to do.

It was a gift for my wife. The whole eco-tank is new to her but Epson has always been her brand of choice. She loves it.

Just got it, but I'm pleased with it so far. Not many all-in- ones have fax anymore, which is one of the reasons I bought this one. I'm hoping the refillable ink tanks prove economical. Screen is a little small, but it pops out for easier reading.

I've really been liking this printer. I had been wanting to change over to an ecotank, and so far I have not been disappointed.

Once I worked out password issues, it was very easy to set up and works quite well for my purposes. It’s a good little machine.

Setup was super easy. Prints beautifully. This is my 2nd Epson Ecotank. My last one i used like a workhose and it lasted really well.
