What can I say... love my Eufy cams! I have full PoE cameras at my home, however, I needed something for a vacation property (about 2 hours away) where wiring was not an option. Also dealing with CC&Rs, so had to mount one of the cameras custom (see photo), using the black silicone sleeve. I was using Blink, which were okay, but there were several issues that made me want to switch to something better (slow response to no response, recording time limitations, poor video quality, etc...). Then I found Eufy. Did some research, seemed as good as Arlo without the stupid need for the cloud storage service (Eufy offers a cloud storage service but it is not required or needed). So I took a chance. The 2K Pro cameras are amazing. They are wide angle, which is not a problem for my application, just an FYI. The quality of the camera itself is incredible, very stout and well built. Battery life has been great. Features are excellent and growing. Setup was easy. Distance ability from the base unit to the cameras is exceptional. I am using the base unit wired, but after setup wired, the base can be switched to wireless if needed (like for better base unit placement). Overall I couldn't be more pleased, and I am very happy to not be paying a monthly fee! #GetEufy

Very happy! Does everything I expected and more. Easy mounting. Easy setup. The clarity of the camera is really good. Night vision is crisp and clear. Better than expected. The ability to customize how the cameras operate is awesome. Selecting active zones to prevent false alerts, as well as sensitivity level options. Awesome! I've had the system installed now for several weeks, and haven't had any issues. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a fast, affordable, flexible solution for their home.

    Big upgrade from 2c

I upgraded two eufy 2c cams. Like others have stated the biggest difference is at dusk and at night. Faces are way better too. On the 2c cameras I could tell when my friends and family were on cam but I couldn't pick a stranger out of a line up based off the video the 2c was pushing. the 2k cams are so much clearer! I can't comment on the battery life since I've only had them a few days but my 2c's used to last about 4-5 months so I'm hoping I get closer to a year with these. Overall happy with purchase. The only thing I don't care for with these is the night mode with the spot light. On the 2c you had an option to set it so that the spotlight comes on when motion is detected. With these it just has an "Auto Night Mode" which I haven't been able to get the spot light to come on or figure out if/when it comes on. Overall not a big deal though since I have motion activated flood lights next to the cams anyway.

Bought these cameras and installed them on my house. One in my driveway and one at my front door They are good quality picture day and night The batteries on the cameras are long lasting. I have had them installed for about six months now and the battery indicator shows that they are half charged. It’s very nice to have a camera that shows you the battery status on your phone screen. These cameras also alert you if it’s a person or just motion, they actually paid for them selves for me One day while at work, my phone alerted me person in driveway I actually caught a thief in my driveway stealing some stuff. I was able to talk to them on the camera from my phone while I was at work and told them that I could see them and I would file charges on them and got them to put the stuff back. Love these cameras no monthly payments for app required. I purchased them install them download camera app on my phone it was that simple.

Had the system for a little over a year. Have not had to charge the cameras yet. They do an excellent job of capturing motion and recognizing humans. You can also zoom in. Night mode is really nice. The local storage is perfect to avoid a subscription. Resolution is exactly what I need it to be - clear enough to make out clothes, faces, etc. And I love catching the critters on camera! Would buy again.

    Best Battery Camera so far.

Coming from an Arlo Pro 2, I decided to ditch those cameras and replace it with these. I can only compare these to Arlo Cameras since they’re the ones I’ve owned before, so other manufacturers may vary. When shopping for battery cameras, first thing you wanna check is battery life. My Arlos only last around 3-4 weeks. After that, you have to charge it again. Oh, and the Arlos are finicky with what kind of wall adapter you charge it with too. My Arlos won’t charge using Apple bricks. This Eufycam is still at 100% with more than a 100 events detected, so their claim of 365 day battery might be true. Detection and AI is also important as it would mean a difference of getting a thousand notifications with almost all of them false detections. In order to get smart AI with Arlo, you need to subscribe for about $3 per camera. Eufycams have those built in. So that’s less expenses for the user. Arlo and Eufy are both easy to setup. So they’re both kinda equal in that regard. It deviates more with HomeKit integration though, where Arlo takes a lot of hoops to go through versus Eufy setting up in the app or by scanning the HomeKit code. HomeKit Secure Video only supports 1080p though, so I opted not to connect through it. There’s also been reports of high battery usage when connected to HKSV. Alarm sounds are pretty much the same on both Arlo and Eufy base stations. One thing I like about Arlo though, is even if someone tries to steal your camera, as long as it’s paired to your account, no one can use it. I’m not sure how Eufy cameras work in that regard, but Eufy has Anti-Theft alarms in the event someone moves the camera with it on. Overall, Eufycams are a great value, less hassle and gets the job done. There is an issue with white flashes at the start of the video but they said it’s gonna be fixed on the next firmware update. A minor inconvenience but still, it gets the job done.

    Best "wire-free" system out there!

By far the best "wire-free" security system on the market. It's 2K, great app, good looking camera, comes with two types of mounts, stores the footage locally instead of an expensive "cloud" somewhere. And that battery lasts a looooong time. Much better than either running wires thru your attic, or paying $500 to have a "professional" do it. I'm really impressed. Actually just bought two more add on cams while they're on sale for $99… May as well take advantage! Love it! Thumbs up!

I love my eufycam 2 pro. It's working great and the battery life is up to 365 days but it depends on how you set up. If you want more recording videos, more alerts and notification the battery will drain a little bit more faster. But no need to worry it's rechargable. The video quality is good 2k resolution. I use my cell phone to set up the systems and the best thing is I still can get the alerts and notification even I'm far from home. That's good!

Theses security cameras that I bought have great video and works just fine. I placed one at my front door outside entrance and one at the back door entrance. The video is great but the alarm sound isn't loud enough to warn your neighbors. I like the two way speakers to be able to speak to anyone who shows up on your video cameras.

Wonderful product . I have since purchased two more of these cámaras . Love the clarity of the images and the security functions available. Does a great job of recording people and conversation. These I use in front and back yard as they offer anti theft security and allow me to put an alarm that goes off if anyone gets near my patio area while I’m away . It’s great ! Greatly recommend!

These work good. I splurged for the 2k cameras so we can view license plates. 2k cameras allow me to blow the license plates do they are legible. We’ve have a couple I can incidents where my wife was followed home. Only reason for 4 stars is the screw mounts are cheap and broke try to mount them. They come with magnetic mounts that are much better. App works well and cameras are good quality.

I’ve tried a few other wireless external IP cameras but did not like the fact that they required frequent recharging. What happens if we go on vacation or if I simply don’t want to climb a ladder to retrieve the camera in snow, rain, ice or other elements? I wanted a wireless solution that did not require me to frequently recharge cameras or install a hardwired DIY surveillance system. The combination of a promised one year battery life between charges and no forced subscription requirement made Eufycam 2 a compelling option to consider. This Eufy system consists of the Homebase and two cameras. Setup was easy and quick to complete. In a nutshell, you - Connect the Homebase 2 to your router - Install the Eufy Security app on a smart device and create an account - Add the Homebase 2 and cameras to the app - Place the cameras and that’s it The Homebase 2 is small, rectangular, non-obtrusive and super easy to connect to a home router. Just plug it into an open ethernet port on your router using the included ethernet cable and plug in the included power cord. It contains 16gb of internal memory. It also has a USB port which I assume will be accommodate additional external storage at some point. I wasn’t expecting the female voice prompt which nearly made me jump out of my shoes when it suddenly started speaking very loudly out of nowhere during setup. There are some additional sound effects as well. Despite all initially being a little on the loud side, I found them all entertaining. Some even remind me of retro video games. I’d like to lower the volume of the Homebase 2 but there doesn’t appear to be a way to do so. The setup guide instructs how to properly charge the cameras but does not mention whether or not an initial charge of the cameras is needed. Turns out the cameras do need to be charged before first use. It’s not in the paper setup guide but the app instructs to do so during the camera portion of the setup. I assumed as much and charged both cameras before beginning the setup, which allowed me to perform the entire setup at once without interruption. I suggest charging the cameras first to avoid beginning setup only to be forced to stop and wait a few hours to resume. Each camera charged for approximately three hours before the charging indicator light turned off. The user guide says a fully drained battery takes roughly 8 to 12 hours to fully recharge. The charging cable and port are old-school micro-USB and only one charging cable is included. Thankfully, I have a ton of spare micro-USB cables laying around the house. The cameras can either be charged through the hub or with an optional AC wall adapter. I used my iPad charger because it was within the recommended charger spec of 5v/2a. Given the fact that battery life is supposed to last a year, I’m not really concerned about the number of cables or the exclusion of a wall charger. The two included cameras easily pair to the Homebase 2 with the push of a button. They need to be within one meter of the Homebase when paired, so make sure to pair them before mounting. The system ships with outdoor and indoor camera mounts. The outdoor mount is a direct attachment and the indoor mount attaches via a strong magnet that attaches quite strongly to the camera’s internal magnet. The camera can also be attached directly to a metal surface via the internal magnet but I’m not a big fan of that method. The magnet feels strong enough to hold the camera in light winds but I wouldn’t trust it to survive really strong wind gusts or the weight of a bird landing on it. Viewing angles are adjustable with either mount. Regardless of which fixed mount is selected, it must be securely attached to a wall or other mounting surface using screws. I have a stucco exterior, so I had to be extra careful about where I mounted the cameras but the mounts seem sufficient for easy installation on less fragile surfaces like wood or vinyl siding. The user guide suggests mounting the cameras 7-10 feet high and to avoid placing them in direct sunlight. One neat feature if you can’t mount the cameras high enough to avoid tampering is an alarm that will sound if the camera is moved. This can be toggled on and off. The HD video quality is very good and much better than I expected. With a one-year battery life, I was expecting worse quality. Although it isn’t streaming 4K at 60fps, it’s very clear and more than sufficient for my home use. Video quality can be adjusted within the app. All videos have date/time stamps which can be toggled on and off. The facial recognition feature is pretty cool. If a human face is detected, a small zoomed and cropped photo of the face is included with the video clip. The cameras also record sound, which is clear and decipherable even at lower volumes. Two-way conversation works well and both parties can hear each other clearly. Night vision is sharp and clear although it is infrared monochrome rather than full color like some systems. The wifi signal of both cameras is consistently strong with an external camera on each side of the house. I’m using a mesh system with multiple satellite routers, but another neat feature of the Homebase 2 is that it also works as a wifi extender. Although not quite a mesh system, it can help boost signal strength in a single router setup. It’ll be a while before I can verify whether the camera battery life actually lasts an entire year but so far the battery level hasn’t budged at all despite the cameras running and recording 24x7 for several days outside in the summer heat, humidity and rain. There is a tiny bit of latency with streaming but nothing I would consider abnormal or troublesome. I’ve experienced similar latency on just about all my other wireless camera systems, including those with pricey paid subscriptions and cloud storage. I can definitely live with it on a subscription-free system as robust as this. The app is very intuitive and easy to use. All features are logically arranged and easy to find. There are four tabs on the bottom as well as a drop down menu in the top left. I find myself using the bottom tabs almost exclusively and almost never use the drop down menu unless it is to change an account related setting. The drop down menu provides access to device, user, account and system settings, some of which overlap with the bottom tabs. The bottom tabs are sorted into four categories: devices, events, security and explore. The device tab allows access to cameras for live viewing, two-way conversations and setting changes. It also allows access to the Homebase 2 settings. The events tab displays all recorded and administrative events sorted by day and time and allows playback of recorded videos. The security tab allows you to enable or disable the system, put it in away or home mode, set up geofencing (currently still in beta mode) and set a schedule for monitoring. There is also an automation section under the security tab that allows the creation of automated actions per device. The default automation is for the camera to record whenever a motion alert is triggered. The are currently only two automation options available at the moment (record or sound an alarm) but it’s nice to have control over how a camera behaves when triggered. I also like being able to set an alarm to sound if someone enters an area they shouldn’t be on our property. I’m hopeful automation will become more robust and useful with time. We are really enjoying the Eufycam 2 system so far and find it currently meets all our security camera needs. I don’t have to climb a ladder every few days to bring the cameras in to recharge and they have so far exceeded our expectations as far as reliability of alerts and recording quality. Not being forced into an expensive subscription plan is huge and will hopefully lead to more companies doing the same. I’ve never understood why some companies force users into expensive subscriptions when we have virtually limitless storage available and are more than capable of setting up our own cloud or local storage. Although they don’t appear to allow using your own storage yet, it appears on the horizon. All I can say is Anker gets it. It’s refreshing to see a company not try to shamelessly squeeze every last penny they can out of consumers.

Read decent reviews online and went with Eufy over Arlo to save $50 but mostly because they don't require a subscription and can be saved to an SD card. I do like how clear the camera is at night in color, night vision seems like it's only needed if you're in a pitch black cave so that's good I guess. That's about all the good I have to say about it. Now the bad. For starters, the app is a little overwhelming. I just need security cameras, no auctions, online stores, chat areas or whatever else is on there, I haven't made through everything yet. The lag for notifications is crazy long, sometimes 3 minutes before I'm ever notified of a motion, I time it from the notification of my Ring stickup cam which is in the middle of my two Eufy cams. The sound sensitivity should be able to be adjusted IMO, not just them, my Ring can is pretty sensitive but the Eufy 2k are ear piercing while not picking up deeper sounds (such as my voice) well at all. I was talking while loading tools in my truck to see how it recorded and you couldn't make out one word over what I can best describes ad the sound of banging marbles next to your eardrum. I've posted screenshots for this, one camera hardly records much more than a black screen, the other records me like I'm a ghost sometimes and in no way shape or form can make it a single facial feature. Before you ask, no, I have zero issues with my internet. Both cams and modem have full connection and I've got more than enough internet speed to support 10 of these cameras along with all my other smart home stuff. Extremely disappointed with my purchase so far but I'm not one to give up easily so I'll give these a chance till the holiday weekend is over and see if maybe they work out their own kinks. If not I'll be returning them and going with the Arlo pro 3 set.

A Good Wireless System With A Lot of Options.

The Eufycam 2 Pro security camera system is among the newest developed by Eufy Security (owned by Anker, maker of a variety of tech products). Eufy now has several security camera products on the market, adding to your choices for wireless cameras to secure your home and property. They share some similarities to other brands on the market, but there are a few differences as well. My particular system is a 2 camera system with a bump up in resolution to 2K, as opposed to 720p (common) or 1080p (most common) in many of today’s other systems. A standout feature is the battery life – up to a full year per charge. Eufy boasts “military grade 256 bit encryption” now with this model, as well as enhanced night vision and better separation of detecting people vs animals, etc if you so choose. All of these upgrades to come at a bit of a price, literally and figuratively – the cameras are fairly large compared to most, in order to house the better quality lens, batteries, and a strong magnet used to secure it to the half-ball shaped indoor magnetic mounts. Setup is straightforward. You connect the small base station (under 6 inches tall) to your model/router and plug it in, download the eufy security app on IOS or Android, and follow the setup instructions. You pair the base station to the app first, let it do any firmware updates it says are ready, and then add your camera(s) via a sync button on each (easy and quick). Initially, your base will need to be connected to the router, but once that’s done, you can go into the base station’s settings on the app and set it up to act as a wireless repeater, where you can then place it elsewhere in the house to get better reception on the cameras. It’s not magic – I found that after about 25 feet it started to get a weak signal, but it still gives you options compared to other systems that require a hard connection. Once everything is in sync you are able to view live video or recorded clips via the app (keep in mind extensive use of live video does reduce battery life). Camera settings allow for a variety of choices. You can adjust the length of recorded clips, notifications, motion sensitivity, video quality, audio settings (as you can send/receive sound through the cameras), and more. You can even set these up so that if someone attempts to steal a camera, it (should) sound an alarm on both the camera and the base station in order to deter the theft. Zones can be set to avoid a bush for instance that moves in the wind, and you can set things up to turn on at certain times of the day, or geofence. The system is homekit compatible and will work through Alexa, though I don’t have a video Alexa device to test this on. The two camera system came with two magnetic orb style mounts and two with tripod screws in them for more security and stability outdoors. The magnetic ones are best for indoor use, though they offer less options for placing/moving the camera into various positions. I mounted one on my back deck near a gate, and image quality was very good in daylight. Video quality was also good, though like all other wireless cameras there will be an occasional frame studder. Also keep in mind that with 2K resolution, if set at “best”, you will need very GOOD, very fast, wifi (upload speed) to get the best quality video into the base station. Night vision is very good compared to other wireless systems, though not quite as good as wired ones I’ve seen. No doubt more tweaking will be involved to get the very best, but the outdoor camera didn’t have a problem detecting a person walking around on the deck, or my neighbor’s Cat, though it did miss a Squirrel that was darting around at dusk. Indoor video is better than average in good light, and pretty good in low light – about what can be expected. Motion detection seems snappy so far on the indoor camera as well. You will get best results if you can hard wire the base station into your model for the fasted internet connection as opposed to the wifi option, though. Storage is on a built-in 16 gig chip inside the base unit. There is no memory card slot on this model’s base, though there is a USB port that is supposed to allow for additional storage and video/image transfer options. Eufy says in 1-2 months they will have their own USB device for more storage. Cloud storage is will be available allegedly for an additional fee, but it’s not really mentioned on their web site yet, and at the time of this writing, and they said if things go well, they should have a cloud storage option to offer users in 2-3 months (late Summer/early Fall 2020). There is no battery backup option for the 2 pro base station. So, the pluses: Very good image and video quality for a wireless camera system. Very good battery life. Easy setup. You are not forced into monthly subscriptions for video storage. Water/weather resistant (though I’d still try to put them under eaves, on porches, etc). Now, the minuses: The free local storage is great, but if let’s say your house catches on fire, or a burglar finds the base station and steals it, you have no secondary storage off-site and you lose your videos. The cameras have to be taken down to charge (no swappable batteries); long battery life if you don’t use it a ton, but again, something to keep in mind that at least 1-3 times per year, you’ll be taking them down for a 12 hour recharge. VERY good, very fast wifi needed to get the 2K advantage. Cameras are large and not discreet (though I have seen silicone “skins” of varying colors online to help camo them). You’d think with a longer list of minuses, I don’t like the eufy system, but actually, I really do. I’ve tested several of the more popular wireless systems, and I’d place the Eufycam 2 Pro among the best of them in several ways. As long as your wifi speeds and range can handle it, and you have the patience to tweak the settings to get the best out of it for you, I think many will be happy with it.

I would recommend this to a friend
