I have satellite television, but also have an old antenna on my roof. I run coax from the OTA antenna into the back of the Recast, scan for local channels from towers 30 miles away. I get over 50 digital channels in the Albany, NY area. The channel guide shows up nicely on all the Amazon Fire TV devices I have and the OTA channels are easy to access. The DVR works great also. When I cord cut I won't have to buy local channels on streaming services. Plus, 50+ local channels is more the streaming services offer.

I am old fashion and still have antenna on my house. The recast has allowed me to record many shows at one time or individually, My biggest problem I had was the directions. I did not realize I had to use a Ipad or Iphone to set it up. It said to go on screen and I assumed TV screen not computer screen. I still give it a 5 star because of convience of recording. I also recommended this to my brother.

If you live in a larger household, consider buying this over the smaller, less expensive unit. The additional tuners allow you to watch different local channels across many devices at the same time. This is critical if you have multiple members of the household watching content. The larger household also makes the added cost easier to justify. I have lots of Amazon Fire TV devices throughout the house, so I have officially cut the cord. Couldn't be happier with the setup.

This item is self explanatory. Hook it up as directed (paired with proper antenna for your area) and you now have a DVR for Over the Air (OTA) channels. Easy to hook up, doesn't require to be next to the computer or TV, pick the best location in the house for the antenna signal. Needed items: 1. Antenna 2. Wifi 3. FireTV stick Once paired with your account, local channels come up on the DVR menu. Favorited channels stay to the top of the guide making it easy to find what you are looking for.

This will allow you to record your over the air TV programs! This will save you money from month to month, as most cable/satellite companies charge you for local TV programs! Works great and sure glad I made the switch! My version of the Fire TV Recast has 4 tuners in it, so it allows me to tape more than 1 program at the same time! I give it high marks works excellent!

I cut the cord and this product allows me to record the over the air tv programs and store them for us to watch at a later time. I almost never give anything a 5, but this one is close.

Most of all, I like this product. I love controlling it with Alexa, however, when I talk to Alexa it pauses whatever I'm watching. Kind of annoying. I cannot modify the channel menu to not show channels I don't want, only to show channels I "favorite". For a cable cutting, non-subscription device, I would recommend this to anyone. A bit pricey if you don't get it on sale but worth it in the long run.

Love this thing! Free dvr after initial purchase and updates guide for FREE! Also adds apps like Pluto & Sling channels among others to the guide and are able to add favorite channels. Best bang for the buck if you're already in the Fire ecosystem.

Easy setup and love how it stabilizes my stations. Also love that I can tape and watch different channels at the same time. I cut the cord on cable and got this to save money in the future and it will have served it’s purpose in no time.

Simple installation and works great with my 4k firesticks. Easy guide and has been flawless so far recording our season passes over the local tv stations. Video quality has been good too!

This product was very easy to setup. You will need a good antenna setup, which I already had. Within a short time I had my OTA channels completely integrated with my Fire TV setup. The guide you get for the channels is great compared to the very primitive one we had with our smart TV. I think there is a bit more work for Amazon to do with the interface but overall I am happy with my purchase. One think to know upfront is even with the 4 tuner model you can only stream on 2 TV's at once.

I really like this device, but it is not perfect. I will say, it is not as good as my Tivo, but it comes close. The interface does not give me a grid like Tivo and shows are harder to delete, which I hope Amazon will fix with future software upgrades.

After reviewing and purchasing the Amazon Fire Recast, it perfectly compliments my Fire Stick 4K for IPTV. Unable to record shows on IPTV I used this for hooking up to my exterior antenna and I am now able to record broadcast TV from Toledo. This made recoding ABC, NBC, Fox and CBS a reality. Easy set up. I would not recommend this for anyone not receiving a good signal though.

I decided to cut the cable and receive streaming and over the air TV. I connected the Amazon Recast to a ClearStream 2 Max antenna that I installed in the attic. I was able to find 80 channels. The Recast enabled me to record the shows I wanted and view the live channels or recordings on 2 TVs, an Echo Show and on my iPhone. What surprised me was my ability to watch live TV or recordings on my iPhone while exercising at the gym. I did encounter a few glitches, but nothing serious. The record series function didn't always work, but I still could record individual episodes. I also had difficulty connecting to my Echo Show. Part of this problem was the lack of instructions for making the recast work with an Echo Show.

I originally bought the 500GB and liked it so much I gave it to my mother when I realized how much I liked it. Watch live or recorded OTA anywhere in the house you have a Fire TV device AND on the go!!

This is the best thing ever. You can record live tv and have a guide without paying subscription fees. It will record a series with a touch of a button and you don't have to worry about a thing. It's as good as a tivo hand down.

Easy setup. Some times it hangs requiring to checkout completely by getting to the HOME spot in the Fire Stick

Absolutely love the Recast. Saves me money each month on my streaming subscription. I also like how I can combine Recast with other streaming channels on the same Amazon DVR guide.
