After trying other cord cutting DVR’s, I have finally come upon the best! Love the layout of the home page and the ease of use overall. Mine has the large 1 TB hard drive, so I’ll never miss another of my favorite shows. Highly recommend!

If you have Fire sticks or cubes on your TVs already, this is a great way to use a single antenna to provide local channels to each tv. Buy a great antenna and you won’t be disappointed.

Bought this for my Orta antenna and now I can record and watch local channels. I have this for viewing on 4 different tv’s plus I can see my recordings while away from home on my wireless device.

It’s pretty good. The only thing I don’t like is your need cubes or sticks for it to work really well

Hook up to my out door antenna. Get more local channels . Connect to my 4 tb external Hard drive. I have total of 5 tb for my record tv. I be able to watch live tv and dvr on. My cell phone away from home

It is easy to navigate and paired with fire stick very easy. However, for some reasons, it lost wirless connection which I need to restart the DVR occasionlly. I wish the Recast has a feature to send a message to my phone via text/email whenever the connection is lost so I won't miss any scheduled recording shows.

This is a decent recording system but we do have issues. It drops shows and doesn't always record the scheduled programs. We have reported this to Amazon and have not been able to fix these issues.

If on the edge, buy it. Hopefully they release an update that fixes the issues. If not, still decent device. Issues... * Playback pauses with black screen frequently, usually on the half hour when other recordings are starting and/or ending. * It is frequently difficult to delete a watched program. * Starting a recording a little early or ending a little late will cause programs to not record. Other devices I've used are smarter than this and this should be too. All these issues have multiple reports over a long period of time. Rumor has it updates are on hold while they implement commercial skipping, which would be nice, but please just make it woirk well first!!

Bought this recast to record shows and it works great. and it also picks up a lot over ota channels.

Hook up antenna, plug in, scan channels and you are ready to go. Works great. Can watch all the shows over your network through fire units connected to your TV.

The setup was quite easy. The quality from my antenna is very close to the original. I find the Recast works well and is highly recommended.

Use this in our living room to record our favorite shows. Works great and has tons of storage. Great deal!

A very good DVR to be used with an antenna. It works great with the firestick. I love there is no monthly fee or subscrption service.

Setup: Some companies go to great lengths to make the setup process as painless and straight forward as humanly possible but I don’t really think Amazon did that with the recast. I had to abort and restart several times during the setup process. If you leave the app for a few seconds to go copy a password from a password manager for instance, you had to restart the whole process! One quick tip, your stations may not show up in the phone app right away after setup and scan. Mine took about three days to show up. Ease of use: Everything is tied to the fire OS and that can be a real pain seeing as I still have my first gen firestick which has made my experience frustrating more times than I would like to admit. Even the latest firestick 4K isn’t much of an improvement. What the recast can’t do but should: What I don’t really get is why there’s currently no way to watch a recorded show at home without the internet? Also why can’t I download or backup my recorded episodes, is that going to get rolled out later with a fee attached? I hope not.

I transitioned from TIVO, to the Amazon Fire platform. The recast is a great dvr. It streams nicely to fire tv and fire stick 4K. I did run an Ethernet cable to the recast, as my home WiFi was buffering a little bit.

It was very easy to set up . It is also easy to use . It works very good .

The hardware itself was great and loved the idea of streaming to all my Fire sticks. The problem was the UI to control it and schedule recordings. It is not flexible and doesnt give options to record only new shows. I have a TiVO OTA and love the UI on it... I am sticking with my TiVO OTA, even though it is 10+ years old, and can't stream to all my TVs without additional hardware. Maybe the Recast Gen 2 might approach the industry standard TiVO. I returned the item.

After years of dealing with Dish Network and there extraordinarily poor business model of increasing costs on loyal customers and then providing only temporary relief after the customer complains, I finally took the "cut the cord" step. I have been able to replace the content that I desired with the Fire TV Recast and associated Fire TV Sticks. Installation was effortless and everything appears to be functioning well. Time will tell.

Amazon has done an amazing job with this. Does it’s job very well.
