This is my first dehumidifier for my household and it does a great job, it's used in my basement wich I considered as a mid size (sorry I don't have the basement size to be more specific about coberture at the moment of my review). I bought the 50-Pint size (Frigidaire FFAD5033R1) and think is good enough for my basement, I like the fact that it's pretty quiet, the fan noise is really low when its activated, it doesn't bother at all when we're watching tv since my home theater system is in the BM. It's so easy to empty the water when it's full, it doesn't overheat (It's been working continuosly since we purchased it over a month ago) and no mayor maintenance is required other than that. We're happy with it, planning to get a second one for the office/studio room located also in the BM.

The Frigidaire dehumidifier works very well at removing humidity from the air. The direct-to-the-drain hose connection does not seem to work effectively as we have to empty the bucket of water manually. There may be online instructions that could help as the owner's manual is not useful in this regard.

Replaced a 2 year old unit that just stopped working - a different brand. This unit was very easy to set up and started working just the way it should. I hope this unit will last more than 2 years. This is a basement application that does not have standing water so it does not have to work very hard.

This unit is very very quiet, does a great job, and easy for me to empty it’s reservoir. So glad we selected this size unit. It is working very well in a 1000 square foot lower level. Would purchase it again!

After a weeklong vacation I came back to my apartment and noticed how terrible the air quality was. I bought a thermometer with the humidity percentage on it and after a day it was resting at 70 percent. I did some research and this is way beyond the normal range of 40-50 percent and can cause mold and other airborne problems. I bought this unit and easily set it up and turned it on high. I couldn’t believe the amount of water it pulled out of the air in the first 8 hours. It took about 2 day and 3 full tanks of water and it dopped the humidity to a pleasant 45 percent. I sleep better and don’t have a morning cough or sinus issue anymore either. I highly recommend this dehumidifier.

Absolutely love this dehumidifier. It's incredibly quiet and very efficient. I was able to attach a discharge hose to the side port for continuous water removal which is a dream. I highly recommend this machine.

Have the 70 pint one and purchased this one for my daughter and son in law. Runs quiet easy to empty and pulls a ton of water out of the air. My basement is dry and not musty smelling. I give it 5 stars.

Great dehumidifier. Works so quietly that I usually forget it is on. Have it in an unfinished basement and it works so well! Within two days the musty smell was gone. Looking into how to set up a hose so that it drains into a sink and we don't have to keep emptying the bucket.

I purchased this dehumidifier to help with my finished basement. It is 1280 sq ft with multiple rooms and baseboard heating and I was having issues with condensation collecting in puddles on my floors due to the high humidity. I had a very old unit that just wasn't cutting it anymore. I found this unit and originally looked at the 70 pint but upon reading other reviews decided on the 50 pint instead. I've had this now for a couple of months and it works great. Very quite and I love that I can set the humidity percentage that I want. This unit took approx. 24hrs to dry out my damp floors throughout my whole basement and I haven't had a single issue since. I would highly recommend this.

I have lived in my house for 20 years and was never aware how much humidity was in my basement. I bought this dehumidifier after noticing a musty smell in the basement. I found that this unit was significantly quieter than a comparable GE dehumidifier although it isn't super quiet. I am amazed at how much moisture it pulls.

The best thing about this unit is that it does what it's supposed to do. I've not found any dehumidifiers that are quiet, and this one is similar. It doesn't make a lot of racket or noise, but it's not whisper quiet either. It does its job in the basement and I don't hear it on the other floors of the house. Seems well constructed and so far has not caused me any concern.

This product has been a solid purchase so far. It definitely sucks the moisture out of the air and isn’t really all the loud, even at its max fan speed. I wouldn’t be able to sleep in the same room as the dehumidifier, however. The only two downsides I have seen so far is that it really heats up the house (great in the winter though) and that you have to shut the machine off and let it sit for awhile before removing the bucket. If you don’t it drains some water after it’s removed and then you have to soak it up with a towel from the frame and the floor. It’s not a ton of water but it took me a few times to figure out why I had a puddle on the floor. It’s done exactly what I bought it for so I have no regrets, so far!
