Does not hold up more than 6 months

Have had this unit purchased new for a little over 2 yrs now and have had to replace the lower washer arm 2 times and about to replace it a third. The arm wears and then does not rotate any more as the blue spinning disk on one end weighs more than the other side of the arm creating an unbalanced pinch point. When this happens the washer not only does not clean dishes but redeposits the nasty stuff on the cleaner dishes and bakes it on. The controls are hidden on the top ledge that is not visible when the unit is in use resulting in people opening it mid-run and it does not always complete the run when closed. The controls are not consistent at all. Pressing start does not always start it, the delay start more often than not does not run.. We try to run it at night then fail to have dishes in the am when it didn't run and it's almost a 3hr run time on the strongest settings (it doesn't clean properly in any other setting). This unit does not have a built in food grinder either so you have to really clean dishes almost as much as a full hand wash or get stuck cleaning the screen more often than you'd like to (it's disgusting trust me). We have a large family (5 children) and the wait time coupled with dirty dishes and inconsistent results makes this a total loss for us. The 15 yr old Kenmore at our prior townhouse ran marathons (not circles) around this. Now if you are really concerned about having the stainless finish and don't do dishes often and have a small family it may not be a complete disaster for you - but I would still suggest doing the homework for a better model. The one other pro (aside from the non smudge finish) is this thing is really quiet, as in the water moving through the plumbing makes more noise than this unit.. They did manage to get that right. Note to those stuck with it - it's been noted the lower arm can be completely swapped with a different unit that does not have that blue spinning disk - worth some searching to get that alternative arm vs replacing it 2x / yr at 65$ each (avail from any decent online parts vendor).

This is my 4th dishwasher in 19 years. The first two lasted about the first 18.5 years (a little over 9 years for each). Then I had returned a Bosch that I had for 2 months while waiting for this Frigidaire to come in. My Frididaire was on back order. And it was worth the wait! I replaced the Bosch with this great dishwasher. My dishes, plates, bowls come out very dry at the end of the cycle. Very little water will pools on bottoms of those cups that have the curves in them. But, during the dry cycle, I can also do a very light 10 second shake on them, and when the drying is over, they are dry and I am simply waiting on them to cool off. This dishwasher's drying is the best of all 4 dishwashers that I ever owned. Now for the racking…. I can fit my tall pot in it. Yes! And my dishes fit so well in it. My typical items that I put in here are Correlle dishes and bowls, pyrex bowls (both round and rectangular) large and medium tupperware cups, large and medium glass and metal mixing bowls. I can even put the large, round, glass microwave dish that came with the microwave on the far left of the bottom rack! When I have a greasy large pot, after I wipe it off with a paper towel which I throw away, I can stick it in my dishwasher and know that it is going to come out clean and sterile. It does a great job on cleaning everything in the dishwasher including a greasy pot. It takes about 2 hours for the full wash and dry cycle to complete for the selections I choose. I can easily fit all of my dish ware in it. There is a lot of flexibility with the tines on the bottom rack and putting large bowls that I used to mix meatloaf or other things in it. You can see the display and the countdown until the dishwasher cycle is done. This is very helpful. It is very quiet. We did have the installer move it out a little which made it a little less quiet, but I can still hear the TV and carry on a conversation on the phone or in the kitchen while it is running. I still consider it to be very quiet. But I can hear it working away on cleaning my dishes so I know, by sound, as to what it is doing and can intervene if I need, like in the dry cycle. I haven't had a problem with spots. I use Finish. I also make sure that I turn my faucet on and wait for the water to get as hot as it can before turning on my dishwasher. This usually helps with spots and ensures a clean load of dishes. This is by far the best dishwasher that I have ever owned. I highly recommend it. The only thing I do not like is that it does not have a steel tub. I would have liked that. In retrospect, I might pay a little more for a similar model with a stainless tub. The reason I went a little cheaper is that my experience is that it probably is only going to last 9 years. I had top of the line models before… and they just didn't last. But, I really like the quality of this one so hopefully I get more than 9 years! Also, it does have a nice screen on the bottom which helps with keeping it clean or nothing flying around and getting lost by the sprayer.

    Never buy frigidaire!

Bought this dishwasher in June 2015, and it was great...for 4 months. Then no heat - no hot water, no heated dry. Frigidaire scheduled someone to come out. Wait a week. Then the technician cancelled because it was raining. Came out few days later and for 20 minutes looked at it as if he had never seen this product before. Decided he needed to replace motherboard and heating coil. But shouldn't I be concerned that these parts broke in just 4 months? Oh no, he said. Don't worry. Wait another week for the parts to come in and install. But it's working - yay! And then 5 days later broke again....the week before thanksgiving! Technician said he'd order a heating coil (thought that's what he already replaced). He'll call me once in comes in. Never hear from him again. In the meantime, it miraculously starts working again. For a couple weeks. Then breaks again. Call frigidaire again. Have to wait a couple more weeks for another technician. So today's the day. Been without functioning dishwasher for 2.5 months, took the day off to finally have it fixed again. But technician just called to cancel. I'm completely fed up with frigidaire! And I've not even mentioned the frigidaire refrigerator, purchased at the same time, that's also not working! Called Best Buy. Explained both appliances sold to us 6 months ago are not functioning and frigidaire is not repairing to our satisfaction. We are also elite plus members. I would expect Best Buy would stand behind their products and take them back if we're not satisfied, especially for such loyal customers. Nope! No help. Stay away from Best Buy and frigidaire!

This unit runs very quietly. The smudge-proof finish is nice. The controls location is horrible. First, the instructions need to say that you have to cycle the controls on/off (ie kill the power and restart a few times) when you start the unit up initially. I thought I had a dead dishwasher until I did this and waited about 10-15 seconds. The control panel is a bit fussy. But the biggest limitation is that you have to make your cycle choices and push start before you shut the door since the controls are hidden while running. During and after the cycle, it is difficult to know what is going on since all the idiot lights are mostly hidden. They should have put the indication lights on the front where you can see them. The unit does look sleek. It takes quite a pull/push to open/close the door (seems to be a Frigidaire trademark design - see microwave review). The tall tube makes for having to bend WAY over to open the door and pull out the lower rack. And take care that you hold onto the lower rack when pulling it out. It comes out fast and there are NO STOPS. The first time I tired it, the rack almost rolled off the door. All-in-all, a solid B for a quiet nice looking unit with a few quirks. By the way, don't forget to purchase the 3/4" hose to 3/8" compression 90 degree water connection adaptor and good 6' stainless braided hose and electrical cord separately because they do not come with the unit. You have to do your hookups while the microwave is pulled out, because the tall tube is so close to the floor it would be difficult otherwise. Also, have someone with long skinny arms available to reach the rear height adjusters (and the left one cannot be accessed with the water supply connected), they are hard to get at and take a 5/32" socket with a short-arm wrench to turn once the unit is in place.

I have always bought Frigidaire appliances, because they have offered a decent product for a reasonable price. All my appliances are Frigidaire Gallery, and they have all been fine until I bought this dishwasher. It looked good, matched the rest, did a nice job of cleaning the dishes, and then overflowed and flooded the kitchen. Every time. Several unsuccessful repair attempts later, it was replaced with another unit that did exactly the same thing. More wasted repair visits. Every cycle ends with water everywhere. If I catch it soon enough after a cycle ends, running the manual drain cycle -- twice -- will keep it from flooding. Until the next time. Since the countdown timer on the dishwasher bears no relationship to actual clock time, setting an alarm to catch it doesn't work, either. So, I can't run the dishwasher unless I can also be there when the cycle ends a couple of hours later. Eventually, I got fed up, bought a KitchenAid Architect II from Lowes (for about the same price), and asked for my money back on the Friigidaire. Since I didn't get the replacement through Best Buy, however, they sincerely regret being unable to provide a refund for a product that has never worked correctly and has done a real number on my (semi-new) maple cabinets. This was my first -- and last -- Best Buy appliance purchase. I don't think I will be making future appliance replacements with Frigidaire products, either.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE Best Buy and Frigidaire

Purchase a Frigidaire (Electrolux) dishwasher December 15th 2016 from Best Buy. We have had a servicer out 4 times for the dishwasher because the top rack does not close properly and binds when pushed 1/2 way in. The rollers are shredding every time the rack is pushed in. I was told by service company that this is a manufacturer defect and that I should ask for a replacement because this model cannot be repaired. I have this in writing on the service invoice. I had servicer come out again and replace the parts that Frigidaire tech line suggested. Problem still existed immediately after service rep installed parts. Frigidaire (Electrolux) customer care rep told me that the unit is functioning properly when the servicer actually said that they replaced the parts and there is nothing more that they can do, unit needs replacement. Frigidaire (Electrolux) are refusing to stand by their warranty and replace the product because, as the customer service rep stated, "the door shuts and cleans the dishes". I am completely dumbfounded how this company can clearly not see that this is a defective product from the service reps comments and mine and still refuse to do anything - This is very unfair and horrible customer service for a brand new product that doesn't work as it should. I want this unit replaced with one that functions as it should. I spent thousands of dollars at Best Buy to redo my kitchen and this is the only appliance that I didn't buy an extended warranty for so they refuse to help in any way! BEST BUY IS DOING NOTHING TO HELP!!! BEWARE!!! What horrible business practice all the way around

I was super skeptical about buying this model as the prior reviews were so negative and some said their dishwasher smelled horrible. I had a Samsung dishwasher, very pricey, that I thought did an adequate job cleaning. Our kitchen cups always looked dingy which I thought was to be expected since they are so old. However, the repair tech from Samsung recommended we get a cheaper machine with the plastic interior and he told us they work just as well. So, we bought this model and it is a total shock, but our aged cups look like new; perfectly clean in and out. Since the prior reviews were negative, I kind of decided ahead of time that I was going to hate this dishwasher and so I tried to do things like overfill it, never rinse dishes, leaving egg yolk stuck to plates and generally really being completely unconcerned as to how terrible the dishes would turn out since I thought if they did my husband would have me return it to get a better machine. Well, I was totally off base and so are the prior reviews! The dishes are so perfectly clean, it is incredible. The Samsung didn't do half as well and I always rinse my dishes for that machine. This one is a work animal and I am impressed and no much impresses me about washing dishes. I can't complain at all. I have had this machine for five months and it still performs perfectly and I still overfill it and never rinse dishes and it has never failed or smelled...at all. Which makes me wonder if the other reviewer used soap.. At any rate, this is a fabulous deal and a great price for a machine that really does an amazing job.

Owned less than a year, the top left rail for the top shelf constantly pops loose. This requires then removing a plastic plug from the back of the rail, reinstalling the rail, then reinstalling the plug. The plug already has enough wear from the flex required to reinstall it that I'll be surprised if it lasts the warranty period. The lower sprayer arm, while it looks like it would work well, with the addition of the round piece, is so unbalanced by the round piece that I frequently open the door after a wash to find it is no longer connected to the spindle and lying, useless, at the bottom. I assume water just sprays out of the center of the spindle when this happens, as there is no longer connection to the arm. Reinstalling the lower arm *also* has created an excessive amount of wear on the soft plastic pieces that theoretically lock it in place (but don't, really). I've had several dishwashers in my lifetime, including some in rental properties. I've never been as disappointed in one as much as this Frigidaire. If I could return it for credit toward another one, I would in a second. Poor design, poor engineering. I expect to replace this with something that isn't a Frigidaire in a much shorter than usual dishwasher lifespan.

I was truly skeptical about this dishwasher. The reviews were so mixed and many said that it smells inside. I have no idea what the reviewers are talking about. This dishwasher has done a superior job cleaning everything. Now, since I thought I would hate this dishwasher, I decided to let food, like egg yolk and other hard to remove foods, dry on the dishes. If figured, if they didn't come clean and began to stink, my husband would send it back and we could get a better one. Well, I have been brutal to this machine. I over fill it as well and never rinse anything off. I run it one to two times a day completely over full and just use one non name brand soap pellet and nothing else and the dishes come out perfectly clean and shiny. This dishwasher has even made all the insides of our cups look like brand new. They used to have a drab color from coffee inside that I would occasionally scrub out by hand before. Now, they sparkle and look like new. My dishes are amazingly clean. Pots and pans are perfect. I can't praise this machine enough. It far exceeds my expectations. It is much better than our very pricey Samsung that completely broke after two and a half years and really never did a very good job at all. As to smell, it doesn't smell like anything. It just smells clean after doing the dishes. I imagine if I left dirty dishes in there for a week, it probably would smell and I would be eating off paper towels. Another complaint was that it is noisy. It is not. It is much quieter than the Samsung. I am completely happy with this machine and I am very picky about things like this. The other reviewers had me scared to get this machine but I am really glad I did.

Purchased this dishwasher May 2015. Worked fine for the first 2-3 months. After that began to notice that the soap dispenser would not always open and therefore the dishes were not being cleaned properly. Called Fridgidaire customer service and each of the six times they send out a service repair and have not offered or agreed to replace machine. I have had 5 different servicers at my home and they have told me to switch type of soap, replaced dispensers , replaced control panel, reset electronic controls. Problem will resolve briefly and then again dispenser will not open with each wash. Fridgidaire will not agree to replace this washer which is still under warranty because they are able to get a servicer to make it work for one time while here. They suggest buying an extended warranty for a dishwasher that basically has not worked properly since purchase- a Lemon! I am 3 months away from new product warranty running out and regret purchasing this dishawasher. I have never had so many issues with any other brand of appliance.

This model is good for the price. It is noticeably smaller inside than the older Gallery model this replaced, but also noticeably quieter. I've had it for about a month now, and it cleans pretty much anything I put in it. Controls are easy to use, though I have noticed that there is a slight crevice in the top panel where the controls are. It looks nice, and I think is meant to be there. However, (and maybe this is an installation issue), if there is any of the dishwasher that extends past the edge of your counter, crumbs etc. will fall onto the panel and can get stuck in that crevice. Not too big a deal, but I'd prefer the entire top panel be perfectly smooth. Two first things I noticed about this dishwasher, as with most anything these days, it seems cheaply built, which it must be to be priced so much below other models. The door can easily twist when open, so be sure to hold it in the middle of the handle and gently close it. It is also smaller than the other model, and only has two positions to adjust the top rack. They seem to be about 1/16" difference in height from each other, so I'm not sure why being able to adjust it was necessary. Anyway, so far no problems, and it cleans, and is quiet. So for the price, I'm not complaining.

    Worse dishwasher I have owned

    Posted
    Noho66

A year ago, I remodeled my entire condo and bought brand new appliances. I bought an FGID2466QF4A dishwasher from Frigidaire. Since I have used it, there is virtually not one time that I didn't have to wipe out the dishes either for water (it rarely dries properly), for dish soap, or worse, for remnants of grease or food. Sometimes, all of the above. It infuriates me every time. It is the worse dishwasher I have ever owned. What is the point of looking all fancy and futuristic, if it can't do the simplest task it's supposed to do: wash and dry dishes and utensils properly? And no matter what Frigidaire says in their repair or maintenance manuals, regarding use of more expensive dish soap, dry jet, sensitivity of the dishwasher, etc... At the end of the day, it is THEIR job to make sure the machine also operates in abnormal or difficult conditions. I had two cheap dishwashers in the past that didn't look remotely as fancy as this one and operated in exactly the same conditions, but they always did their job properly. For this one, I spent more money, and it's not even comparable how poorly it's performing. Frigidaire, please, stay in the fridge business, and nothing else!

    Big mistake

    Posted
    Rick

In June of 2015 we needed a new dishwasher and wanted to try a Frigedaire Gallery because it had a Smudge Proof Stainless Steel finish. Our thought was we would then go with Frigedaire Gallery for the rest of the kitchen. Big mistake. We ended up abandoning the machine with another year left in its extended warrantee. Here is why. After numerous problems/repairman visits, the original machine was replaced after 3 months in September of 2015 with a new one. Since we have the second machine, we have had the repairman to our home approximately 10 times – mostly dishes not cleaning and timer issues. The final straw was the dishwasher making a groaning noise/water running when the door was open! Because it could not be turned off or un-plugged due to hard wiring, it necessitated us cutting power to half of our kitchen. Each time it had a problem, we would be without a dishwasher for about 2 weeks in that the warrantee company would come out to diagnose the problem and then have to come back with parts. This last time we pushed to get another replacement, only to be referred to the small print in our warrantee contract. That night we went and bought a Kitchen Aide.

    Worst dishwasher EVER!

    Posted
    jdistefano

After over 5 months of fighting with Frigidaire over what a horrible dishwasher they sold us, our fight is finally over. But not because of their stellar customer service, oh no. It took at least 6 trips to our house with at least 4 different repair men and 2 different companies, and probably $1000 in parts and labor.....Frigidaire did all of that just to say they can't help us anymore, it's not their problem and they won't replace the dishwasher. THE PROBLEM YOU ASK???? Ever since we installed it the dishwasher has smelled like TRASH!!!!! no matter what they did or what we did. They said it's not a "parts" issue, therefore they were no longer willing to help. So they are allowed to sell us a $500+ dishwasher that smells like garbage, and because it technically still is spraying water, it's not broken so they wouldn't replace it. FINALLY LOWES has stepped in an let us return the piece of junk and put the money towards the new one. Too bad Lowes had to loose money on something that wasn't their fault, but ultimately they knew keeping their customer happy was more important.

I would give this dishwasher at least 4 stars IF it would dry my dishes. I’ve had this unit for 2 weeks and my wife and I are really regretting this purchase. This is replacing another Frigidaire dishwasher that came with the house we bought 6 years ago and were very happy with. Every load of dishes with this new unit have come out dripping with water, even if they are left in there all day. The additional time with the “Sahara” dry setting does not seem to dry the dishes any more than the regular heat dry. Frigidaire was a brand I could trust and was happy with, but this is really testing my brand loyalty. Other than drying, it does an excellent job with cleaning and is quieter than our old unit. Looks sleek, too. Top rack is a little awkward with design and layout, but I can get used to that. BUT NOT HAVING TO TOWEL DRY EVERY LOAD OF DISHES. If you want to have your sig other tell you every day that the dishwasher is not doing it’s job, then buy this product.

      Hello, Adam.

Thank you for your recent review of your Frigidaire Dishwasher.

I feel awful to hear you are not getting the best drying performance from your unit.

Did you know? Your household water pressure along with the water temperature plays a key role in your appliance’s performance. I recommend checking your water temperature and pressure; the recommended temperature should be 49°C (120°F) and the water pressure should be 20 to 120 pounds per square (psi). Also, try increasing the amount of rinse aid you are using.

      Hope this helps.

Should the above suggestions prove ineffective, please give us a call. Our team will be happy to assist you and your tenants further; we can be reached at 888 203 1389. Our Customer Care Team is available Monday through Friday from 8am-8pm EST.

I love this dishwasher, it looks great, has a smudge proof exterior (except handle) and runs super quietly. My only problem is that the top anchor brackets do not move/slide like on other models. This means new holes will have to be drilled in my granite counter tops because the brackets do not line-up with previous bracket placement of my old dishwasher. I will have to buy the side mounting kit, which if you ask me should be included instead of the top brackets or have the granite guy come out and drill new holes. OK one more thing, the quick wash is designed to only wash bottom rack; however you would not know this unless you read the manual, you might think dishwasher doesn't work well, but it is designed that way. OK last thing its really much lower than old dishwasher I think because it is considered a tall tub.

We purchased this dishwasher around the holiday shopping season. The item's price is very reasonable. The unit holds plenty of dishes. There are multiple settings to accommodate the type of wash required. We love the hidden controls. Our toddler would press buttons on our older dishwasher. She can not get access to them on this unit. The outside of the product is stainless steel, but it does not show fingerprints easily, which is nice. Make sure you measure the depth of the opening for the dishwasher. You want to make sure that there is plenty of room for the unit to push back. If there is not, the controls will show at the top and it does not look great. I had to remove the drywall behind by dishwasher to give me the extra .5 inches. There is very little room for plates on the top rack. This is frustrating as a parent. My toddler's plates need to be top shelf only, however there is not enough room to put them up there. Sometimes there is food particles left sitting on the bottom of the dishwasher after a wash. I've never had this problem with any of my other dishwashers. Overall the pros outweigh the cons. The price really helps.

Don't actually use this much just wanted to get the whole gallery series so everything would match. The installers installed it leaving one of the lifters from the previous washer still there when it was not needed so the washer was tilted a bit to one side. I was wondering why the wood edge was getting scraped off on one side when I opened and closed the door! My first wash load as a test was hardly a full load. I had some tea stained mugs in there and tried all the different cycles with different tea mugs, but none of them would get the stains out! These were fresh stains. I do use a cup warmer so the stains were a bit baked on but nothing serious. I had to take out the mugs and hand wash them to remove what stains were left. I was curious about how big the motor was so I checked underneath and the motor looks so small. Looked like one I would see in an outside water fountain. Basically it is just a souped up water sprinkler. Next time I'll check out Bosch or Miele or even Maytag which has a bigger motor. But guess I'm stuck with this one for the next few years or until it breaks down. Don't think it would be worth fixing as it would probably cost half the amount of the purchase!

Bought this dishwasher back in May and haven't had any problems with it. It's not quite as quiet as I had hoped for (the higher db rating is accurate so don't go in thinking it will be silent) but it cleans our dishes well and the amount of time it takes doesn't seem too long. Yes you'll have some wet dishes if you don't give it time to dry. We just wash on the highest temp settings and let them air dry. Normally it's fine and we have very little water plus save on electricity by not using the heating element. I love how the outside looks. No fingerprints or water stains and no having to clean the stainless steel exterior! Nice! Sure the inside doesn't have stainless steel but that doesn't seem to affect how well it washes dishes. Considering how cheap this dishwasher was, I bought the extended warranty just in case and it was still several hundred dollars cheaper than the cheapest Bosch. I would recommend this dishwasher to anyone who just wants a simple dishwasher that cleans your dishes and is still fairly quiet #although not silent--but still better than our old GE dishwasher).

I wish , as many have said, I would have read the negative reviews. This dishwasher looks great and seems ok . The inside is cheap and clunky but I was gonna work with that . Problem is it doesn’t clean dishes anywhere near as well as our previous washer which was a kenmore I believe, had it for 12 years and cleaned dishes well and left them bone dry. This unit even on Sahara setting and with jet dry leaves dishes wet and worst of all my kids won’t drink out of any glasses till we hand wash them ( ok I won’t either ) because the unit leaves crud in the glasses . I have seen other reviews on this unit saying the same. We are about to junk it and get a better unit . Very disappointed in this one .

      Hi, Stickman3!

Thank you for providing your honest feedback on your experience with this dishwasher. We are sorry to hear that your experience has thus far been less than stellar!
Washing performance can be improved by using the minimum amount of HE liquid detergent and ensuring the detergent has not expired. We would also recommend checking that the rinse aid is full and your water heater is set at 120 degrees Fahrenheit. Dish placement is also important in allowing the OrbitClean spray arm to reach every crevice. Cups and bowls should be placed top-down, plates and cutlery should not stack too closely, and both arms should be free to spin without any blockage.
The Heat Dry and Sahara Dry settings will heat up the dishes at the end of a cycle in order to improve drying performance. Glass, metal, and ceramic dishes will dry much faster than plastic, as these materials are better conductors of heat. We recommend that plastic items be allowed some time to air dry.
