Customers are saying

Customers highly value the Drive 51 LMT-S 5" GPS for its ease of use and clear, accurate directions. The larger screen size is also a plus for many users. However, some customers found the traffic update feature to require a smartphone connection, which was a drawback for some. Overall, the GPS functionality itself received positive feedback.

Used 2X since I got my garmin! Love it. I have 3 other Garmin products and this does not disappoint. Easy to update and directions are clear both visually and by voice and most of all accurate! Won't travel without it! Most of all much cheaper than buying stock on my 2 Honda vehicles and only have to buy 1.

Initially it takes time to start on first time. After that works good. Lane sugg is good. Combined with iPhone app so that not req to type address.

Unfortunately my previous Garmin GPS (which I liked; thought was better then previous TomTom) died just under 2-years. However, liked the functionality of it, so bought this one as replacement after researching reviews. Works as good as previous except touch screen takes little more "push" to actuate the item (some reviews also indicated same). Otherwise, functions well (just hope lasts longer than previous).

This is much easier to use than our previous Garmin GPS. The only negative about this unit is that to get traffic alerts, you have to connect it to your phone via Bluetooth. Not a real problem, but if your phone is not capable of connecting to two devices, you can't use your phone for streaming music while using for traffic updates.

This replaced another model and so far it is working well. It gave good directions, the only thing is when the exit came up it warned me a little late. Otherwise I am happy with the purchase

I got this for my daughter as she just got her first car and is in school in a different state. Overall it is a decent GPS. Had one like it previously. My only big issue is that the screen is not as responsive as my other ones have been. Takes more to get it to recognize what you pushed, and letters very close together so have to correct a lot. However I would still recommend if need something smaller and portable that is easier on the budget. But, if can afford, the 6 inch glass screen is superior for touch performance.

This Garmin is a replacement for one we had for years. Love the bigger screen and graphics with views of the actual exit lane, etc. It is more user friendly having it mounted on the windshield rather than trying to use GPS on a smartphone.

The visual is good and the overlays are helpful. Our only criticism is that to access traffic it has to be connected to a smart phone app. This is a bit of a hassle and should be more easily accessible. When stuck in traffic it isn't a good idea to be looking at your phone.

This was a Garmin upgrade and it was similar enough to the old one that instructions weren’t needed. This was a good thing since I wasn’t going to use my data plan to read the online manual as we traveled. Saving the cost of data is whole reason for using a GPS. All in all, this is a great product and is easy to use.

By the time it locates the satellite you could be half way to your destination. Sometimes it doesn't know left from right

I love the updates it gives when you approach a school zone, speed limit change, curve Etc. I hooked it up to my computer USB port to charge and try to get used to it functions but it won't open when attached to the computer! Other than that it is a good system.

This particular unit does a fine job and has Google style features for finding locations. The only thing that is annoying is that every time you start your car the unit needs to acquire the satellites again and it sometimes takes a minute or two. My old unit was instantaneous.

I go through gps units every couple of years. This one also has its quirks but will announce landmarks to turn at. I also like the speed limit, red light camera and school zone announcements.

Bought this GPS for a driving vacation in Europe. Visited and drove in France, Belgium, and Holland. Got the current European map and everything was accurate. With my Samsung Galaxy 7, I was able to get updates on trafficand construction delays. With the parking issues in the bigger cities, the parking app was a real plus. Happy with purchase.

Very useful in finding directions in areas that you've never been in. Not that great about warning about traffic on highways you will eventually be using. Google maps on phone is better most times.
