Solid product. Purchased to track my sleep, HR, and bc I’m training for Hyrox it’ll dial me in with detailed info. Use it everyday and sleep with it no problems. Alcohol swab daily to clean it after gym sessions. Durable. Very accurate and easy to use. Battery lasts about 10-14 days for me and I plug it in for about 2 hours and it’s good for another round. Simple!

Switched from an Apple Watch to the Garmin Forerunner 165 and I’m never going back! It is everything I needed in a running watch—lightweight, accurate, and incredibly user-friendly. I love this watch and I’m thrilled that I chose the Garmin brand. Been heavily into health and fitness lately. I decided to get this watch in order to boost my physical activity level. The user interface is friendly (both the watch and the app). Lots of customization abilities. I love how I get my notifications. For someone who does running walking, cardio and weightlifting. This is perfect. I’m not some super athlete who needs all the extra functions that are in the other watches garmin provides. I think this is a nice size. Something that a lot of people don’t talk about is the actual glass watch face is set under the watch frame and not rounded out like an Apple Watch or the Venu series. Less room for damage imo! Very durable device nonetheless. Battery life is amazing.

Had the product for about a year no; its durability to truly top notch. It has gotten its fair of dingles and bumps as I moved along with it but the tough screen and surrounding body bear only faint marks. The battery life is also excellent. A typical full charge lasts me about a week when I’m using the watch for running. Great product

This Garmin is awesome. I've used Garmin running watches since 2008 and needed a new one. I've also had fitbit for years as a daily watch and didnt think i needed a Garmin to wear all day until i got the 165. It does so much. You can customize everything. The battery life is also amazing. I dont run as much as i did in my younger years but running 15 or so miles a week is nothing for the 165. What is cool is it only uses the gps while runni g so the battery lasts way longer. The batter will go 10 days no problem. Overall im loving the 165.

I was very suprised with how long the batterlife lasted. I came in needing an upgrade from my samsung watch and this one was perfet. I have used it everyday for track practice and it tracks everything wonderfully.

I've used many Garmin products for years and there's truly no worthy competitor in the fitness tech space. As of the time of this review (Summer 2026) the Forerunner 165 is a great value option to get a modern running watch, especially if you can get it on sale. It is nearly identical to the newly released Forerunner 170 but usually ~$100 cheaper. I am using this watch for marathon training and appreciate the daily suggested workouts feature which dynamically plans my workouts accounting for events on my calendar, sleep, other activities synced with Garmin, etc.

Ive been into running for awhile now and I love love love this watch! you can connect garmin to strava to upload your runs and you dont need to carry a phone on you! great build quality and very easy to use! Battery last forever too!

Great for my needs when it comes to running 6 out of the 7 days of the week. Battery life is so great and I only have to charge it once a week. Super good when it comes to workout days for me and gps connects quickly so no cameras waiting before the run.

I love the battery life it lasts me all week it’s pretty comfortable I don’t usually feel it I like being able to track all of my steps and running/workouts without having to carry my phone around everywhere. The only thing I dislike about this watch is the price but it is 10/10 worth it in my opinion.

It does what the description says, but I dont't think the description gives it justice on how flexible it is. For example, I can enter "Hot Yoga" as a physical activity and it takes measurements on heart rate and loss of water through sweat, etc. I can go in and correct details about strength training if need be. Battery lasts a while and charges very quickly. **although this is not a medical device and not intended as such** my doctors are reevaluating a sleep disorder due to readings taken at night. I love that you can customize the watch face (even if it is an additional app). I can tell it what notifications from my phone i don't want it displaying. One of my favorite parts are the cute little "believe in yourself" messages after the morning reports.

Amazing for running! Currently training with it for my marathon. I never take it off. Super light weight. Beautiful investment

Coming from an Apple watch. Absolutely love the ability to pick and choose what info you can have on the watch. I personally only have time, weather, heart rate and steps on my watch. Battery life is great. Wearing the watch for approximately 12-16 hours a day i can 9-10 days between charges. I did purchase an aftermarket screen protector because i do construction work. It does not affect touch screen operation. I also put a different band on it.

I use it on my runs and use it to log my workouts and it works great. Good option for someone getting into running.

This replaces a Vivoactive 3 with a dying battery and I wish I had done it much sooner. I easily get 10 days on a charge, the display is bright and colorful, and it syncs instantaneously with the Garmin Connect app. Lots of health metrics and weather to boot. It has everything I need and some fun things I don't.

My first watch to track down my sleep and jogging. I love it and helps me out a lot. Would recommend for first time joggers
