I’ve been using the Garmin Forerunner 55 GPS Smartwatch for a while now, and it has proven to be an excellent tool for tracking my fitness journey. The GPS accuracy is impressive, and the race time predictor feature is a great motivator for improving my performance. I also appreciate the daily suggested workouts, which help me stay consistent and challenge myself. The watch is lightweight and comfortable to wear, even during long runs. The battery life is decent, lasting several days with regular use. However, the display resolution could be better—it feels a bit outdated compared to other smartwatches in the same price range. I love the stats! Use with Garmin Connect app for graphs and maps. Nice watch, long battery life, easy to read and use. Watch band is super uncomfortable and stiff -- immediately replaced the band! A wide variety of watch faces to download. Good watch for the price.

The Forerunner 55 is an excellent fitness watch for someone looking for the bare essentials. I bought mine just as I was getting into running and it has helped me track and set goals as well as know exactly how hard I should be pushing myself. Despite this watch being a base model, Garmin packed in all the same great features you would find in the top of the line models. My only piece of advice would be that if you have larger wrists, it might be good to go ahead and get a larger watch band, because the one that comes with it is not very big.

This watch is excellent for people that are starting to train or running. The analysis of each activity is amazing. I wish it had other activities so I can make a progress report. The suggestions are on-point. The connect app lets you see the progress and the areas need of improvement.

Great watch! I connect it to Strava and the nike run app. I love it and I would def recommend it to other.I use it for all of my workouts so far.

Great watch, it has all the basic options needed for regular exercising, it looks great and not bulky. Battery life is amazing compared to apple watch and other watches.

This is an excellent watch with great battery life. It does everything that I need it to do sleep tracking, step counting, tracking exercise, heart rate and stress monitoring.

For the price, you're getting an middle level Garmin exercise watch. There's only one complaint that I have about the watch during my ownership and it's the lackluster GPS. It only tracks where you go, but cannot put it onto a map. This means that you can't use it for directions, other than this small complaint, the watch is brilliant at what it does.

It feels super light and easy to wear all day. No touchscreen here, which, for me, is actually a plus for running: physical buttons are more reliable with sweat or rain, and changing screens mid-run is easy. Features like suggested workouts, easy-to-follow run metrics, and recovery guidance help take the guesswork out of training—especially if you’re new to structured running. For outdoor runs and walks, GPS locks in quickly and stays consistent. I used it for several days without charging it, If you want music stored on the watch (no phone), you’ll need a different model. This one focuses on training essentials.
