    I made this purchase given high reviews and most seeming please with the product. However, I was unable to connect the device to my wifi which is a must for it to function. That being said, I am not rating the functionality. Customer service was unable to devise a solution, so I began to consider returning the item. After expanding the search for a solution, I learned that this product has many issues and most without a work around. I guess those writing the reviews here were lucky enough to get one that worked. I believe Garmin makes high quality products, as i am very pleased with my fenix 3 and other garmin products. However, this scale is not among them.

    Many returns in 3 scales in 2 years

    After 1 year working fine, the first scale show the wrench icon.Bought ANT stick, tried everything, did not work. Replaced under warranty, , after 10 months working fine: wrench symbol. Warranty replaced, (third scale) arrived, tried every single tip and tricks from google, youtube etc,,, NOTHING. Returned!! wrote to Garmin support. Answer: ridiculous: see my lat e-mail and Garmin's answer and evaluate yourself the : ATTITUDE copy from last e-mail: Hello Jay and Product Support - Fitness Team from Garmin International Thanks for the answer. I was wondering: why is taking so long for an answer... I hope you solve this issue soon Returning to the Garmin products. If you check my profile, you will see how many products from garmin I have already bought all over the last 10 years, beginning with Zumo 550 in 2008. The Index scale, was a add to my wife's and my garmin sport watches, first forerunner 225 now 235. Answering your questions; 1 - I have returned the last index scale as soon as i confirm it was not working, i got it about a week . 2 - When my second index scale presented problem, i bought at Best buy an ANT stick, It did not work also. I have returned both, scale and stick. Anyway, as i "already" thrust Garmin products I bought the third index scale: Bottom line: I am disappointed.(but with some hope garmin will fix this) If you go on the forum, you will see the large amount of users with similar problems. It could not be a product with a Garmin quality I still have a gift card from Best buy, but do not intend to buy another scale, without a final and definitive solution. If you want, you can send me home the scale and the ANT stick, but I do not want to waste any time going to Best Buy to buy and return the product. It is time consuming and frustrating.     Doesn't wotk well with Garmin Connect

    The scale works well, but it syncs with Garmin Connect and that website only allows for ONE weigh in per day. Under normal circumstances that is probably fine. But Athletes and coaches usually weigh in more often. Pre and Post workouts so we can track our hydration level. I bought the scale because it could track 16 users, thinking I could use it with my clients. But because of it only storing on weigh in per day, it is usless for that. I contacted Garmin and they had me fill out a request form for development, but 90 days have come and gone and I haven't heard anything. FAIL

      Thank you for reviewing the Index Smart Scale. Currently Garmin Connect does only allow for users to view the most recent weight upload. Users have the ability to upload multiple times in a day, but you will only see the most recent one displayed. We appreciate the feedback and suggestion.     Scale went bad in 2 days

    After two days this scale gave readings that were ridiculous. According to this scale my wife loss over 100 pounds in one day and I gain 10 pounds in one day. Also it is very hard to sync with wifi.

      Please go to support.garmin.com where you'll find many FAQ's and video's about the Index Smart Scale. After you'd done this if you're still experiencing issues please reach out directly to the product support team from that page. Please be sure the scale is being used properly with the information in the FAQ's.
