I'm still running off of the initial charge and some sunlight! I switched to this from the apple ultra 2 which was a great watch and was the last thing to keep me in the iPhone ecosphere but after switching to Android this made up for it (in the way that a minimalist would desire). I'm able to check my time, weather, sleep, steps and receive notifications while my phone is out of hands reach. Simple stuff:) One thing that I am skeptical about however is the accuracy of the step counter. Heart rate and sleep seem to be accurate though .

Almost owning this watch for a year now and I've had no complaints! Even though I am a aviation mechanic constantly accidentally getting the watch hit by different items and even airframe parts scrapping against the glass. It still has not gotten a noticeable scratch. The light helps immensely when you need it most. Weather is mostly accurate and it's GPS is too. Along with of course your step counter. The battery can last months! Typically it lasts a whole month before I need to charge it. If your working in the sun congratulations! You'r charging the watch standing in the sun! It is a perfect watch for mechanics, military members, or any labor related jobs. You will not regret getting it!

    Garmin Instinct 2x Tactical Review

The Garmin Instinct 2x tactical is an all around good watch with lots of great features and exceptional battery life. In spite of this, I believe it is a bit too costly for what the watch it includes. I returned this watch after a few days of wearing it because other watches possess the same health features for a fraction of the price. Despite this, the instinct 2x is an outdoorsman watch. The features it does possess are exceptional. However, I believe it needs to shave off an additional $100-150 to be worth purchasing for people who go outdoors maybe every other week.

    Amazing Rugged Watch

I've had this watch for about a month now and could not be happier. I've come from multiple Samsung smart watches that all fell short when it came to workout and activity tracking. I've always been a fan of Casio G-Shock watches due to their durability and ruggedness. This watch combines the ruggedness and some smart watch features in one. I get all the Garmin features and smartwatch features. I get all my notifications on this watch. The battery life is amazing as well. I get almost a month of charge on this watch. Only downside is that I can't generate text messages from the watch. There is a quick reply feature but I can't generate one. All in all this watch has everything I need.

At first i wasn't sure what to think about the watch. The watch face and layout was excellent from the very start. As i started to become more and more familiar. I started to like the watch more and more. Then once i learned how to operate all the buttons and figured out all of the features. This watch has turned into the best watch i ve ever had! Definitely a very nice buy, and money well spent! Since being in the military i ve experienced some hearing lost. This Garmin has actually Complimented use of my phone. Often times i cant hear my phone ringing or even vibrating in my back pocket. Once theres a notification I immediately know from the vibration of the watch. I can quickly read the notification accept phone calls and even respond to messages quickly without even using my phone. You're not actually able to talk from the watch, but only able accept a call, from the watch. Then once you have accepted a call you have an extra few seconds to grab your phone to talk. When you have received a message notification you're able to quickly respond with a preselected quick message. Works nicely when you're driving or in a meeting. So my over all rating is five stars! If Garmin ever makes a model that you can use as a speak and listen phone communication. It would get 10 stars from me. Better lookout Samsung and Apple!

It’s a Garmin and it shows with the quality. Went from Apple Watch to this. Wanted something to fit more of an adventure lifestyle and reduce the need for a charge all the time. Went from a 24-36hr charge cycle to upwards of a month with the Garmin. The solar aspect is nice but being the holiday season and winter I haven’t been outside as much to really test that benefit. Overall for what it is I am happy with the switch.

Used this watch for almost 2 months now and couldnt be happier. I upgraded from a samsung watch which cracked on the slightest impact against a wall. I love that the 2x solar is a health watch first and smart watch second. Most of the features offered by samsung and apple are a gimmick which I hardly ever used. I was also tired of charging the watch every other day. This watch can last between 20-30 days depending on the features enable. Im not scared to be rough with it at all. It has a thick bevel like a gshock watch. Also compared to the instinct 2 this watch is slightly bigger which I prefer.

We have already purchased 2 of these for our boys who were track and field, cross country, Military College Cadets. They LOVE them. They are durable and definitely waterproof. They use them for swimming also! I do know that there always seems to be something wonky with recommending a day of rest often. But other than that the boys are enjoying all the features which take time to explore and figure out. This is A LOT of watch that with any luck will carry them into their military careers!

The watch is the standard by which every other running watch should be judged. Battery life is excellent, the build is tough, and the thing just works. I’ve banged it around on trail runs, soaked it with sweat and salt and pool water, and dragged it through travel without a second thought. A+ rating for me!

The watch’s features are intuitive and well-thought-out, but it took me a bit of time to fully explore everything it could do. Once I got the hang of the buttons and discovered its full range of capabilities, this watch quickly became an indispensable tool. It’s now my favorite smartwatch, hands down. The value you get for the price makes it a worthwhile investment.

Love this watch. I was slow to the smart watch party, . This watch Let's me stay up-to-date with all of my garmin gear. I mainly use it for deep sea fishing. Let's me stay connected with land, using my garmin gpsmap 86sci. I also use the track me feature for another safety measure when I am out in the ocean. It also allows me to check tides.

Just picked this up recently after trading in my Apple Watch Ultra. Wish I had done this years ago. This watch is awesome. Does everything I need and then some, plus the battery lasts longer then 1-2 days and I don’t have to pay for a monthly cell plan.

Excellent! Torch is a huge PLUS! At least with this watch if you start a workout for the first time on a machine it'll ask you if it's calibrated correctly to what your machine has logged. You won't get that with an Apple Watch or the torch or the 30+ days of battery life with workouts every day. EPIX is good but the battery life can't compare to the 2X. Pretty screens aren't everything.

While the solar charging isn't as great as it might be, and it still doesn't play books, this watch is otherwise amazing, from all the stuff it does to its remarkable battery life. On its face from just the options that came with the watch I can tell when the sun will rise and set. I can track my run and my watch can get me back to my starting point in an unfamiliar place. The instruction manual is 126 pages long, and totally worth learning...

This is the second Garmin Instinct Tactical I’ve owned and it seems like it just keeps getting better and better with time. I loved my first one mostly because I could go weeks without charging it and it would be fine, but also because it wasnt fragile like my Apple Watch so I didn’t have to worry about buying a special case for it or anything. The last one I had wasn’t solar but this one is, definitely a awesome part of the watch, basically it can run indefinitely as long as you are out in the sun a lot, you never have to charge it again! It comes with a torch so you can light your path in any dark area, I find myself using it quite often. You have an app called applied ballistics on the watch so you can be accurate when you are going shooting, you just need to get the license for it. Heart rate monitor is even better and more accurate, same goes for the sleep tracker. Overall it’s a really solid watch for anyone in the military or looking to do outdoors activities, the last one I had survived a full deployment in the middle east with no scratches or scuffs so that should tell you something. I can’t wait to see what Garmin does with their next one!
