Customers are saying
Customers recognize the vívofit 2 Activity Tracker's exceptional battery life and ease of use as significant advantages. Many appreciate its water resistance and sleep tracking capabilities, while some find the syncing process challenging and express a desire for a heart rate monitor. The device's size and clasp have also received mixed feedback. Overall, the positive aspects of battery life and ease of use appear to outweigh the concerns regarding syncing and the lack of a heart rate monitor for many users.

Great features, but DOES NOT AUTO SYNC
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this over the original because it claims to auto sync, only to find out after buying it that it only auto syncs under 2 circumstances: if you reach 2,000 steps in under 60 minutes; or if you log in to the website and create an activity, then push a bunch of buttons on the device and complete the activity (obviously that is not AUTO). I contacted Garmin twice and spoke to two different people who confirmed this. So, I will probably return it and buy the cheaper original vivofit since the only thing that the new 2 model has is the backlight screen and the new clasp (oh, and the timer and beeping noises which I could not care less about).

my favorite watch ever!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.i've tried a few different smart watches, but this one is definitely my favorite. it tracks sleep, steps, calories burned... it can sync to an app on your phone and give you cool graphs of your progress. it's pretty neat and isn't that expensive compared to similar models!

Little more than an expensive Timex
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first time with a wearable device. Tells great time/date. Illumination on 2nd gen. model is nice improvement. Steps taken seems higher than reality. Changing goal keeps inaccuracy on same plane, so I guess that's all a wash. Mileage, like an old Chevy, seems high. Steps High = Mileage High! Calorie's burned, if true, I should be losing weight at an amazing pace! Move bar is Cool, but bike riding has no effect what so ever. Sleep mode so far has gone unused. Band latch is impressive as is being able to change bands/color to suit mood. One year battery is a selling point...have enough stuff to charge as is. Would I buy again? Maybe.

Best all around fitness tracker
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My fitbit flex died after 2 years and instead of buying newer fitbit, I decided to buy Vivofit 2. After using it for a month, I'm blown away with Vivofit 2. I love how you don't need to charge it weekly (like any other fitness tracker). The band always stay on my wrist, I never have to take it off, It sync to my Note 5 at ease. Although fitbit app is better looking overall, Garmin connect app is decent. It gives you all the information you need. You really can't go wrong with this tracker, the price is cheaper than others. The best bang for your buck.

Love it!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my second Vivofit2. It fits my needs. I have tried several others, but always come back to my Vivofit2. Love that it's waterproof and love the long life battery. One of the little feet that goes into the band broke off my first one, and unfortunately I did not have the protection plan on it. I'd had it over a year. It almost got lost when my 4 yr. old grandson got ahold of it, so out of fear of losing it, I ordered a new one. It came really fast. This time, I have the protection plan on it.

I like it a lot
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Many of my co-workers have the FitBit. Which I originally wanted as well. My boss has the Garmin, and I like that you can see what you're doing in the display and that you don't have charge it.

Great for Grandma
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. No need to find a charger. Uses standard watch battery that lasts about a year. Easy to set up and doesn't require much technical knowledge. There are more advanced trackers out there but this delivers simple, elegant performance.

My 84 year old Dad loves it
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We got this for him for his birthday/Father's Day and he put it on that day and hasn't taken it off. He talks about it every time I talk to him, which is several times a week, to tell me how many miles he walked this week, how many workouts at the gym, and about how he is sleeping. Then he tells me how motivating to him it is being able to see that information and he has picked up the pace. Not that he needs motivating. I can't wait to get my own.

Daughter loves it
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love the fact that its waterproof. That is one of the reasons I got it for my daughter. It's easy to use, comfortable. The one bad thing I found with it is that the step tracker is not working properly. It measures steps when we are driving in the car.

A Step Back from Vivofit 1
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been a long time fan of the Garmin. I owed the prior version, which generally very good. I loved that I did not have to charge the battery once every two to three days. On the downside, it had difficulties with bicycling - no calories. So, when the next version came out, I had to get it. Well, experiences have not been good. The first version did not want to pair - returned. The second version worked until one day the display locked up and the unit became inoperative. As you can see quality has not been good. Final comment - it still has problems with bicycling.

Great Watch / Activity Tracker
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I read all of the reviews on different a Activity Tracker. I had originally been looking at a Fit Bit but, looking at the specs and the way the information downloads to it's app. I believe this is a better product. I am very happy with my purchase.

good product if all functions work
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought the Vivofit2 because it had good ratings and I have another Garmin product which I was happy with. It said it had the audible alert but the audible alert did not work nor did it reset itself after 1 hour of inactivity. Called Garmin and they were of no help. Said to take it back to store which was inconvenient. The other features were good.

Posted .Thank you so much for your review. I'm sorry to hear about the audible alert trouble that you experienced with your vívofit 2. You can learn more about the audible tone feature, including how to turn it on/off, by reading this FAQ: http://support.garmin.com/support/searchSupport/simpleCase.htm?caseId={2002bd60-2bdf-11e5-7340-000000000000}&kbName=garmin. Still, an exchange of the device would be necessary if the audible alerts do not work after troubleshooting with Garmin Customer Care (http://j.mp/GRMNSupport). This instance is uncommon and I'm very sorry for the inconvenience that this caused. Regardless, we appreciate your input and for taking the time to write this review. (KS)

Not really an activity tracker
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this item because of the "reminder" bar that prompts you to work out. That feature works ok (can't really hear the reminder tone though) but everything else on this tracker doesn't work properly. It doesn't count steps, it counts arm movements. If you are on a treadmill, and hanging on to the bar, it won't record any steps taken. It also counts "steps" while in sleep mode! Again, because it is counting arm movements. I have never heard of arm movements having anything to do with getting fit! Today, my Vivofit says that I have taken 2,520 steps and have burned 1,418 calories. Anyone who has ever counted calories knows how hard you have to work out, to "burn" 1,418 calories! You can't burn 1,418 calories by only walking 2,520 steps. Therefore, there is no accuracy whatsoever with this Vivofit 2. You can use it as a watch if you want, but to pay $100+ for something that doesn't track steps accurately, doesn't count calories, etc., really seems to be a waste of money. Plus, the Garmin program that resides on your phone is also hard to decipher. The program itself isn't very intuitive or easy to use. This one is going back to the store.

Great device

Innaccurate calorie counting during Title Boxing!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this product to measure calories burned during my Title Boxing classes, and both times it was inaccurate! I wore it in conjunction with the heart rate monitor band, which stopped working after 15 minutes of class the 1st time & the 2nd time it didn't measure my heart rate at all! I will be returning this product this week.

Posted .Thank you for taking the time to write a review for your vívofit 2 activity tracker.
The vívofit 2 calculate calories based on a heart rate calculation generated by Garmin. This generic heart-rate-rate based calorie count uses heart rate, activity class, gender and weight.
To eliminate erratic heart rate data or no data being recorded; ensure HRM is worn on either your side or back, close-fitted. Warm up for 5–10 minutes before an activity; try a cotton shirt or wetting your shirt: synthetic fabrics can rub or flap against HRM creating static electricity which can interfere with HR signals.
For troubleshooting steps and causes for erratic HRM data will help ensure the best possible experience when using a HRM you may visit http://support.garmin.com/support/searchSupport/simpleCase.htm?caseId={32a27c60-4935-11e2-e8a7-000000000000}&kbName=garmin

Not Accurate
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Previous reviews indicate inaccuracy. Vivofit 2 has the ability to customize stride length, but is overly sensitive in counting arm movements as steps. There is no customization option to make it less sensitive. To give an idea of how sensitive it is, it will show as much as double (100%) more steps than actually taken. Garmin indicates that the VivoFit 2 is just to give you an idea of your general activity level, but the degree of inaccuracy doesn't even allow for this. This makes it an expensive digital watch. I see similar issues with other wrist bands but not the Fitbit One that is worn on the body and am wondering if any wrist worn band that automatically tracks activity be accurate. Pros are the battery, size, ease of use, and app. But since its primary purpose is to track activity and it is so inaccurate, I give it one star.
