Last Christmas, I bought the original Vivofit Jr for my son. He liked it. Unfortunately, the plastic band that came with it didn't last very long. We had to find replacement for that. Last month, the screen somehow got damaged. It now shows a black dots in one corner of the screen. This sometimes made it hard to read time. Just bought the new model as a replacement. It is a bit pricey but my son likes it. So four stars for now and hope the newer model is a bit more robust.

Bought this for my nephew for xmas and he absolutely loved it. The set up for fairly simple however, we had some issues linking others family members and friends. All in all the watch some more than I thought it did including sleep tracking. The only thing I wish it did have is waterproofing. Other than that they are having loads of fun tracking their steps and unlocking all the adventures on the Vivofit Jr app.

My 8 year old son wears it all the time, and it's great that it is water/swim proof and tracks sleep. This particular star wars design is pretty cool. The app is easy to work with and has some nice features and can be used on the iphone and ipad. The only downside is that it feels like the tracker overestimates activity and steps, but overall a great buy for young kids.

Love the ease of use and that it does not require charging unlike other activity trackers. Fully waterproof and bands are interchangable once kids get older if they dont like the character bands. Time will tell how long the battery lasts. Tracks activity, steps and sleep. Not quite sure how accurate the quality of sleep tracker is. Kids like they can get coins/rewards for doing chores that can be assigned to each kid. Love that I can see both my kids in the one mobile app. It states it will auto sync 3-4 times a day but we normally manually sync it twice a day usually right before bed and right after the kids wake. Has some personalization options for the screen to make it unique.

My son totally loves the tracker... I haven't done enough research to figure out all that it does, but he loves that it counts his steps. Gives him more reason to run around and do more during the day. I'm curious to see how long the battery lasts since there isn't a charger for it. #tbd

Its nice to finally have a kids activity tracker thats not worthless. They can actually check their wristband to see the time, how many steps they have taken, how many 'active minutes' they have and can even track chores and rewards. These are all awesome, however I wish the screen was a little brighter like in the pictures. The coordinating parent app is also nice, a bit basic but nice. Just wish there was a kid app that they could go into to see their progress.

Hello NCmedic236, We wanted to reach out to let you know that there has been an update to the vivofit jr. app that offers a new mode called Kid Mode. Kid Mode gives kids the ability to check off chores and view their app adventures on their own. The app is now also compatible with many Android and Kindle Fire Tablets. Thanks again for posting a review. -JFH

We have put the Vivofit Jr 2 through its paces and it's still performing as if it was new. I especially love the stopwatch feature and the preprogrammed timers and alarms for toothbrushing, getting ready in the morning, etc. We recently took a trip to Florida where my son swam in a saltwater pool everyday for several hours and the Vivofit is still working perfectly (we did remove it from the band and rinse and dry afterwards.) It has consistently tracked his steps and sleep patterns. The only hiccup we've had (and this is since the beginning) is that sometimes it doesn't want to sync right away manually, but it does it automatically throughout the day at random times on its own so it hasn't been a deal breaker. The app and adventure mode is cool too but my son is more interested in his fitness stats.

My 9 year old son is very happy with the Garmin Vivo Fit Jr. 2 watch for kids. He is involved multiple sports and always wanted a step counter to keep track of his daily steps. The activity tracker watch provides what he was looking for and the sleep log was a bonus for him. The chore reminder is also a nice feature we use to help remind him of certain chores. The watch has been wore on a daily basis for a month and it appears to take the normal wear and tear expected from a 9 year old boy. We have NOT had any issues with the watch concerning software or rash due to wrist band material. I only wish it had GPS tracking and cycling capabilities. My son highly recommends the watch for kids!

My 9 year old son had the previous model of Vívofit jr & loves it, but the band broke after several months. We upgraded to this newest model, & are very satisfied. It has some cool new features. He loves being able to see his steps, see what time it is, & start timers. Of course the Star Wars design is awesome too!

My kids wanted a fitbit, but they were too large for their wrists and I wasn't sure about the investment. We got this around Christmas and it was worth the risk. This worked well as I could track their chores daily and issue rewards based on that. We bought one for our 7 and 9 y/o and they worked well. Trouble with the battery running down because wasn't close enough to my phone for the entire time of an update. Ordered a new battery. Another new battery for one which just stopped working and was only 5 months old. Still worth it for what it was. I would buy it again if my kids were still this young and wanted to see if they could handle the responsibility of a more expensive watch before a fitbit.

My grandson was very interested in another fitness/activity tracker. However, it seemed a bit out of his age range. So I looked around and found this one. I was a bit hesitant at first because it wasn't exactly what he had on his Christmas list. I took a chance and went for it. He was so thrilled and it was such hit. The best part is he uses it everyday and really works toward the goals. Perfect in every way. I think the only challenge could be the parent getting it dialed in for them. We didn't have that problem. But I could see where it could be an issue for some. I think you'll be surprised at how much motivation it provides for your kid/grandkid to be physically active and even set chore goals. :).

I got my son the model before this one and he loves it! My daughter was begging for one for her bday so when I found this one I had to get it for her. This model has great features and I love the alarm reminders. Me and my kids have competitions daily on steps completed. My kids love earning coins for chores.

My daughter begged us for this new watch. It is awesome you can set chores and timers and you can award them tokens when they complete there chores. It’s also water proof and has a one year battery so you don’t have to charge it.

Purchased for my ten year old. She loves it! The app loads to a tablet without issue and there's no need for a phone. It best with the app connected, and it offers great incentives to get moving. My daughter has worn I during field hockey and soccer games without issue.

This product could be amazing but it has some issues. Mainly with the app and the syncing. My son loves it and has been trying to get all his activity and points every day. I took one star for the poor app and syncing.

this is 2nd Vivofit jr2 watch for my son. his first one survived for almost two years until i purchased a battery from HEB and the battery leaked within 2 days, which damaged the watch. the watch is very easy to use for elementary age kids, my son likes the features include timers and step count. He can also make race with his friends at school who also use Vivofit jr 2.

We went back and forth between this watch and the vtech watch for our almost 8 year old. The other watch seemed geared toward more younger kids. He never takes this watch off, besides when he takes a shower. It says it’s waterproof, but we haven’t tested it out yet. He loves how he can compare steps with Mom and dad. If you’re on the fence about getting one for your kids, do it. They will love it. I will be buying another one for my daughter.

Was looking for a tracker for my son. This is a great tracker. Easy to set up, accurate and like that the band has clasps rather than just the band so we can adjust the size.
