This GE toaster is exactly what I expected. No Frills. No Gimmicks. No exaggerated marketing. The toaster is so simple that the box lists only 1 feature....that it can toast two slices of bread. Literally no other features are listed. ...And, because it does indeed have two slots, it lives up to every promise that it makes. The process of toasting is rather slow and the toasting is fairly uneven, but the resulting toast is nicely crisped (as opposed to only being browned on the outside with the inside left overly soft). The toaster feels as though it has a nice build quality and my whole family was impressed by how solid the lever feels when pressed down. My main complaint is that the crumb tray is located on the back of the toaster. I guarantee that my family will completely forget about the tray (out of sight, out of mind). And so, the toaster is absolutely destined to become caked with toast crumbs. Overall, a good toaster that works as expected. The full price is probably a bit high (compared to the competition), but I have no doubt that once on sale it will end up an appropriate cost. Plus, Best Buy guarantees their low prices - so ya really can't go wrong. Fun Fact: This simple GE Toaster has replaced the ultra expensive Touchscreen Revolution R180 Toaster in our house. (See the included picture which shows them side by side.) PROS: + 13 available shade/cook levels + The knob clicks at each of the 13 levels + Lever has a solid / quality feel + Cord track underneath allows the cord to be fed out of the side, or the back of the toaster + The shell of the toaster is slightly convex which prevents the outside from getting too hot (to the touch) + LED lights turn on to show which toasting mode is selected Cons: - Outside Quickly Collects Fingerprints and Smudges - Does not toast evenly (see attached pictures) - Crumb Tray is located in the back (which is inconvenient - The toasting process is quite slow (even for lower levels of crispness) - The Bagel option still cooks both sides of the Bagel (instead of only turning on the inner heating coils as would be expected).

This is a very nice two slice toaster that goes well with my stainless steel appliances. You really couldn't ask for a better looking toaster. I like the frozen setting for my waffles. It handles bagels well. I toast most items on a setting of 3 although that could be turned up to 4 for English muffins if you like them browner. Most smaller round buns will fit into this toaster and larger ones if you flatten them a bit. Three is about the maximum setting for buns as they get pretty brown. On my particular toaster, I cannot imagine using settings 6 and 7 as most items would burn at those settings but otherwise, it's 5 stars.

Verdict: It’s a beautiful machine that works well. We love it in our kitchen. Functionality. The toaster works well and has just the right options. Our previous toaster had too many buttons, most of which we never actually used. This toaster has just three buttons and a shade knob. Things I like: - Just the right number of buttons - It toasts our bread great - It has the usual convenient trap door to remove crumbs - It looks absolutely amazing! Things I don’t like: - It is a little wide… wider than our previous toaster. We have lots of space in our kitchen, so it’s not a big deal for us, but if your counter space is really limited, you may want to consider something more compact. Overall, we love it. It’s beautiful and it works great.

Solid toaster, works as intended and looks very modern. Bread, bagels, pop tarts etc… it all comes out just right.

Arrived in good packaging. The toaster works like any other one should. Both bread sides are evenly toasted, even bagels turn out perfect. No dents, blemishes whatsoever on the toaster itself . Matches my stainless steel GE appliances very well. love it

The GE 2-Slice Toaster is a great and affordable toaster. It looks sleek on my counter and delivers perfect toast every time. The adjustable settings ensure I get just the right level of browning. Its much wider than my previous standard toaster which is a plus. Lastly, it's easy to clean with a removable crumb tray. Highly recommended for those seeking consistent toast!

Bought this as a gift for my 80+ year old dad, who just wants a toaster that works and has an old school dial. This met those requirements. It works well now that I made the usual “adjustments” required on nearly all new toasters. In order to make sure things toast evenly, you need to 1st “adjust” the individual heating elements to make sure there is a small “gap” at each heating point across each filament string. Once you do that (because many will be flat against the back & not glow, until bent outwards) it will toast evenly. Even though I had to adjust it a bit, it's still a very good unit. Many new toasters won't toast evenly no matter what you do to them.

We have a very small kitchen counter and I was looking for a smaller toaster. This toaster fit perfectly. The pull out crumb tray is very convenient compared to my old toaster. The settings seem to work fine. We do not like dark toast and we found that we needed to use setting 1 or 2 in order to keep the toast light enough for us. The only con would be that sometimes it seems like the toast and bagels are not evenly toasted. I would recommend this toaster. Easy to clean too.

This toaster is so light! I’m hoping that it lasts beyond where it’s weight might imply. So far has worked like a charm. The darkness control works nicely and the toast comes out toasted on both sides and nice and hot. I’ve only used it with freshly baked bread and is hard to fit a slice. I’m pretty sure 2 slices per slot of regular grocery store bread aren’t going to fit either. Still I’m glad I purchased it. Great for a quick morning breakfast.
