This was purchased as a replacement for out failed 18 month old Samsung which we loved. Our appliances are Black Stainless Steel, and we required a counter depth unit, and of course, had to be from Best Buy, so we were limited to only a few choices. The few reviews we read about this GE complained about the noise, but I figured that would be a subjective issue. SO here we go: Appearance - beautiful. fit ad finish - very nice. Space is very good. Interior drawers and shelves, effective and efficient design, promotes a quality product. I like the auto fill feature for water, but it is more of a novelty for now, as I do not quite trust it to stop before overfilling. It has a very large opening and tray extends for large containers for ice or water, The ice can come out in a wide pattern, and if you do not hold you cup up close, cubes can miss and make it to the floor. We ordered the extra ice maker that installs in the freezer, but that has not been installed yet, but for our family of three, we have not had an issue with ice. Lots of nice features, but primarily, I have to say, the overall fit and finish of the cabinet, doors, trays and hardware is every bit what you would expect from a 3K+ appliance, no complaints here. Negatives: you have to open both doors to access the deli/ meat tray. Its a very nice drawer, with multiple settings, but we were accustom to the two drawer set up in our previous fridge, and this seems a bit wasteful. The other issue -Noise. Yes, it is a loud refrigerator. So much so, we did not purchase too many cold storage items for a few weeks because we contemplated exchanging it. But, again, our choices are limited, and they all have "cons" in the reviews. We became more accepting of the noise as we became more familiar with the refrigerator. In fact, the more we use it, and start to truly load it up, the more we appreciate the construction, the design, its space. The fact that the ice maker is in the door and the filter is streamlined along the inside, really opens up more space. result, we like it a lot. 4 out 5 stars, due to the noise.

Do like the door in door feature. The auto fill though sometimes doesn't work correctly. Might have to start the fill two or three times. Also found that the freezer door can be a little sketchy on closing. Acts like something in way of closing, but unable to find anything. Fridge seems to be level side to side and front to back. Not pleased with touch screen for checking or changing unit temperature.

Great size for us and lots of storage on the doors. Love the door in the door feature. Counter depth also gives us more floor space. I’m sp glad we chose the black stainless, it looks very elegant

This fridge is a little noisy and the separators in the freezer are made out of cheap plastic. The veggie and fruit drawers are super tiny and hardly fit any food. The installers of the fridge were fighting at my house and completely unprofessional but I was too scared to ask them to leave.

We replaced a similar style Samsung refrigerator with this GE Profile counter-depth fridge. The door in door feature is our favorite (also had with the Samsung) and was a requirement. GE has a much nicer layout for that feature as well as overall. The water dispenser is more friendly than the Samsung (fewer spills) although it took a little getting used to it being higher. A great feature is the no (or far fewer) fingerprints with the black stainless steel color.

We purchased this refrigerator as a warranty replacement for a beautiful Samsung that imploded at the 15 month mark. We had very specific criteria which led us to 3 refrigerators to choose from - with this model having the largest capacity for our specs. Pros: Beautiful fit and finish; very spacious and well laid out interior (upper section); Auto fill feature works surprisingly well; Ice tray in the door allows for more refrigerator space; flexible shelving; added optional ice maker in bottom freezer is terrific; matches perfectly with the Black Stainless appliance (Samsung) we have in our kitchen ( non of which I would recommend); Easy to maintain, relatively mark free exterior. Large area to fill water - you can place a pitcher, tall lass - very nice. Cons: TOO LOUD!!!!!!!! ; Freezer drawers just large baskets - not much room, and difficult to organize items. But the real issue is the noise. I swear it sounds like a small plane turbine as it starts up - it actually increases in intensity and pitch for 10 -15 seconds - then sustains a steady loud wine the entire time the compressor is on. I read the reviews on line and thought the complainers were simply very particular and expected total silence - but whoa no - this thing is loud! Too bad - its a really nice refrigerator in all other aspects. I cannot believe the people at GE actually allowed this issue to go unresolved prior to releasing this product to the market.

stopped working right 2 weeks after warranty ended

I liked this refrigerator until it stopped working properly two weeks after the one-year warranty ended. It stopped dispensing ice/water and an interior light wouldn't work, intermittently. Then it stopped cooling properly. Often it seems too warm and lots of humidity on everything, and not after any opening/closing. I did buy the extended warranty. Had a repairman out, but it was working at that point. If I hit the turbo cool button, it cools down again. Sometimes, if you remove then reinsert the ice holder in the door with a good slam, it may begin dispensing ice/water again. Then, stops dispensing. It doesn't work. Repairman told me coil and fan are too close to each other, ice builds up, and he recommends I unplug my refrigerator for three days and let it defrost, once per year! Hah! What am I supposed to do with my food? Repairman told me perhaps there was a power surge, and the unit had to reset. I don't think that's right.
