I purchased this item for our medium sized bedroom. My wife and I are very happy with this unit. It is pleasant to listen to, looks very nice, and leaves our room with a lite, airy feeling when used in conjunction with the UV light. For our main part of home we use a Winex Plasma (great for large areas). The Germguardian is fantastic for medium to small areas. I believe the normal consumer will be very happy with the Germguardian. The only negative I can mention is, be advised, Best Buy DOES NOT carry in their stores neither the replacement filter for it, nor the UV replacement bulb.

It definitely makes the air feel and smell fresher it does not rotate like others but it's so quiet you can leave it on all nite and not notice it's on compact and powerful over all a good buy

This product does what it exactly suppose to do. There are three speed settings: low, med, and high. It gets pretty noisy at the max level. However, at low the noise level is decently quiet, which is suitable during sleep. The design looks sleek and the UV light (blue light) aren't just for shows! It's actually designed to kill off germs, which I didn't know at first! After using the product in my room, you do feel a different (as my room has collects tons of dusts with the computer and other systems). Definitely recommend this to any friends that are looking for an air purifier!

When we took my son back to college his room had an odor and we found the AC had not been working properly. The next morning he woke up with an asthma attack. So we went to Best Buy to purchase an air purifier. While we were hoping to spend a little less money, this turned out to be the perfect choice. It is slim & compact so it fits in his room with no problem. After a few days, the air quality cleared up and he claims it is quiet as well. My son totally loves this air purifier. I'd buy it again for our home & my daughters college dorm as well.

Living in Los Angeles and the amount of smog and other volitile chemicals in the air can have some affect on people. I purchased this unit to clean my indoor air and i couldnt be happier! My place smells better and the amount of dust that settles on my shelves and other places has been reduced, so there is less dusting to do. I seem to sleep better with the white noise it provides and with the uv light, while bright is great for night time use. I feel its a great product and it actually has a nice industrial design.

When my son gets hit with a respiratory illness, he gets hit hard. Combine that with asthma, allergies like pollen and possibly to our pets and sooner or later I have to do a full court press to help support his symptoms and comfort, promote recovery and an environment conducive to sleep, rest and recovery. To say nothing of a maintenance mode going forward. Add to that we stripped our house to the studs and remodeled it. New materials and carpets bring their own dust, etc. So I bought 2 of these for bedrooms and 2 huge units for living and family rooms. There is a NOTICEABLE difference in air quality. A deep inhale feels cleaner, like ocean air without the moisture or salt. Hard to explain, worth every penny. I caught a cold while he was on the mend so I used the UV light. We run these with the door "cracked." My son's baseline symptoms both while sick and while healthy are improved with these. But beyond being functional and a great value, they look COOL. That's not needed but they are a seriously stylish addition. And I love the blue light for UV. The Low setting is quiet enough that my son can sleep with it on all night. BIG PLUS. Love these. No going back. Highly recommended.

I bought one of these on sale for $70 and I wish that I had gotten two at that price. Noticeable difference immediately in air quality in my bedroom and it's quiet on the lowest setting. The ionizer works great at replacing stale air with cleaner and better smelling air. The filters are easy to find and a breeze to replace. My daughter's allergist highly recommends this one so I did get a second for her but at the regular price of $99. Still a good buy.

We've had this purifier for about or month or two now. With three cats in an older house, I've definitely been able to tell a difference in the air quality in our bedroom and living room. It's quiet, easy to shut the UV light off at night, and stands nicely out of the way while pulling air from both rooms. Easy to clean, too! Might even consider getting a second one to cover the other half of the house.

I was expecting this product to help keep the dust down and lessen my allergies. It not only has done this but also it took the doggy odor away. He sleeps next to my bed and phew can he be smelly (and dusty). I put the air purifier on and within a couple of hours when I walk back in the room the odor seems to have gone away!!! I have been using the product for a little over a month - have not needed to change the filters yet and it seems to be running smoothly. I run it maybe 4 to 6 hours every 3 days or so. My allergies have basically disappeared. I love it!

I bought this HEPA air purifier to help with odors in the apartment I just moved into. It works wonderfully! In addition, I noticed my boyfriend no longer sneezes when he comes over, so I imagine it's helping with the cat hair/dander. I chose this one because of its size; it's compact and fits nicely in any corner of the apartment. I noticed a lot of reviews had complaints about the noise, but even on the 3rd setting it isn't loud at all. I love the noise it provides! It makes sleeping at night peaceful! I would recommend this to anyone looking for a HEPA air purifier!

Runs very quite. Multiple speed selection. Out air feel fresh. Good for a small room. Wish cord can be little longer.

It works. It cleans the air in our house. It's quite, and pulls the dust out of the air. What more can you say.

The Germ Guardian-3-1is a great product to have if you're in a small apartment building.The air quality in my apartment is very bad. The first day I used the Guardian I breathed and felt much better than I had since I moved in. I was able to get a good nights sleep without tossing and turning and the dry nose. I'm going to purchase another one for a separate room. And I got it at a reasonable price. Thank you

This machine provides a noticeable difference in air quality for the room it is in. I ran it at full strength for 24 hours, then I left it on at the lowest speed. It keeps the air fresh and is quiet. I have since purchased more for my home and given to others as a gift.

After reading lots of reviews I ended up getting the Germ Guardian. We have this unit placed in our bedroom and what a difference it made. Usually in the morning I am coughing or sneezing like crazy, but after using this device it stopped. The Germ Guardian is pretty quiet, the highest setting sounds like white noise, which works for me. I would recommend this for anyone interested in a purifier.

We bought this air purifier for spring pollen season. It was a good price for a unit with this size and features, and Best Buy's price was very competitive. We put it in a bedroom that is a little larger than the purifier's maximum, but we close the doors and it really does the job. It is noisy on the high setting so we turn it down at night and up again in the morning. My wife was very pleased with this product.

This air purifier works perfectly to clean the air of the smoke that comes into my apartment from my downstairs neighbor. It is quiet enough that when I have to run it all night, it doesn't keep me up. It is small enough that it fits well in my bathroom, where the smoke comes in through the vents.

My review is going to be a little confusing... The product works well and is easy to understand. I do not notice a huge difference (except when I take off the filter and it's covered in dust), but our allergies are not bothering us as much anymore. Are they gone? No, but certainly better. I wouldn't say it helps with the dog smell as much as I was hoping, but we did go with a pretty basic model. It was affordable, but I am noticing a pretty large hike in our utility bill now that we are running it constantly. I wish I would have spent a little more money and got something a little more powerful especially since I'm already seeing a large increase in the utility bill. I mean you might as well go for something that works throughout the whole house.

I'm using this in my master bedroom. My wife has three little, smelly dogs that she insists stay in the room with us at night. As you can imagine, the putrid odor from these mutts is horrific since they never get baths. And I have to constantly be on the lookout for stepping on urine or feces from these not-so-well potty trained mutts. Their dander and hair coats everything in the room like a fine powdery snow on a cold winter day. With the door closed at night, I feel that I'm trapped in a coffin deep under ground, struggling for one last gasp of fresh air. Every day since the dogs have entered my life, I ask myself if this is h-e-l-l. Then the GermGuardian 3-in-1 True HEPA Air Purifier came along. I turned it on for the first time and closed the door behind me. I came back in an hour later, and I was amazed at how much fresher the air was in the room. It's as if the GermGuardian uses tiny lasers to blast away odor particles in the room, rendering them inert. The deep fog of dust and dander that clouded the room summarily dissipated, leaving behind only pure, fresh, breathable air for the first time in many months. And I am starting to believe that maybe there is some hope for me on this earth, so there is no need to continue plotting my own demise. The only flaw with the GermGuardian is that it is very loud on the highest fan setting. Of course, there is no fan setting high enough to completely counteract the stench of the smelly mutts in my room, but the GermGuardian makes a valiant effort. I also wish there was a way to turn off the blue light for the UV lamp so I wouldn't have to turn that setting off at night. The blue light is blinding when you're trying to sleep, akin to staring at the midday sun. Of course, I've thought about sticking hot pokers in my eyeballs so I don't have to look at the piles of vomit and feces in the middle of the floor, so maybe this is blue light is a good feature. The bottom line is that I recommend this product. It may just save your life.

I bought this item due to seasonal allergies that I recently developed. I also have cats it the house. After just a brief time once plugged in I could already smell the difference in the air. I ran out and bought another. I have been running this air cleaner for over 2 months and not only does the air smell fresher but there is less dust too.
