Great Product for Streaming
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great product for streaming Netflix, Hulu, Google Movies, Photos etc using an iPad, iPhone, android, or PC. No need for another remote, your iPad etc does the job. Love it, easy set-up. Also great for streaming exercise videos from you tube to a flat screen.

Very good overall and cheap
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall, it's very easy to use. Set up was simple and I'm able to stream most video easily. The video quality is very good. On occasion it locks up or buffers, but works almost all the time. Not bad at all for under $30.

Excellent streaming device for TVs
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Google Chromecast solved the main problem I had with streaming videos to my TV, Youtube viewing. A lot of youtube is viewed in my household but we've never found a good dependable option for sending to the TV. I have ROKU and WD TV LIVE STREAMING devices and neither could do this without major buffering and slow response (ROKU must use third party apps that rarely work well since there is no Youtube channel yet due to failed negotiations). With Chromecast, it easily sends to the TV in excellent quality with almost no buffering issues. I believe it helps that the Chromecast is pulling the video information directly from WiFi as opposed to the device that's controlling it, such as a phone or tablet. You tell it what to show you and it retrieves it 'from the cloud', letting you to continue working on your device doing other things if desired. The same can be said for the Netflix streaming option in terms of quality, my ROKU and WD TV LIVE STREAMING devices both do Netflix just fine but Chromecast adds the option of using a phone, tablet, or laptop as a remote and the interface is easy to use. The option to Chromecast a tab from Google Chrome on your laptop/PC is also a great feature. I have used it to show various things on the TV to others such as pictures, websites, other videos sites that do not yet support Chromecast as well. This means I was able to 'cast' Amazon Prime Instant Videos by sharing the fullscreen tab - pretty neat. I love that this device will turn any TV with HDMI into what I call a 'smart-capable' TV. I currently do not have any smart TV's with apps added into the interface, but I don't need one. This very reasonably priced device at a low $35 is well worth the money if you desire an easier method to get Youtube and Netflix on your TV screen. No doubt in the near future many other apps will be added to use this feature and the life of the product will be long and ever growing.

Pretty Cool
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Having the ability to watch game film at home and on my TV using Hudl is what sold me on this device. I'd love to be able to watch more using my phone, but the laptop isn't that big of a hassle. It small, out of the way, and super easy to use and install.

Awesome Product
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Chromecase is great, I've used it to stream Hulu and other content to my TV with no problems. Setup is easy. Well worth the $35. I purchased it when there was a free trial of Hulu Plus and some Google Play credit which made the purchase an even better deal.

Overall nice for the price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Chromecast was easy to set up. I use it to stream Plex and Netflix pretty frequently. It seems to be a bit glitchy every now and then and lose connection on my iphone. Have to close the app and load again for it to work. Quality of the device and picture are both good. Haven't tried a lot of casting the internet. Did stream a few youtube videos that seemed to work well. Nice not to have a remote but a bit more difficult to pause the show when someone calls. Overall good device for the price.

Works great if you have Smartphone and Netflix
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This thing works really well if you have a tablet and netflix. It works great with Youtube but a laptop starts to get bulky. Does not work with linux which is outrages considering how much google depends on linux.

Excellent way to get Netflix & Youtube on TV
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Beats Roku and Apple TV for Netflix & Youtube because you can pick the content from the mobile apps instead of going through the box interfaces. The price makes is a fraction of the other boxes especially when you consider the Netflix subscription. It plugs directly into an HDMI port on the TV rather than being a box you have to find space for. Draws power from a USB port on the TV or by included adaptor. It does have a light on it that can be annoying in a dark bedroom. Supported services are very limited (no Hulu, Amazon Instant, etc. as of 8/13). Hopefully more will be supported over time. .

Works as advertised - love it
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. With Google Chromecast, I am able to watch on any TV the shows I have on my iPhone or iPad through Showtime Anytime, HBO Go and NetFlix. It was relatively easy to set up and as long as there is a good WiFi connection, there is little or no lag time.

Super Easy
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great product, especially for the price. So easy to install and use from any mobile device. I cast from my iPad and iPhone. Liked it so well, I installed one for my parents. At 85 years old, even they use it and enjoy it! Highly recommend!

Easy Setup & So Fast
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a non-smart TV, and this is an excellent product add-on. It works great and aside from some bugs with apps (w/ my iPhone) it is super fast and easy to work with. Can watch Korean dramas on Viki, funny videos on YouTube, and tv series on Netflix.

works well but limited to Chrome apps
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Chromecast media player does its job well when the media stream is controlled through the Chrome browser on a laptop. I didn't try its capabilities using Android or iPhone because my Nokia Windows 8.1 smartphone is not supported by Google. Before I owned the Chromecast, I would stream Netflix and Hulu video streams through my Samsung Blu-Ray player to my TV. But even after the latest updates, it would sometimes crash in the middle of a Netflix movie. My Chromecast streams Netflix fine to my TV (through an Onkyo receiver) and hasn't crashed so far. The Chromecast plugin is easily installed in the Chrome browser and clicking the plugin icon shows whatever is displayed in the Chrome browser, including Hulu and YouTube. Unlike other wireless streanming solutions such as Intel WiDi or Miracast, the PC/laptop is not involved in streaming content which is good as long as streaming is supported in Chrome. Starting and stopping the stream is a bit awkward (you need to do this through the laptop) but I can live with it. But if I want to show my pictures stored in Lightroom on the TV I am out of luck. For that, I am using WiDi in my laptop and an Actiontec receiver. Thus, for what it does, Chromecast is a capable, affordable and easy to install device. But beware of its limitations. I have played with Google's SDK to stream web content to my TV. It is a workable solution if you don't mind JavaScript programming.

As advertised
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sometimes, the little things impress the most. The Chromecast popped right into an HDMI port on the TV, then plugged into a USB port for power. The Android app on my cellphone found it immediately, and I was "casting" from Netflix, HBO GO, Hulu, and the web right away. The streaming video is even prettier than the HD signal coming over my Comcast cable, and we have no delays or buffering issues! I bought a second Chromecast for the bedroom TV (which does not get the HD cable), and the picture there is vastly improved. This little 3" wonder is nothing short of magic. $35.00? Buy it!

Google chromecast
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a brilliant, easy to use connector for Netflix or anything you want to stream. I have below par tech skills and I found it super easy to use. It is cheap and works great--opens a whole new world for you relaxing time in front of the tube.

Works well
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love Chromecast. I can find things on You Tube or Netflix and watch them all day long on the T.V. I wish it worked with Amazon's Prime Video though. Right now it is very limited in what it will work with.

Here's the thing..
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A LOT of people ask for reviews on this item. Here are the facts: - This product works IN CONJUNCTION with another.. You'll need your computer, tablet or smartphone to get applications to stream to your TV. - This product is great value for your money, if you consider the price. $35 isn't bad, and we usually use your phone while watching TV anyway.. So what's the big deal? - It links with HDMI AND a USB cable. They provide a long USB cable, and USB AC adapter in the box when you get it, to hook up to your TV or into a wall socket. - You need a wireless network! Think this is obvious, but this item requires (that goes for the other media streamers as well..) a strong wireless network for streaming. If you don't like things buffering, please take the time to consider your ISP and if they're giving you enough download speeds to insure quality service through whatever streaming service you're using. - This item does not do mirroring. Possibly in the future, but Google has announced plans to create a new media streaming device that might replace this one.. You have a list of applications you can stream from your computer, tablet or smartphone but not everything is able to be streamed through an app. - I returned my unit, it stopped connecting to the internet. I would have just replaced it.. But opted to purchase an Apple TV unit instead, because of it's included remote. - Very subjective purchase.

Nice, Could Be Better
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I thought I would try this on a smaller TV we have in our bedroom as an alternative to always going to the living room to watch the Roku. It works amazingly well and much cheaper than Roku. It's reliable & everything. The way I think of it is that I use my Droid smartphone or iPad as a remote to tell this what to find on the internet via wifi. It's not streaming from the phone or iPad. I just wish they had more apps. It has some of the basics like Hulu Plus and Youtube. They need to have more.

Great Addition for TV
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wanted something that would enable me to view YouTube and Netflix on my "not-smart" TV via my iPad. Easy set-up, good price. Could not set up through my home cable wireless system, so have to use my Mi-Fi.

An excellent device.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have three of these Chromecasts. Two at home and one at my In-Laws. I can display photos straight from my phone to the TV. You can watch YouTube, Google Play, Netflix and Chrome browser to the Chromecast. Now you can have a TV sized browser. If the media is in the cloud, the Chromecast will steam it and you can use your phone/tablet to do something else whole the Chromecast keeps pushing! Best $35 device you can buy to compliment your phone or tablet.
