I LOVE THIS THING!!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I LOVE THIS THING!!!! I know there are a variaety of products out there that do the exact same thing, but I love that I can use my phone/tablet/pc with it. I like that its easy to take other places and set it up. Its so simple! And way better prices than the other things. Great product. My only complaint is that it is limited to apps that work with it. There are a lot of them, but I'm still hunting for an app that lets me watch my videos that aren't on the Google play store.

Easiest way to stream to your TV
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Once you spend the 10 minutes or so to set it up, using it couldn't be easier. iPhone, Android, iPad, even your computer - everything streams seamlessly. This is my second one for a second television.

My third Chromecast (all of them work fine)...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not the best device in the world but there's a lot of potential. Inexpensive and works with smartphones and connected computers. Requires a common Wi-Fi connection (meaning same login in same location for all devices - you can not use 4G, or LTE, must be Wi-Fi). You can stream major services such as hulu, Netflix, YouTube, crackle, songza, hbo, and some others, but subscriptions to those bigger services are usually needed, which you can just sign in from on your phone to access. Now the app allows you to cast your screen directly to your tv for sharing photos and apps, unfortunately, the lag time causes some problems with smooth video/audio, however this does not happen when you are watching hulu or Netflix, only when casting your phone's screen directly. Just a little bigger than a USB drive using HDMI to connect to your tv, it is super portable. I own Roku, Chromecast, and have Wi-Fi tv's. I have not tried fire tv yet. The only reason why this is a four star review is because not enough apps offer casting capabilities. There are a lot of programmers making apps for this in the play store. I bought one that allows one to draw on your phone or tablet and cast the image to the screen like a white board, and even save the image, it's called castpad, my 4 year old Bruce played with that when she visited, look ma, no messy pens and crayons and papers, lol. I have no cable, no satellite, no landline, just internet. This tool is part of my entertainment arsenal.

Great streamer...easy to use.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Looked at several devices and this is the fastest, least expensive streamer that works easily with your PC. Waiting for the mobile release and access from more apps. Installation was simple and painless.

Cheap & Easy Streaming Video
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you are already using Google Movies & TV, Google Music, Netflix, &/or Hulu Plus, then this device is a marvel. It allows you to send your streaming music and video to your HDTV through a simple HDMI connection that is charged via USB or an AC adapter. It only took a few minutes to setup with my Wi-Fi connection and I was soon watching YouTube videos (something that my Roku will not allow.) In fact, anything that can be played on the Chrome browser can be streamed to Chromecast. On the one hand, no separate controller is necessary. Yay! No new remote to lose! You can start a movie via your smartphone, tablet, or computer. On the other hand, whichever device started a movie, show, or song is the one necessary to pause or stop it. It will keep playing until the end, even if that device is not around ... but if the person who started the media must leave, take a call, or whatever then the remaining viewers must either wait for them to return to pause the media or stop it, or must hi-jack it with another device. This is only a minor annoyance for me, since I live alone. But I can see it being more of an issue with families or roommates. Also, if a person already has a Roku, PS4, XBox One, or other streaming device, there is a lot of overlap in content possibilities. The potential user should look carefully and decide whether they really need this particular device. Still, for the new user, or for someone who likes what the Chromecast offers, it is a fantastic deal.

The best way to stream Google services
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's cheap. It works. And, since Google sends whatever you stream directly to the Chromecast, it looks and sounds better than other streaming. If you use Google Play you should get a Chromecast.

Easy no frills gadget enabling Smart TV features
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Chromecast is a simple, low cost device to enable Smart TV features to any TV that has an HDMI port. Setup is simple for most people who are semi-technology literate. However, I bought a few of these for relatives that were overwhelmed by what they thought were very complex setup instructions. Personally, I would beg to differ. But not everyone is technology literate. I will have to go over to their homes to setup the system. Hopefully they will have their WiFi password available, and know how to navigate through their PC and hand-held devices to manage content through the Chromecast device. Keep in mind you will need to supply power to the Chromecast device. You can do this via USB to an existing USB powered source, or by the separate power supply provided with the unit. Net-net, the Chromecast is a simple, no frills device easy to setup and use for technology literate folks (know the basics of WiFi setup, understand what is USB or HDMI, etc, and are not challenged by managing content through a Tablet/Smart Phone/PC/Laptop/etc. It may not be a good choice for those who are not.

Does very well what it is supposed to do!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have an Apple TV and was looking for a simple way to stream from my MacBook and Laptop to another TV in the house but did not want to spend that much so got the Google Chromecast. It does exactly what it is supposed to do and, in regards to streaming from the Laptop to the TV, is even better then Apple TV's airplay feature. Streaming from services with better players such as Netflix or Hulu is absolutely fantastic. But even streaming from other websites with less developed players works even better then other options that I tried so far. If you are looking for simply streaming from your mobile device or laptop to your TV the Google Chromecast is the way to go.

Great streaming device for a great price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Chromecast works as advertised, and is simple to put into operation with very little effort. Yes, it is limited to only certain content...but that's fine for 99% of us. It's smaller than other devices on the market, costs less, and works easier than just about all of them (we've had Roku and Apple TV). We bought two for our kids, then bought two for my parents' house...and even my non-technology friendly parents are having no issues. Buy one! You won't regret it.

Good Value for the Price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Since I did not want to replace a perfectly good HDTV, I decided to get this instead. I'm not a big fan of Google Chrome, but I gave it a chance. HDMI plug and USB from my TV is all it needs. I installed the app on my smartphone and I can use my Netflix account and watch on my TV now. I can also stream pictures and YouTube. Any app that has the broadcast icon seems to work with it, including Vevo. I would give it 5 stars, but when I was installing the software on my PC, you have to install the Chrome browser for it to work with it. So I just opted for the smartphone interface instead.
