Great for streaming
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's a great product for streaming. My only complaint is that occasionally you might have to unplug it to get it back on. It's not often but it happens.

Great for non smart tvs
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's great for watching Netflix and the occasional YouTube video. Would be even more great if it was compatible with amazon instant video or nba game time.

A Must-Have for Any TV
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy to use and works great on any HDMI-equipped TV. Even on a "smart" TV you'll benefit from the convenience of casting your mobile device's screen or YouTube videos. Makes a great gift too.

It works perfect!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When I bought this, I didn't know what to expect. But after I got it set up, I played YouTube and Netflix. Those services worked flawlessly! The Chromecast makes it easy to play music too!

Overall Good but
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The box does not let you know that you need Android 4.4 and above to cast your phones/tablet entire phone/tablet top (like desktop) to the TV. Only certain programs can cast movies so if you have your favorite movie player that does not cast, you are stuck unless you can cast desktop of the phone/tablet. And, the box does not tell you that it works only on certain devices. So on my Samsung GS3 running Android 4.3 can't cast the phone top. But my Samsung Galaxy Tab4 Android 4.4 can. Otherwise it is a good product. I did loose connectivity 2 times while watching a movie.

Great dongle for extremely cheap price.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Super portable. Super cheap. Super useful. Casting from youtube is cute, but watching my media is more important to me. Plex works great. I don't have Netflix, but I understand that works, too.

Great device for non smart tvs
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy to use. Good price Great value I bought this as Christmas gift and the receiver lived it. The lack of a remote may deter some but you can use your cell phone which makes it practical.

good for non smart tv
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Chromecast is definitely more useful for me the roku. It is simple to use with your phone feature (android users) and can use your phone as the remote. You,re not limited to just one phone and don't need to buy extra add_ons to power it. Everything is nicely included. Note that I've run into buffering issues that don't display on PC/Laptop/cellphones when unit it left powered on more then a week, however unplugging the unit fixes it every time. They claim the unit can be left on all the time (as there is no power button). All in all I still happy with this product.

Great product
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Chromecast's unique and simple feature of casting your phone, tablet's, or computer's screen onto any TV makes it great to practically watch anything from movies, home videos, and view photos and websites. Overall the product retains what it says exactly and does a great and fantastic job of displaying everything from phone to TV. The only minor complaint is that chrome cast is not compatible with some sites and some phones may not be able to cast their entire phone, but that's ultimately due to the phone or device itself. Other than that, the product is fantastic !

Still reviewing what it can do
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As this is a relatively new item on the market, I am still finding out what is does. Essentially, it can turn an HDTV into a smart-tv of sorts. Some of the apps it currently has are You-Tube, Nexflex, Crackle, etc. with more on the way from Google as I understand. The Chromecast is still in the Beta stage. I was really surprised about how fast it finds the app that I want to use. It is much faster than my Blu-Ray player. It is kind-of difficult to set-up, but once I did, it is a breeze to use. So far, I use it with my tablet and smartphone. One thing I have found is that you can't really turn it off, just go to another input on your tv. Like I said, I'm still learning.

Nice option for PC/Mac to TV
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For the price, this was a no-brainer for me. I'm an Apple TV devotee, and am unabashedly biased in that regard, but with a few open HDMI inputs on the TV and receiver, adding Chromecast seemed like an easy way to cover at least some of those bases where AppleTV had gaps. And based on my early experience, it does just that. I probably need to work out some settings/issues on my side, because Chromecasting can be glitchy at times, but my 10-year-old seems thrilled to have it as an option for putting whatever he's watching on his Mac up on the TV screen.

Good but not great way to stream video
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For the $$ it's hard to beat Chromecast - it does what it says it will do - not flawlessly; but most of the time it functions well. My wife & I recently cut the satellite TV cord & this seemed like a great solution to our streaming needs - for $35 & 3 months of Netflix I really can't complain. I use it primarily to stream Netflix & TV shows from network sites -- 80% of the time it's a breeze; the rest of the time it is somewhat frustrating; as the Chromecast icon on Netflix will work on one episode of a TV series then when you proceed to the next episode it's curiously absent - closing & re-opening Netflix solves it but I guess I have been spoiled by the Roku box on our other TV - Roku works flawlessly (for us) but costs considerably more & you can't stream from just any site - just services like Hulu. For $35 I can live with the occasion inconveniences of the Chromecast & I hope more services will be developed and added to it. Granted you can connect your PC to your TV & with a wireless keyboard, park on the couch & do everything the Chromecast does --(that was my previous solution) but Chromecast makes it a little easier. Since the 3 months of Netflix service would cost $24 it 's worth it to me to use Chromecast. If you only want to use streaming like Hulu & Netflix buy a Roku; it's a breeze to use -if you want to stream from say, ESPN or History channel, for $35 it's hard not to like the Chromecast.

Best Basic Streamer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If your aim is to simply stream, this is the product for you... the amount apps that work smoothly are limited but over all, it'd great for the price.
