Very easy to setup and very portable. No need to find an outlet, reach over or under or behind something to plug in or unplug. Just hook up to your HDMI and a USB port and that's it.

I bought this since day 1... I have enjoyed this app so much. My wife was skeptical at first but now she uses it almost daily. We use it for Hulu Plus, Netflix, Pandora, and Google Music and Videos. My favorite use for this device is when my kids want to watch a kid friendly show on Netflix but I want to watch something different on my tablet. I cast their show to the TV and I watch my video on my device. I have had issues with the Chromecast losing connection to my network, but it connected right back as soon as I set it up once more (2 min process tops). I have also had it freeze on me a couple times when trying to load a video (Netflix both times), but other than that this device has worked flawlessly. I can't wait for Google to release the SDK so all developers can add a cast button to their apps... NHL Gamecenter is the one I am really looking forward to adding this feature. If you own a Roku, Apple TV, or other similar devices, and you are content with them, then maybe buying this device is not for you. But if you want a cheap alternate device for a 2nd tv, or you haven't bought any of those devices, this is a great option. I own 5 devices that can stream Netflix, Hulu Plus, and other apps to my living room TV, but I rarely use them now that I have Chromecast. :)

Turns every TV into a smart TV, and then some! Why pay extra for a smart TV when this works better and comes with a $20 google play credit so this is essentially 15 bucks. Well worth it

I was initially very hesitant about purchasing this product. Even the store employee warned me I would be disappointed. This is a perfect, must-have gadget for anyone who uses their laptop or phone to stream media to their HDTV. The Chromecast cuts out the now obsolete HDMI/DVI input/output cord for laptops. The device can stream literally any tab from Google Chrome browser to your HDTV. Excellent picture and sound quality, provided you have reliable wifi service. Anyone who enjoys using their computer or phone with the TV on will love this product. Take the time to learn all the ways you can use the Chromecast and additional offers once you purchase it.

I love the chromecast! You can disconnect and connect to multiple tvs without a problem. Great to watch Netflix, YouTube, or even listen to music. Definitely recommend to everyone.

Does exactly what I want. I can stream content from my PC in the other room to the TV in the bedroom. Simple to setup and use and there are some great apps that can be used with it.

We use Chromecasts in our school to make our projectors in the classrooms wireless. They work great most of the time. Definitely not flawless. There is a lot of connection issues, and it's not infrequent to have to disconnect the browser from the chromecast and re-cast. But it does work well when it works! Some of our teachers use it in conjunction with google slides, which works awesome for showing embedded youtube videos during class time.

Simply put this HDMI attachment makes any non-Smart HDTV into a Smart TV for basically $35. Amazon had it for about $29 to $30, Best Buy priced matched it, no problem. A smart score!

very easy to use. price is good. works good with Netflix/youtube app and can cast from ipad using those apps. but you cant cast using chrome on ipad. I bought this hoping to cast things to watch via chrome on ipad. so have to use my pc to cast using chrome. other than that it works well. sometimes the cast is a little jerky and tiny delay when using chrome but that could be my router...

Google Chromecast is very easy to use and retains high quality of videos. I can control the cast through voice control by Google Now. Webpages and computer screen can also be cast.

I used to stream Youtube, Netflix, etc. from my XBOX, but if XBOX Live was down I would have to go the roundabout way and connect the HDMI from my laptop to my tv which got annoying. I received this as a gift and loved it so much that I purchased it as a gift for someone else. Chromecast is very simple to setup and let's you stream your favorite videos, music, shows, and movies from your phone. Currently I use Netflix, HBOGO, Showtime Anytime, Youtube, Pandora, and PLEX, but there are a ton of apps that you can use to stream. I am thinking about purchasing one for each of the TVs in the house so that my family can experience the same luxury as me.

For the Price you are not going to find a better streaming Device out there. This is a great way to make your non-smart TV into a Smart TV. I use this product almost every night.

My roommate got one for the living room. Works great from my phone or tablet. So, I got one for my cousin, essentially turning her tv into a smart tv. For the price, totally worth it.

The Chromecast has the potential to be used heavily, but for now the lack of support from most content providers limits it's use. Since my purchase they've added Hulu (a big plus), but only from a tablet. They say it will work from an iPhone soon. It would also be nice if they added support from a PC. Netflix works very well, as does YouTube. I haven't used the google play support, but I would imagine that it works very well. Picture quality is superb, and the sound is a big plus. I was surprised to see netflix playing Dolby Digital +. This device was a piece of cake to set up. Plug it in to your tv and a power source. Google provides everything necessary depending on your situation. Then download an app (either on your computer or device) and link it to your wifi. It's automatic from there. It even updates itself automatically as new features are added. If there were more content providers available I would give it 5 stars. Soon it will likely be 5 star worthy. Also, probably most importantly.... It's STABLE!! No reboots so far. It just works.

Bought this to stream movies with an android phone. Connects very easy and streams without any delays. Was very surprised to find out that it works just as good with an IPhone 6.

We have an older plasma screen television. In order to connect to the Internet and watch Netflix or YouTube videos, we either had to use my sons Xbox or our DVD player. The problem with finding movies or videos on these devices is typing in the name is such a pain. And, these devices seem to connect very slowly. I am used to the speeds that I get on my iPad and my iPhone, not to mention my computer. I would like to be able to access Netflix and YouTube on my television just as fast. I have wanted a smart TV for a long time, but it's just not in the budget. When I saw the Chromecast and all that it could do for just 38 bucks, I was kind of skeptical. I also looked at other devices that will do similar things, but was intrigued by the idea that I could use my phone to control this device. Not just me, but everybody in my family could use their phone. It seems that we always have our phones on us, even when we watch TV. So everybody downloaded the app and can control the Chromecast from their phone as they wish. So far I've been very happy with the Chromecast. It's not as fast as my iPhone or my iPad, but it is much faster than using an Xbox or a DVD player to access streaming online. When I think about how little I paid for this device, I am very pleased with it. This is a lot of performance for a very few dollars. Not to mention it buys me some time with my old plasma screen television. With the Chromecast I will not have to upgrade to a smart TV for some time. I primarily use it for Netflix and YouTube, but I understand they are developing new apps for it all the time. I'm curious to see what else it will be able to do. It has already paid for itself. I wanted something that I could stream from the laptop, desktop or cell phone to the TV so that we could watch Netflix, YouTube, etc. I read about this online and for the price, I really couldn't go wrong. Out of the box, it seemed simple enough. Plug it into the TV (or surround sound receiver) HDMI follow the instructions and BOOM.... Or so I thought... I found that I couldn't get it to work on my Desktop. I searched forum post after forum post and eventually learned that this device does not work on hardware that is wired directly to the router. It only works with devices that are wireless. I was not able to stream videos that I had downloaded to my desktop even after following youtube videos on how to do it. So that was confusing and required WAY more work than I would have preferred. That said, however, I am VERY pleased with the Chromecast. I can stream Netflix and videos from my cell phone applications. They are adding more Chromecast applications, so they say. Netflix runs SO much smoother from Laptop and cellphone than it does on Xbox360 with almost no wait for streaming or interruptions. I have mine plugged into one of my surround sound receiver HDMI inputs and just switch to the Aux selection on the remote and hit the stream on my phone or laptop and I am watching videos in surround sound! Well worth the money.

Works seamlessly with very little setup effort. Almost plug and play device. Works with all major does that I use such as Netflix, YouTube, although I've had issues with bbc iplayer
