Chromecast is worth its price. But it fails at a lot of things it does. First off the apps aren't actually on the device so everything is done through the phone, tablet, or laptop you're using. The other problem is that most of the apps crash and don't work well when streamed to the television. But the main stuff works like phone and tablet mirroring and critical apps like hulu and netflix. Good convenient device with some easy fixes that could be made.

Worked great for streaming movies. sometimes it disconect from the smartphone and you cant pause or stop.

I got this on sale and really can't complain too much given the price point. Easy access to Netflix, Google Play and Youtube, but it doesn't currently have streaming options for Amazon and several other big name streamers. If you have a USB port on your TV, there's a good chance you can use that to power it and you won't need to use the lump to power it. Mine worked that that, and that's definitely a nice feature. It's small, and depending on the orientation of your HDMI port on your TV, might even be completely hidden from sight (especially if you can power it from the USB port on the back of the TV). I am not crazy about having to use my phone or iPad to send stuff over to it. It's just another thing I need to have handy when I'm by the TV and want to use it. If you don't already have a smart TV or blu-ray player, this would be a cheap way to get Netflix on a tv if you already have a phone or tablet that works with it. I've seen reviews that say it's nice if you're traveling and want access to stuff, but I don't travel often so can't speak to that personally.

I was a bit skeptical about the Chromecast as I really don't want to use my phone for everything. However, in reality it works pretty well. I use it with an occasional use projector. My only complaint is that I wish there was some kind of audio out. When plugged into the projector, there's no easy way to route the audio to a sound system... But that's probably an unreasonable request given the price. Easy to set up. Excellent value for money.

Great product for everyday use from Google. Converts your TV into a smart TV with everyday apps like Netflix, Youtube etc. Easy to use.

No need to pay extra for a smart TV when you can purchase this. We have the directv Genie so we already get YouTube, but for all other things it works perfect. The only downfall with this product was we bought it thinking we would get credit for Hulu plus, etc because of a promo they were running and that was not the case. But overall I think it's a cheap alternative in making tour TV a smart one especially for the price.

Easy to setup, just follow the on screen instructions. Streams you tube video with no hesitation, jittering or buffering. Works great!!

The Chromecast device is very simple to hook up (just plug into HDMI and a USB port - there's usually one on any HDTV), and easy to connect to any app you want to stream YouTube, Netflix, Hulu, etc from. You can even send a tab from your Chrome browser over Chromecast to show up on your television. Chromecast loads quickly, connects quickly, and is simple to stream a signal to - just tap the icon in the appropriate app (such as YouTube), choose to send it to your Chromecast, tap Play, then sit back and enjoy the stream!

This is the second chrome cast I've purchased. First one for me last year, this one for my daughter who's home from college for a semester. The great thing is with the caster I don't have to have a cable line run to her room for her to enjoy her favorite shows via Internet wifi. The initial setup is easy, much more so than the cable TV itself. Google is the least expensive option compared to Roku or Apple TV. And it does what we want it to do.

Streams music and video and even casts entire screen from my galaxy s5. Good product. less lag and hiccups than our appletv2 and iphone.

This device was easy to set up and well worth the price paid as opposed to buying a smart TV.

I bought the chromecast so I could watch Netflix, Hulu and YouTube on my TV. One day I'll explore the many other entertainment apps it has to offer but for me this is perfect. I like that it doesn't require a separate outlet for power if you have a USB port on your TV and it's portable so I can plug it into any tv anywhere I go as long as I have my smartphone or tablet. The only way it could be better for me is if it supported Amazon prime but that's not Google's fault. If there was a local news app I would cancel my cable!

I had my laptop connected to my TV for streaming from the internet for quite a while. This is much more compact, and I can have my laptop near me rather than going to it every time I want to change what's streaming. You can always stream any webpage as long as it's in Chrome (you just have to download the add-in), being able to stream your desktop is currently in Beta and I've had some issues with it. I imagine it will be better at some point though. Note that it does require a power cable (included but not pictured).

I have been able to use this product with no problems most of the time. However, I have had issues with lagging and choppiness. I thought this may be due to wifi connectivity issues, but even with the strongest connection and fastest wifi speeds, this seems to be an issue at times when casting the screen. Other than that, the product is easy to use and works well.

I got the google chromecast for netflic on my tv and i couldnt be happier! it is of good quality, easy to use, and easy to set up!

Great for internet streaming of movies, tv and games. Small and compact. Pretty easy to setup. Great if you're traveling, especially to locations with limited televison ( like grandma's house).
