The chromecast is not a revolutionary piece of equipment, it does exactly what dozens of other streming boxes do. That said, it does all those things just how you feel they should be done. Using my tablet to browse netflix etc. makes it a breeze to find what I want to watch. The UI is all on the tablet so I don't have to try to navigate with a remote on a screen 12 feet away. Get this and I promise you will buy one for every person you know for their next gift.

There are too many features to last here. It works great and you cannot beat the price! It is easy to use too.

easy to set up and connect to network. i wanted to use it with hoopla but there is no native app and the chromecast streaming wasnt smooth. i do have a good internet connection and do not experience problems with netflix or amazon instant video. It does not chromecast sound from cbs tv, although the video is smooth.

Zippy, easy to set up, and reliable. This is one of the better options for streaming sticks out at the moment.

Google delivers a great solution to my old approach of plugging a laptop into my TV with an HDMI cable. The chrome tab mirroring can be buggy at times, but remember the cost of this thing; its literally the price of a few aforementioned HDMI cables. Casting from an Android device through apps that have native support is a real blessing. Netflix, YouTube, Google Music, MLB At Bat, HBO Go, and many more all work pretty superbly. Strongly recommended overall!

My Chromecast HDMI player was easy 123 hook-up and start up. Works great with no lag. Great product by google!

The Chromecast is an outstanding and simple way to watch both YouTube and Netflix on your TV. It works great through my Marantz receiver to allow easy component switching. Casting Chrome web tabs is also very useful and allows for sending some tabs with live video (ie TWiT.tv) to the TV in full screen. The quality for video tabs cast is not as high as native Chromecast supported websites. (ie YouTube/Netflix) Once more websites add Chromecast native code to allow higher quality streams, this unit will become even better. One disappointing YouTube related item. At time of writing this review, Hangouts on Air (Live YouTube) streams are not supported. I have been unable to stream live events and shows on the Chromecast which I do hope they add support for later. It would be nice if the Netflix web UI allowed for queuing multiple episodes or shows to play one after another, but overall, the interface is clean and easy to navigate. For $35, this is a fantastic purchase. As websites add Chromecast code to allow native support, this dongle will become even more useful. I highly recommend it.

I have one TV with several video game consoles connected to it (and thus the ability to stream Netflix, HBO GO, etc.) on that TV, and I had another TV with nothing hooked up to it. Chromecast is the cheapest and easiest way that I can use streaming video services on that other TV. The fact that I got it on sale and got BB reward points just made it even sweeter.

Super-easy setup. I do not know about the new Chromecast 2, but this is working perfectly with my android and TV. My only complaint is that it does not accept VPN streaming (no way, so far, in my knowledge, to set up the Chromecast with a VPN). So, if you are abroad and want to watch a show via your favorite VPN, either you try to mirror your android screen or you have to give up.

Small device, easy to find info, good forr traveling, give you a lots of opportunities, you can see everything .

Cheap way to watch Netflix, Hulu, etc. on your TV. Easy to install and use from your smartphone. Love it.

Its very convenient and less bulky to just plug in a Flash drive sized chrome cast to your TV and enjoy fast wireless streaming from your chrome browser to TV instantly. The youtube app which supports chromecast is very handy as you can queue videos from your phone/tab/laptop and continue to do what you want to do with your device while the video plays seamlessly on your TV. Must Have!!!

This is my second Chromecast. I liked the first one so much I got a second one so I don't have to keep moving it from one TV to another. Set up is a breeze and once it's set up, connection is instantaneous. It works great from my PC, Chromebook, tablet and phone, you just have to find the right apps for it.

I bought this device the day it was announced and have been very pleased so far. I was lucky enough to get 3 months of Netflix for free also, which was a very short lived promotion. The device worked right away, I just had to configure my router to "accept new devices" Otherwise it was seamless. I watch a lot of YouTube videos, and this has made the watching experience SO much better. I cannot wait until HBO Go, ShowTime and Cinemax, amongst others start adding support for the device. Well worth the $35, and a great competitor to AppleTV. The only real downside so far is trying to use the Cast to TV button from the Google Chrome web browser. I have only tried it from one website so far, which was HBO GO.com, and it did cast to TV, but it was very out of sync, and had to buffer heavily. They did announce that the "cast to TV" feature from within the Google Chrome browser was still in beta testing, so I did not fully expect it to be up and running. That will be another great feature once they iron out those kinks. This will make a great gift for anyone that enjoys watching videos

this is a cheap alternative to Apple TV or buying a smart tv, you can stream easily from phone tablet or PC

Combined with my android device and this is all the entertainment I really need!
