Chromecast is so easy to use. I think it is a great and cheap option to get web video services on their TV.

I bought the Chromecast in order to add some smart functionality to my TV. With that said, I realized this would have some limitations over a traditional Smart TV or streaming box. So far, I can say that, for the most part, it works as advertised. Set up was a bit more complicated than expected due to the Chromecast not being compatible with all routers and needing certain settings for those it is compatible with. I was able to get it connected, but it's definitely not a task for those who've never set up their own routers. After that, it did need to do an initial update, but I was streaming away shortly thereafter. Using the Chromecast is pretty simple. Just hit the cast icon on your device, select your Chromecast, and it starts streaming soon after. As mentioned, it works as advertised, but with a few hiccups here and there. Every now and then it seems to freeze up and disappears on my network, requiring a restart to get it working again. Also, even with the HDMI extender, the WIFI antenna is pretty weak. There is noticeably more buffering on the Chromecast than if I just use my laptop or smart phone. Perhaps thats a product of sending the content from my device, through the router, and to the Chromecast. It's probably the biggest annoyance on an otherwise good product. Is it still worth it? For $35, definitely... That's a bargain and the few problems are minor in my book.

Easy Set-up, had it up and running in 10-15 minutes, streams Netflix no problem and can use internet on TV

Super easy to install and use on any TV with an available USB port. The pictures are somewhat deceiving at the device pictured needs to be powered so there is the inevitable power cord that must be connected. They provide an adapter so you can make the cord work in tight connections, for example if the TV is mounted and there is limited space coming out a 45 degree angle. Otherwise, just buy it and use the endless entertainment for the non-smart TV.

Easy to set up and use. Not as well rounded as a Roku, but works very well for casting from your computer.

The Chromecast mirrors your phone's display on your TV screen through a USB port.. Apps that support the Chromecast, e.g. HBO GO, Slingbox App are displayed in full HD. The disadvantage is that unlike the Roku you need to run everything through your smart phone. The Roku lets you run programs through it without using your phone. The greatest advantage of the Chromecast is that it lets you watch programs on a TV at a location remote from your home.

For the price, I was blown away by what this device achieves!...incredible, small,... essential! Buy this! =)

I bought this device because It was only $27.00, not knowing what the benefit would be. Before, I was watching using my Mac thru an HDMI converter/cable/switch, where some (older) movies would have video stutter and the black spaces above and below. This cures all that. It will mirror your computer or smart phone, or if you start the "casting" after you start your video, then, It's apparently from another source removing a lot of the commercials.

Chromecast is an inexpensive way to get casting options from your phone or tablet to your TV. It can be a little slow sometimes, depending on your internet connection. It's not the fastest processor on the market, either, but overall it does a decent job. Has some limited apps, such as Netflix, too.

Very easy to set up. Great value for money (I caught a sale too) and interfaces easily with my TV/wifi.

A great buy! better than buying a Hdmi to phone adapter chord, that can be more expensive than Chromecast. Love it, it casts from your tablet or phone. Made to mirror your screen from your device to the television. Had to read directions, Utubed how to use it at first, it does what its supposed to do, able to watch online movies or downloads. So glad I didn't buy a cable adapter!

Easy to set up and works flawlessly with Netflix and Hulu. A small price to pay for great connectivity.

One of my friends has recommended this product because of its portability and ability to cast your videos on the monitor. He mentioned that I won't get disappointed. I did bought chromecast and it was amazing. I can now watch Youtube and others on my monitor without having anyone tripped on my hdmi cable. Although it has a lot room from improvement like supporting other video sites and video players. I would definitely recommend this to a friend.

Got this at a nice price from Best Buy. Good streaming. Works great straight out of the box, no hazzles.

I would love to ditch my cable company! I tried this based on prior reviews and using Chromrcast at my daughter's home. Quick and easy to set up even for a tech illiterate like me. Inexpensive, super simple and easy to use with Hulu and Netflix, now if I could just figure out a way to also get HGTV for me and sports for my husband ... Well HGTV anyway!

Nice device on streaming viewable links from your laptop/tablet/smart phone to the TV. Small size and easy connection makes it easy to use at home or take for a trip. Some times takes a few attempts to connect. Long use may require reloading the page.
