Chromecast is an excellent choice for streaming from smartphone, computer or Chromebook. The picture is so much better than an hdmi cable, and once set up, works practically automatically when I look at a video on any of my wifi devices. Maybe the best $35 you can spend on video. Highly recommended!

For the price, this thing is incredibly well made! The features of it are just perfect for Netflix streaming from your phone! It comes with everything you need (Besides a cell phone/tablet). It even comes with an HDMI adapter that increases the WiFi range of it, and a wall base charger for the USB cable. *Make sure you are aware that this is useless without a tablet/smartphone. It is not a standalone unit, nor does it have a remote.

Supply is now catching up with demand. I was lucky enough to purchase my first one on the very first day they became available at Best Buy but had to wait over a month before I could find a second one in stock. At this price point, it's an excellent value, so I wanted a 2nd one for my bedroom TV. Extremely easy to set up and everything that it's supposed to do works great so far. I can cast tabs from my Chrome browser to my Chromecast and also Netflix, YouTube, Play Music and Play Movies & TV from my Android smartphone. I find casting to my Chromecast from my smartphone to be much more user friendly than using the UI on my smart Panasonic TV for watching Netflix and YouTube. I also like the ability to place YouTube videos in a queue for watching a series of videos. Hopefully, Google will expand its capabilities by adding many new apps and functionality in the future.

After hearing about the Chromecast for the past year, I decided to get one at Bestbuy for $29 and think it's one of the best pieces of technology that have been released in years! I think it's amazing that I'm able to stream Netflix via my phone, tablet or PC and on my PC I can stream ANY type of video/audio wirelessly to my TV. The chromecast makes HDMI cables relatively useless!

Even with an Xbox One that is normally being used I find myself using the Chromecast that is on the same TV instead. The ease of use on an Android phone is great. Many things that I normally might be looking at can be almost instantly cast on the TV rather than running on my phone. The phone is also not stuck on netflix, youtube, etc. while streaming ether which is a major plus. I heartily recommend Chromecast to any Android device user.

I didn't really understand what this was in the beginning. Now, I wouldn't be without it. If you subscribe to Netflix, Hulu or any other of these types of services this is a must if you do not have a smart TV or DVD player. If you want to display what is on you Smart Phone or Tablet there are apps that will take what is on these screens and put them on the TV. I have another older flat screen that I will be getting another one for.

Chromecast is small, hides perfectly behind TV. Gets all the main Apps, Netflix, Youtube, Hulu, but no Amazon. As I knew when researching, totally controlled with you smart phone or tablet, which I find to be a little awkward at times, and not always user friendly. Watched show using PBS app, found very hard to rewind, keep going back way too far or not far enough.

Easy access for Netflix etc and when not watching anything special the slide show pics are beautiful.

All TVs look good in the store, but I have purchased big name brands before and been disappointed when I got home. I friend of mine bought an Insignia and the picture was fantastic, so when the time came for me to get a new one, I wanted to try it out myself. I purchased a 40" HD for the bedroom. It has the clearest picture and brightest color of anything I've ever owned. It truly is the best buy at the best price ever! AWESOME!

We had Chromecast up and running in just a few minutes. Streaming is easy and the quality is great.

I cast a lot of movies from my S4 to the chromecast, initial setup take just a few minutes and then you're ready to go. I bought my first one almost a year ago, Best Buy had the chromecast on sale around Christmas 2014 for $24 so I bought another. Very inexpensive way to broadcast what you have on your phone/tablet to your TV. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because when you cast your homepage or pictures, it shows up as the same screen ratio as your phone and only uses the middle of the screen even on widescreen photos, not a big deal to me but would be a 5 star if more options to display different formats were available. I would definitely recommend the chromecast and have recommended it to many of my friends and co-workers. Great price. Great uses if you know how and like to cast stuff from your tablet/phone to your TV.

Overall, you can't beat what it does for the price! Easy to setup, but I have an issue with one laptop that runs VMWare (for work). Once setup, it's pretty smooth. The picture at times can be pixelated, but I believe that is due to my wireless setup which is dated. I am planning to upgrade my wireless router, so I think that the quality issue should go away afterwards (writing my review based on current experience). It is limited to what apps can directly stream from it when using an iPhone/iPad (which is what I have), but everything works great when streaming it from Chrome from a supported laptop. Must have the latest Chrome browser and Java updates to make it work right. We don't have cable, so this makes life very convenient when watching internet based media! Formats well with widescreen (which is the resolution for most laptops and TVs these days).

this is a great product that does what you expect. the setup is very easy and it does what is advertised. as time goes on, it will only be able to do more as more content providers get on board. if you know what you are getting, there is no reason not to buy this for the price.

NO NEED for a "smart" TV you're smart enough! I've got one on every TV in the house... we can easily cast content to any screen, and more from apps. Cool features include things like screen mirroring so that what is on your phone/tablet/laptop will appear on your TV. We store movies and music on a network hard drive which the Chomecast can access though apps from the Play store. The list could go on and on... Get this device now!

I have purchased several of the "crafty little devices" and have found them quite amazing for the price. The Chrome Cast gives you great opportunity to view several programs on a large screen HDMI TV in a few easy steps. All you need is internet and off you go. I highly recommend the Chrome Cast to everyone. It works off of a platform and brings streaming movies, pictures or even your entire Android device to view on a large screen TV
