I was a little skeptical until a friend got one and was thrilled with it. Set up was a snap. It has worked flawlessly. Previously, watching Netflix through the app on my Sony Bravia smart TV was a royal pain in the butt - it would take forever to load and then would frequently freeze and have to reload. Casting from my desktop, iPad, or Android phone on the other hand is a breeze. It loads quickly and there are no stalls. I don't know if it's my imagination but I think the HD picture quality is better too. Being able to control Netflix or Youtube with my phone or iPad is uber convenient. Watching these as well as web pages (casting from desktop only at present)I on the big screen is wonderful. I already feel that this device is indispensable and it will only become more so as more apps become available. I also hope that the iPad as well as the Android Chrome browser becomes Chromecast enabled ASAP. Best 35 bucks I've spent in a long time.

Works as described very little learning curve. Nice price too

The only drawback (and this is only for some) is that you don't have a remote control. You download the app channels onto your phone and stream the image onto the screen. It looks and works perfect. But if your phone is low on battery or dies or you lose it, you're stuck without a remote. But it's super easy to use and convenient. I always have my ph with me. Keep a charger next to the couch just I case!

Chromecast is similar to Roku but different. The Roku has their apps on their sticks and you can access via that apps. The chromecast will "cast" apps that are on your tablet and phones (works with apple and android systems) to your tv. With that said, I was initally leary with it but ended up being suprised with it. Chromecast cast function basically loads a cast button to your popular video apps and you can cast that to your tv. You will hit the cast button first and then enable to video to view it on tv. Which did take a little to get use to depending on the app (found I wanted to start netflix video instead of hitting the cast button first). A benefit is the cast function that can be done on the Chrome browser and it will cast your browser to your tv which is a cool function ( as well as a different option if you do not have a tablet). I found for CBS app that the Big Brother live stream does not work with the cast unless you got a companion app from the android/apple app store so that you can cast from your web browser as browser cast on tablets are not very functional without a companion app. I came in expecting a 3 but I would give it a 4.5 or even status with Roku)

Price was great. Easy to set up and install. Downloads quickly and provides sharp picture.

My daughter urged me to buy this for almost 2 yrs. I thought it would be hard to set up, plus I didn't have another hdmi slot. Then I found out how to get another hdmi slot($7.00 piece) then finally bought it. Quick and easy. I couldn't believe the vast library that was brought to my tv through my laptop,iPad and iPhone. Android and iOS devices. If you enjoy telling the TV what to show buy Chromcast.

This is a great device especially if you have multiple wireless devices around the house and you would periodically want to stream to a TV or say show someone in your household what you are checking out on say HULU or Netflix. Also for only $30, it is quite an unbeatable price. I would definitely say for all people who use streaming services and have androids, get the Chromecast, it is worth your money.

This works well and lets me watch youtube and other streaming websites on my TV. The only issue is that when I switch to the HDMI port, it takes a minute to connect? Not sure what its doing but it flickers in and out and takes up to minute sometimes before it connects to chromecast. But when it gets going it works great! Could be the tv.

I bought this to add a new dimension to my TV watching and I didn't want to buy a smart TV yet. The set-up was relatively easy through my iPad and smartphone and took less than 10 minutes. I have been greatly pleased with the apps that it has available so far and just hoping Google picks up the pace and adds more over time. For someone who just wants the basics and not pay too much, it's a great media player!

Definitely very easy to set up. Anybody can do it! Also, streams very well wirelessly with great quality video (depending on the connection of course). One complaint is that I figured you could stream your browser (if using chrome) to the tv but that is only in beta testing and doesn't work smoothly. Basically, the idea is you have to use the applications that are compatible with chromecast such as Netflix, HuluPlus, etc. I returned it because I wanted to stream the browser wirelessly and since that didn't work the best I found no reason to have it. I think it works perfectly as advertised though, and I just overlooked that.

Love the Google Chromecast. Was very easy to setup and use. The movies look wonderful.

My mom has a few favorite tv shows she likes to watch on netflix and has wanted to be able to share them with my dad but they only have one small laptop and no smart TV. This was an easy to set up solution that brought not only Netflix, but anything my mom would find on the web from a single user experience to something she could share with my dad on the bigger screen. Fantastic product, easy to use.

I can't believe I did not buy this product sooner. I use this to stream from my HP laptop, Dell laptop and Android phone. I stream YouTube and Amazon Prime movies. I love that I can finally see all my pictures on my phone on a big screen TV. It was super easy to setup. Also, although I purchased this from Best Buy they priced matched it to a lower price that was at Walmart. I saved almost $8.

Chrome Case is an excellent option to turn your dumb tv to into a smart tv. The export of chrome browser is flawless, The YouTube export to Chrome cast is also good. But falls short while trying to play music using Google play music as my side loaded songs are not being allowed to play, can only play purchased media. Google Play Video again plays only videos purchased in play store (which i have never done). Havent tried the netflix yet. But the video quality and sound quality are good and i don't see any loss youtube's 720P videos are crisp. A bit lag does exist between browser & the chromecast. Wish more apps are loaded and bring in a feature to play video from local devices in chromecast would have been great and completed the device.

This is my second Chromecast. Very easy to set up, have it on my main tv for watching Netflix, also anything else I want to cast from my computer. Liked it so much purchasing this one to take with me when I travel so I can have my favorites available anywhere.

I bought this product for my girl friend so we can watch movies from netflix on her old school TV. A more affordable alternative to getting a smart TV. The Google - Chromecast HDMI Streaming Media Player turns an old school TV to a smart TV. An Awesome Device worth buying!

This is a fantastic device. Easy to use and set up won't leave home with out it. Travel a lot and when staying in motel I use to channel surf looking for something to watch. Now I just plug this in to the TV and with my smart phone log into my movie account and watch shows that I really enjoy watching. Best thing since microwave popcorn. My greatest fear is I could forget it in a motel. Never happen!

Chromecast works great, it's compact so can travel with and the price is just perfect.
