I originally got this because I didn't have any online devices hooked up to my office tv, and I got tired of my girlfriend complaining about her missing roku. 4/5 because as awesome and easy to use as it is, some of the features are still in beta and may crash or become unresponsive occasionally (esp. with smartphones).

Yes it is working good either with my laptop or smartphone, all of them has to use the same wireless modem/router, I would give 5 stars if only Google allow more applications to run on Chromecast , beacause most of them are pay-apps to use, So far is working good with Youtube and from my laptop if I am using CHROME browser,

Chromecast is a really awesome tool when it comes to making your regular TV a smart TV. Also, it has some really cool uses especially if you don't have another media platform like a DVD player or video game system. You can play Netflix and Hulu or any compatible app from the Google Play Store or ios app Store . I would recommend for everyone on ios, android, and windows systems.

Just before Christmas I was in Best Buy and came across the Chromecast display. I took a leap of faith and immediately bought two, one for my living room and one for a bedroom TV. This dongle works exactly as advertized. I use my phone, tablet, and even my laptop to stream video and music content to the TV. Not only can you use it with YouTube, Netflix, and Pandora, but it also works seamlessly with Google Chrome. I understand Google is adding more features and services all the time as this is still a new concept/product. I recommend purchasing Chromecast for every TV in your home.

Google Chromecast is the most cost effective way to turn your tv into a smart tv. This is a must for any Android smartphone owner. Cast photos and videos from your phone, tablet or laptop via Chrome extension toy our tv for a bigger viewing experience. Playback is fast with the only noticeable lag coming from the laptop. phone and tablet stream flawlessly. Makes a great gift too.

Portable and streams almost anything. It's great and convenient and easy to use.

I don't really use the Chromecast for viewing streaming video. My Roku is much better at that. It's nice to be able to cast the screen from my laptop and phone easily, and in my mind, this is my current use case for the Chromecast. Due to the openness to developers, I'm hoping to see more unique functionality in the future.

Easy to setup and use. Good price and lots of options for what you can watch.

It takes some setup, i.e. downloading the app and then you can use your iPhone to "cast" to the device. I have used Netflix, HBO Go and Watch ESPN apps successfully. I was hoping to take the device on vacation and use it. I couldn't figure out how to change the wireless network and Chromecast name for it to work elsewhere.

Easy to setup and user-friendly. You have to use a tablet or computer to control what you see on TV. Once you have eligible program on your tablet, then all you have to do is hit the chromecast icon and it shows up on your tv. All YouTube pics are available which is nice. Also when not in use, and left on, it has beautiful screen saver pictures that change every few minutes.

The chrome dongle works great. We've been enjoying Netflix and YouTube. Apps are fairly limited at this point, but the list seems to be growing. I'd give it 5 stars if there were more apps. Definitely great value.

I have an apple TV and now chromecast. There are some things better on the chromecast, like the esay set up, and that you can use your PC, ipad, ipod, iphone, and android device with it so easy. One of the main difference, is that while the apple tv needs your device to continue playing, chromecast doesn"t, and you can torn off the device, and the chromecast will still play the video.

It's simple practical, and does the trick. Low cost

I found the Chromecast a bit tricky to setup, but once I got it working, it generally works pretty well. I can broadcast to it from my PC or my tablet once I got it installed. When everything is working well, the streams are really good quality. For reference, I'm on Comcast cable and use a Cisco wireless router.

Well worth the price. Turns HDTV into smart HDTV at very little investment.

I love my chromecast ; its easy to use and for the price you cant beat it!
