I live in the caribbean and as such I don't get access to the US Netflix using the built in Netflix app on my other smart t.v. I've hooked up the ChromeCast to an older LED T.V and with the use of an I.P masker I'm able to enjoy streaming the U.S version of Netflix while i using my laptop oh phone independently after I've began the streaming. I highly recommend this device.

I was a little skeptical, but this little dongle works far better that I thought it would. Netflix comes in crystal clear, Youtube also works great. They just opened Chromecast up to all developers, so I expect in the coming months the available apps will explode. The interface takes a little getting used to because you essentially queue videos from your phone or computer, but now that I'm used to it, I actually like it better. However, this does make it a little cumbersome in a home theater setting where multiple people would like to watch and control the movie. The actual Chromecast feature in which you cast your browser onto the screen works ok, but not great, especially in the home theater setting with a large HDTV. Despite it's faults, I'm thinking about getting one for every TV in the house. The cheap price let's your do this without breaking the bank.

Comes in handy for streaming content to the TV as advertised. Easy to set up even on a non-smart-tv. Works wonderful with both my android phone/tablet and Laptop (with chrome plugins). Today I streamed a live webcast to the tv, the day before I watched a Netflix series, I've watched movies on it with "Disney Movies Anywhere" and "Google Play Movies" in addition to Netflix.

Best thing about this device is the affordability! Easy to set up as well!

I honestly hadn't watched TV for about two years due to busy work schedule and I do not like watching it on my tiny computer screen. Even with the HDMI cable I thought it was to much of a hassle. Then a friend introduced me to Chromecast. I love how I control everything from my phone. I select my Chromecast on my phone and once I push play, it even turns on the TV for me.

Works really well.....Quick set up easy to use...great picture and audio.

Lots of people are going to tell you that it only works with Youtube or something stupid like that. Those are the people that are afraid to try other apps to stream with. Download AllCast and your can stream any video on your phone or tablet right to your TV. BTW, the free version has a little box on it that asks you to purchase to remove. But it doesn't get in the way...

I bought this specifically to view my personal videos that I store on my Samsung Galaxy Tab S on my TV. By adding the File Explorer Chromecast extension from the app store it works perfectly. I then discovered that adding the Chromcast app to my Motorola phone & the Chromcast Google Chrome plugin to my PC that I could cast from both those devices to my TV. Easy as pie.

My chrome crast is a very nice, I really enjoy using it, it is fast and it really helps sometime you just can't find things on YouTube and you can find it on google. But I have one comment about it; it sometime just disconnect and we had to turn off the wifi and than turn it on again and than connects again. Thanks

Chrome Cast was easy to set up via the mobile app (though the desktop plug in took a little more effort). It's not a stand alone video player, and the app or phone needs to support it, but it's a good, cheap way to add the ability to stream webpages from a chrome browser, or play video or music front supported app.

Best Streaming Device and its in expensive! Would Recommend to Everyone!

First, this device is not user friendly and I wouldn't suggest it for people that aren't tech savvy. I consider myself a bit of a techy and I personally found the interface and process of establishing a connection to be slightly confusion. Also, I didn't know when I bought this, but it is just for mirroring an image from one device to another. For some reason I thought this was an actual streaming stick, but it just mirrors another device and in turn is useless unless you have a compatible phone, tablet or PC. I have all three, but even then I failed to see why I needed this device. I also have an Amazon Firestick and I love that product, easy to use, supports gaming and streaming natively, just plug and play. I would personally only buy the Chromecast if you wanted to share personal videos and pictures from your phone/tablet onto your TV screen for easy viewing.

This device is exceptional! Takes up very little space compared to other streaming devices. It can use the TV's USB ports for power, so you don't have to plug it into an outlet. Only wish the desktop streaming capability could utilize dual screen better. But I think that is more a Google Chrome software issue than this device. Overall, very happy with this purchase!

This has some limitations. You don't just get a wireless connection to a monitor. For viewing videos, it work well. I have used it with both YouTube and Netflix without any issues. I have connected to it with my Windows PC, iPhone and Android tablet. If you are using a web browser, you have to use chrome.

I was told about this from a computer tech, and this is the greatest invention since sliced bread. This purchase is my second one. Easy setup - plug into HDMI, plug into USB or AC adaptor, download the App, enter your Wi-fi password, and voila, watching Hulu - Netflix - Pandora - YouTube, etc, on your television. I thought this was going to be an extension of my smartphone or tablet screen where I could broadcast my screen, but it isn't; it is more like a smart device that is authorized and controlled by the smartphone. But I still love it. I take it on trips to watch TV in our hotel room. Most of what I watch is Netflix streaming from my list/queue. When not in use, it has a slideshow of beautiful images displayed. I just saw that Roku has now released a version of its own, but no idea how they compare. I highly recommend this Chromecast.

love being able to watch shows & movies when I want to... the choice of sources- netflix, hulu, etc. is great. I have been using the system for tv, but now have started to use it on my smart phone. that means i can watch where i want to as well.

Whether you're using this to show off some images to your family, watch youtube videos, or pipe music into your television speakers, this little device is a dream to install and use. It's extremely simple to operate, and it makes getting media onto your "dumb" tv much easier. I cant recommend this enough, its really a great accessory for your television setup.

This device was easy to hook up and works great with all my devices. I am very pleased with this economical purchase, and am thrilled to be saving $ by not having cable anymore. Definitely worth checking out - especially for the price.

Chromecast is a great and very inexpensive tool for streaming things from a computer or tablet to your TV. It takes no time at all to setup and many aps and programs are compatible with it. When our Vizio TV starts goofing up with Netlflix or HULU we just connect the Chromecast and stream from a tablet. Regularly we have the Chromecast plugged into the back of our receiver so we can stream Pandora to it from our phones. My only complaint with it is you cannot screen mirror the browser on tablets (at least not yet) and the screen mirroring from Chrome on a computer was a little glitchy. I definitely recommend picking one up because they are only like $35 and it is very portable for traveling and using at hotels.
