I bought this product without much research about it and it works great for my purposes. the set up was extremely easy on my hdtv. a few clicks and it was up and running. for what this does for the price it cant be beat. I've seen reviews that state it is hard to setup and I don't understand why. a 5 yr. old could do it. more apps will be available soon for chromecast. a very good product and very inexpensive.

This tiny piece of electronics has made my life immensely simple. I travel quite a bit and am now able to stream whatever I have on my phone, laptop, tablet, etc to anything with an HDMI port. The only issue I've found with it as of yet is if you are somewhere with a lousy internet/router you'll feel it - but it is not a design flaw, just an observation.

The price is great. At $35 the price is unbeatable. The set up is easy, and using from multiple phones and computers is a great addition. The lack of apps to begin with is kind of a shame. After a few months this shouldn't be a problem.

Bought the Chromecast when we bought a TV for a bedroom. I wasn't sure how much we would use it but at $35 I figured "Why not". We've found that we use it frequently. Playing Youtube Videos for our kids, playing music in the background, watching Hulu+, etc. Yes the number of compatible apps are limited at this time; but the device has strong potential. The setup process is very simple and it will automatically update itself when needed. Best of all, your phone or tablet becomes a remote saving battery as the device streams directly from the source. In the end, I'm happy I picked up one and looking forward to what developers will do now that Google has released the SDK for it.

The chromecast is awesome. simple to use and setup was a breeze

I debated for sometime between the various products before deciding on the chromecast. Overall it met my needs and was the lowest cost. While Firestick and Roku both have competitive features chromecast seemed the best. Set up was incredible easy and I frequently reset it up as I travel a lot so have to connect to different wireless networks.

Will this allow you to fly to the moon? Will this allow you to stream every single television show in the world? No. Will this allow you to take content from places like Netflix and watch them on a television from your phone or tablet? Yes. If you want more than that then spend more money.

Don't hesitate getting one, I bought it with NO need at all and thought I would end up giving it away as a gift but read my story, friends, it will serve you very well: One day I had to travel aboard, staying the night on a house with my girlfriend: high speed Wi-Fi but no computers, only our cellphones and this bad boy. In 5 minutes, I was able to install the Google Chromecast app and just BANG! I turned the 40" inch No-Smart HDMI TV into a 'Netflix & Chill' situation. (Yes, as you read it!) With that in mind, I was able to determinate the best usage for this device: If there is good Wi-Fi and you have this along, you're ready to travel to the most boring Family Trip ever, dine at hell and return to the land of the living without a boredom scar pictured on your family photos. Your mom will love it. Your grandmother will love it. Your girlfriend will love it (a lot). You will love 'Netflix & Chill' more than ever ;)

Since I have a Smartphone and tablet, this was the perfect (and cheap) choice for me. Everything streams well, except for tab casting from my tablet (it may be my tablet's fault it is slower and kind of a jerky video stream). I just wish it would support Amazon Prime Video and ATT Uverse apps!

Great product. If you use google chrome then most webpages can be streamed from your desktop/laptop to your TV easily. However, there are some flaws. If the program opens a separate full screen mode (eg slingbox) it will not stream that. Also, not a lot of programs work with it yet (e.g. you can't stream DVDs with it yet). If you use with an iPad then you can only use apps that work with chromecast, such as YouTube or Netflix. However, google keeps announcing more and more support from various other developers, such as real player cloud.

This has nothing to do with the performance of the product, but I guess I didn't realize that the chromecast needed a power cord. I just assumed it plugged into the hdmi port and we were ready to go. I guess I should have thought about where it gets its power from to communicate with my wifi.

I have 2 of these. One for my bedroom and one for my spare bedroom. I love how easy it is to set up and use. I have brought it to my school to use for my students when I would like to show a video. Its easy to connect via a USB hub and etc. Great for teachers. TED and YouTube very beneficial.

Easy to cast the computer screen to my big LED TV! Easy setup!

The set up is easy and straight forward, takes minutes to get completed. Over the air updates from Google have already allowed mirroring your android divice onto the tv and the app comparability list is growing. For $35 this thing is a much better bargan than the Apple TV, or Amoazons version. It doesn't do as much as the two, but it offers what most people need or would use the later two for. I play netflix, hulu, spotify, pandora, etc etc. Google is giving everyone else a run for their money, and they're doing it right.

I love my Chromecasts (we have 4 of them in our house), and I use them all the time. My only complaint has to do with occasional lag issues when switching from one medium to another. If you use your Android device for media playback of any sort, Chromecast is a fantastically affordable way to broadcast it through your home entertainment system.

It works great for some of the apps on my iPad but not all. You can also go to websites to watch videos via the Chromecast app so that's a bonus. I just wished it worked with all of my network apps. It is saving me on my monthly cable bill by having one less box to pay for so I am happy.

Easy to install, streams well, solidly built. No complaints.

My brother convinced me to buy a Chromecast because he absolutely loved his. I watch a lot of things on Netflix and figured this would make watching it on the big screen better. Set up was easy and fast. I found no trouble casting with Pandora, YouTube or Vevo, but I always get an error message saying that it cannot play the video at this time when attempting to cast Netflix. My brother has no issues with his Chromecast; I think the issue has something to do with updated software since he has not updated his Chromcast software yet. Aside from this issue I really like it; however, this issue almost defeats the purpose of buying it in the first place.
