This is an awesome product. We got it on sale. It makes it incredibly easy to control Netflix from your phone. Also we are signed into our cable through phone so we can cast HBO and showtime. Chrome cast just needs to add more stations. This is a great gift.

I got this for my dad, who is not the most tech savvy of people (aka not at all) , because he was looking for an easy to use product to get his tv a little more on the smart side. This was incredibly easy to set up and show him how to use and it has provided everything he was looking for for a fair price.

The thing I love about the chrome caste is it is soo easy to set up, and instantly it make a normal LED/LCD to a smart TV. You can share content (youtube, netflix..etc)from your smart phone or tablet to the TV. I was soo impressed by this, I have bought 3 of them and gifted to my friends and family.

I have bought 4 of these devices now, including one for use at work. I am really impressed with how easy they are to set up and use for streaming from all of my devices including streaming from a Chrome web browser tab (which is what I use it for at work). Being a programmer, I do wish there was more I could do with it besides just streaming media and browser tabs, but what it does do, it does really well. Worth the cost in my opinion. Hopefully in the future they will have more options for developers. I would definitely recommend this to friends looking for a media streaming solution though.

If you own an Android phone and don't have a smart TV or set-top box, you NEED a Chromecast. Even if you have a smart TV or a set-top box, you should pick one up. It's cheap and makes buying into Google's ecosystem of products and services much more useful by putting them onto the biggest screen in your house.

I researched the chromecast as a way to add some of the features that smart tv's have to an older TV that wasn't a smart tv. We currently have a smart tv in our bedroom and I can't stand trying to use the remote to search for Netflix and youtube titles. Now with chromecast I can control apps like youtube, Netflix and my music library from my iPad and it plays right in the TV. For $35 it was worth the purchase. Also, other users can log onto your chromecast so it is cool if you want to listen to someone else's music library. Lastly, I am a football coach and chromecast allows me to watch scouting film on the TV using my iPad. Chromecast is easy to set up and has a small simple design.

Quite frankly, I consider the Google Chromecast a replacement for an HDMI cable ... no more cable between labtop & TV! It works well (though, ocassionally, buffering seems a bit long). All in all, I think it is a solid device to have as an option to stream.

I've heard Google will stop selling/ supporting these soon, but actually I don't think it'll really matters much. THere's not much to this device, other than a way to connect your phone or computer to your HDtv. It plugs into your HDMI slot (hopefully you have an available slot), but also requires power from a usb/ power cord- I found this midly inconvenient. Fortunately, I just used an open usb port from cable box or sony. You can use your wall plug adapter like from a phone or whatever if you have an ac outlet nearby- very nearby. It offers apps for the common choices like hulu, netflix... and some other various ones. Where I see the real obvious value is the phone apps/ pc programs that offer Chromecast support. Anyhow, for $35 you get the ability to very easily connect your phone video (among other)...to your giant hdtv and that's all anyone really cares about anyway.

I was able to setup the Chromecast with my new Samsung TV and Plex Media Server quite easily. Movies were streaming within minutes. I have another room with an older DVI TV connected via a HDMI Onkyo receiver. Unfortunately, the Chromecast will not connect to the Onkyo. It starts but the signal will not make it via the HDMI/DVI cable to the TV. I called Onkyo and it has something to do with the "handshake" but they don't support this configuration and neither does Google. The lack of Amazon Prime almost killed the deal for me, but since Plex works fine, I'm going to keep it on the newer TV.

I have 2 chromecasts and I love em. I also have other streaming devices like a roku and at one point an appletv amongst others. The chromecast is the simplest and most direct solution for me. Especially if you make use of Plex. I can just sit on my couch, queue up a show or movie with my phone and enjoy.

I bought this after I setup my brother in laws home network he got rid of cable and now he uses this. I then went out and bought it so that way I can also get rid of cable and save money I love how I can use my cellphone and laptop to control what I show on my TV using Chromecast best decision I ever did

Like the Chromecast and originally it did not have enough apps. The apps seem to be exploding now as every time I log in to check a new one appears. Wish I could just chromecast everything to my TV and hope that eventually happens. Only bad thing about it.

I really like the item and the price but only wish I could have gotten it to work with my Kindle HDX 8.9 which is what I was really hoping to use it with. But it works great with my Notebook Computer with windows 7 and even showed my facebook on the TV screen.

I like that it was simple to setup and configure. I tested casting from a windows 8 laptop, android and iphones, android tablet, and my windows 7 desktop pc. Chromecast plugin was easy to install and casting from all around the house was easy. I especially like on my Sony Bravia how it turns the tv on and changes to the hdmi input whenever I cast anything. So far there is a limited number of apps but it is growning and software is still in beta. Movies on harddrive can be cast but it takes some fandangling. I do recommend this though as it is great for the price to turn a tv into a wifi tv.

I picked this up after reading some reviews and thought it would be an interesting thing to have around the house as I'm always sharing or watching youtube videos for educational purposes. Hooked it up in a few minutes and was surprised at the quality of the videos, I actually thought they would be worse for some reason blowing up a youtube video on my large tv. Now it is super easy for me to pop up videos I want to show friends, tutorials I want to watch for anything I'm doing around the house I can put it up my TVs around the house. Pretty convenient but not a necessary item for everyone

After finding that my smart TV could not update so that I could watch the live stream program I wanted I decided to purchase the Chromecast dongle. Very simple to install and use. I liked it so well I bought three more for our less than smart TVs and plan to purchase one for my father for Fathers Day!

The ChromeCast is great for streaming media from your laptop to your TV. It did take me a little while to get it setup (they make it look easier in the instructions than it really is). Other than that, after I got it setup and running, it works good.

Really enjoy being able to watch whatever movie or website I am streaming from on the big screen instead of being limited to my tablet or laptop! This gadget has also saved me 175% more in entertainment by not being sucked into the cable/satellite traps!

I got the chrome cast for fathers day and it has been great. It was easy to set up with the TV and very easy to use with my iPad and netflix. Overall I would recommend this product for anyone wanting to stream media from a portable device to your TV.

Was looking for something that I could watch movies and such from my phone or PC and I found it!! Chromecast is easy as pie to install and works in just 10 minutes. I was so impressed that I went and bought one for my girlfriends second TV, she already had one and is pleased with hers as well!!
