If you have a Netflix account and a smartphone, this is perfect...assuming all you want to do is watch Netflix and YouTube. The size and shape is great, especially if you have a wall mounted tv, because there is no box with wires like a Roku. That being said, I have a Roku and there are many more options for apps. Hopefully google will add some apps at some point. Overall, if you have Netflix and like YouTube this device is great

Moved to Chromecast for bedroom TV. Long time user and fan of Roku. Chromecast has no apps stored in it like Roku so everything has to be streamed from your phone. Not bad, actually. And the speed and picture is excellent.

I absolutely love this thing. I use it to stream my phone to my tv and watch movies conveniently. I also take it anywhere I go as well. Couldn't be any easier to use and enjoy. Also, I got it for a great price where other stores wanted more. Best Buy is the greatest.

Not sure if you have seen the reviews for the app in the Apple Store, but they are wrong. This worked great. Took me a grand total of 5 minutes or so to hook it up, get the apps and updates, and then get "How to Train Your Dragon" on screen with Netflix. So very easy!!

Very easy to setup as long as you follow instructions. Had a few stuttering issues casting from my older macbook, but using other devices (ipad) seems to work great. I am hoping to update all my tv's and get rid of satellite and its high costs and go directly to streaming.

Though I already own a smart TV (Panasonic plasma) I couldn't pass up this little gizmo at $35. It's a slick little device that sets up easily and quickly. If you're using the supported apps it works great. What's not so great, experience-wise, is casting video content from the Chrome browser. In that situation you're consuming network bandwidth getting content TO the hosting/casting device and then consuming network bandwidth getting that content FROM that device to the Chromecast device. Hopefully more apps (especially sports, for me) will support Chromecast in the future which will eliminate this bandwidth "double-dipping".

I was hoping for a way to mirror my mac screen. This does streaming video much as any other unit of this type. The mirroring works on some applications, though, not very many. This is a good way to get streaming video for $35.

Over all I like this product. Price is reasonable. Very easy setup. Only shortcoming is that it currently broadcasts only YouTube and NetFlix.

I prefer using Chromecast over the smart TV functions since I can control from my phone and easier to use. This a a must for anyone with a smart phone. If you get a hulu and netflix subscription,you could cut the cord to your cable company and still be able to use your tv

I absolutely love my Chromecast. Just plug it into your HDMI plug in the back of your TV and you're good to go!! Super easy to set up and use. Happy Streaming!!!!!

Very easy to setup for use with ipad, under 5 mins to setup. I primarily purchased so we could watch Netflix from my ipad mini on it. It needs to be charged by USB, which luckily on our Sony Bravia is right next to the HDMI ports. Otherwise you'll have to plug it in to charge.

I heard about Chromecast from a friend and was somewhat skeptical about it, but the price was right, so I bought it to give it a try. I love it! Just plug it in, pair it and select what you want to watch! Was watching a movie in less than 5 minutes of opening the package!

With the Google Chromecast, you'll never have to be at the mercy of expensive programming packages again. You can stream content from YouTube, Google Play, NetFlix and many other sources, right to your television. No straining to see / share programs on your computer or tablet or smart phone. Best of all, it is portable! Move it from room to room, OR take it with you on vacation. It can plug into hotel TV's and stream content from their wi-fi. Why don't you have one already?! They're only $35 or so!

Add Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, You tube, etc etc to any HDTV or Projector with an HDMI port - even turn send your slides to the TV wirelessly with Google DOCS. Or, do what I did and add a $8 adaptor and turn any stereo into a music casting device from a smartphone.

Easy setup, log on and working in a matter of minutes. This is a great invention! Downloaded apps for laptop and smartphone and away we went! Everything promised in product literature was delivered. Highly recommended to turn an older flat screen tv into a smart tv.

This is the 2nd chromecast I have, of course both still in use. Very easy and love that fact it is compatible with many apps and devices. Works with Windows, iOS and Android. Use it all the time for mainly Netflix and Youtube.

It is amazing the uses for it. Easy to setup and used from a computer, phone or tablet. And with updates more options keep getting added.

Cons: Initially I had set up issues using with my Mac...then it wasn't clear how to set up a second, 3rd, 4th "casting devise" (iPhone). Pros & Cons: When I started off using my Mac I had to figure out it only worked after downloading google Chrome browser (not Firefox or Safari), then downloading an extra google plug in... After that I encountered duplicate wifi signal issues and it would freeze or delay lag. So I purchased a wifi transmitter that connects to my in home wifi in which the chromecast pulls a signal from instead of directly from the home wifi unit..and I now only cast from my iPhone apps - no issues since. The learning curve sucks but after you get the hang of it - you'll enjoy it atleast using your phone as remote control. I've purchased 2 so far.

This is an inexpensive option to stream and view content beyond the usual broadcast fare. We've never been cable subscribers, but it is nice to have the ability to cast content from the Chrome browser, or rent a full length film on occasion. The setup is very intuitive.

works great. i used to watch movies and service on sundays from my phone and now i can sit back and relax on the couch and watch on the big screen! its very simple. literally plug it in a follow the few steps.
