the google cast is a really great tool i wish it had more apps that it worked with is the only con to this.

Finally got the Chromecast and its a great little device it does everything I want it to from streaming Netflix to watching movies on Vudu.

This is the future. It works with Android, Windows even if it's not your PC/TV/Smartphone/Tablet. All you need is your login credentials and you can watch your Netflix/Music/Movies/Photos on anybody's home. You can leave your friends house with your phone without interrupting the movie.

Chromecast is wonderful!!! It's easy to set up and you can stream from an Android phone, tablet, or any pc/mac with a Chrome tab. I hear iOS users will soon get support but if you love iOS you should probably get an Apple TV. If you're part of the Google ecosystem, this is a must-have!!!

My intention was to project my laptop onto my tv because I get the white screen on occasion and eliminate the use of my hd cord.. I later learned after purchasing that this only used for playing movies, music and sharing photos.... However, I get plenty of good use out of it from watching Netflix - pretty much stayed holed up in my house on the weekends for a month watching One Tree Hill so I got my money's worth of it. The set up was easy, had a bit of a problem getting it to work initialy, but after researching online I just had to reset it and start over, then it worked. Rhapsody streaming from my iphone, has a very bad lag time when I change the song, I don't know what the deal is with that, so I didn't bother pursuing an online search for a solution, no big deal. If you are a basic usrer like myself for Netflix and/or hulu, it is worth paying the $35.00 vs. $100.00 for more sophisticated streamers. as far as Netflix, it works perfectly.

Great way to hook up your browser's content directly to your TV without using HDMI/hardwire. Streamed video from browser; was initially slow but eventually buffered to good quality. Very easy to connect YouTube from iPhone or Nexus tablet. Easy set up (only took a five minutes) and very simple to switch between devices utilizing the Chromecast connection.

Now I have more useful use for my iPad and my phones, fast easy to set up great product.

nifty little product....very easy to set up. Up and running in a couple of min. Couple of things to consider: - the casting directly from Chrome is not intuitive. I had to go to the Chromecast support site to realize that i need to download the Chrome Extension. - The box says its recommended to plug it in rather than using the USB for power but unfortunately the power cable is not lengthy enough. So probably you will end up going the USB way just like i did.

This is an amazing product, it converts any tv into a smart tv. I use it with Netflix and it is amazing how you can just transfer a youtube video you are watching on your phone or tablet to play on your tv, it is seamless. Always a fan of Google this is a must, it is better than roku, amazon fire stick or anything I have used before.

Do yourself a favor and stay away from the Chromecast and go with a Amazon Fire TV stick or Roku stick. The Chromecast is an excellent idea but it has one fatal flaw... software. iOS updates & app updates often leave unusable or unstable builds. Currently as we speak my Starz app keeps crashing when I go to cast. My solution was to switch to my Fire TV stick... Loaded right up like it does every time. I purchased the Chromecast which had one main benefit... it supported apps that weren't yet cleared by Xfinity for use on Fire TV. Well now most of those apps have been cleared so I have no further use for the Chromecast. Its not the fault of the Chromecast unit itself, it is the fatal flaw in leaving it up to the 3rd party software companies.

I got Chromecast about a year ago and love it. Only reason it doesn't get a 5 star is that it can't screen mirror iPad but I also have a Nexus 5 and it screencasts just fine. That said, its compatible with just about all of your streaming apps on iOS. I have a smart TV but the controls and menus are really clunky. Chromecast basically turns your smart device into your TV controller. Navigation, control, and searching are so much better. With screencasting on Android 5.0 devices, we have been able to truly cut the cable cord since we have subscriptions to streaming services and have downloaded the networks apps. And at $35 or less ,depending on the sale, you can't beat the price for what you get out of it. Very simple to setup. Plug it in, follow prompts to set up on WiFi, download Chromecast app on your phone/tablet, and click the Chromecast button that appears on whatever app you want to stream from. It takes 5 minutes to setup and begin streaming.

Easy way to smarten up a non 'smart' TV and do much more with android, ios or windows devices.

Its really amazing and you can browse for what to watch and works great with my android phone.

Google's new Chromecast dongle does everything I need it to do and is a great value at $35! It can stream anything you see on your Chrome browser (video, music, websites, etc) and can call in Youtube or Netflix videos via your Android device or iOS device. I hope they add more apps in the future to enable local streaming and more content.

The device out of the box comes with everything you need: Small HDMI extension cable, USB power Adapter USB cable, Chromecast Device. I setup the device with my Android phone and it was up and running in a minute or so. The device is very limited on what you can cast to it. ATM you can cast YouTube, Netflix, and with a plugin on Chrome Browser you can stream anything you look at. Only downside to the device is that it's not a dual band WiFi device. It will only run on the 2.4Ghz which works out fine for my setup ATM. I have the Chromecast on an older TV that supports 1080i, but the Chromecast will only run at 720P. Hopefully there will be updates that will provide more display options. For $35 you really can't go wrong, it's definitely worth the money. I may just picked up a 2nd to go for another TV. What's great is that even if I do buy just 2 I still saved money instead of buying that Roku 3 I was tempted to get.

This chrome Cast is amazing!! I use it stream Netflix to my daughters room and it saves me from getting a new cable box.

Bought this during one of the promo days of the past christmas season. Received delivery on date promised. Simple enough installation procedure. Works through Chrome browser to display device screen on TV. Wanted to stream certain stock trading screens that did real time updates using Java or Silverlight but was unable to do so - apparently one of the product's limitations. Otherwise, product performs as described.

Very easy to use and set up. Doesn't mirror whatever device you're using, but you can put your chrome browser page on to the screen (I mean what else do you need to mirror). The apps in place right now are good enough to get you up and going. I use Songza, Netflix and Youtube and they all work flawlessly! Highly recommended product for the price, the only thing that beats it is apple TV, but who wants to spend $109 to stream to your tv!

The Chromecast is a solid device. I have it plugged into the front aux HDMI input on my stereo receiver, conveniently powered by the USB port that is also found on the front of the receiver. It works great with my iPhone, but no so much with my computer. Streaming, or "casting" video from a computer tends to be laggy. But casting video from my phone while using an app that supports Chromecast works wonderfully.

This is a great product and it works really well. I have used it to stream from laptop and smartphone to my TV. It is really easy to use and does not lose any video or sound quality in the process. Really nice for people who do not care to pay $200 or more for a gaming console, it performs just as well without the hassle.
