This is simply an upgrade for me. This product does all of the same functions as the original. I gave three stars because of connectivity issues. The Google home app has a screen mirror option. Which causes things like video "lag". Then it will lose connectivity completely, requiring a restart. This also occurs when casting to my TV. Since this is the main reason I purchased this product, this is quite a downer. On the occasions when it works correctly, it does an excellent job. I do not have a 4K TV yet, so I cannot comment on its 4K picture quality. As far as how it works in concert with other peripherals, such as the Google speaker: The sound quality is good, but that is really dictated by the speaker. But the communication between these two devices is seamless, quick, and responsive. In my personal opinion, this product at present has not reached its full potential. I believe that there are many more uses yet to be discovered in the future for this device...

Ease of use. It can plug directly into Ethernet. You’re also able to control tv and video functions with your voice if you have any google home around.

Love the resolution, runs very very smooth, allthough i wish it were usb enable but at other than that, the pictures and the sound are on point, im loving it can't wait for 8K

Love my Chromecast. I have a 2nd gen chromecast in the bedroom and this new Ultra in the living to stream in 4k. So much easier than previous cast units owned...firestick, apple TV, and Roku.

easy to use, Plugged in and ready to go. Easy to install the casting apps on the smart phone. works will with 4K TV Picture and sound very good.

Easy to hookup to WiFi, able to hookup Ethernet cable if needed. Functionality is simple. Finding 4k content is rough. Expensive, try to get on sale.

I have used all versions of chromecast n this is the best by far. The connection is quick and seamless and the 4k support is amazing. Google has resolved most of the bugs in the previous chromecast versions. If you already have a smart TV , then I would suggest buying this over Apple Tv

This Ulta 4K replaced the standard Chromecast in out company conference room. It enables us to share presentation and swap out streams quickly and efficiently.

This works quite well and it's easy, fun and enjoyable to use.

Having used the previous version of chromecast Ive been waiting for one that was compatible with my 4k TV to come out. I love that I can watch my favorite videos and shows in 4k now :)

This little thing is awesome this new 4K casting device works great and looks awesome very light weight and easy set up is key.

The video quality is great streaming to my 4K TV! I love that the ultra gives you the ability to connect via Ethernet and allows a must faster and stable connection. Highly recommend!

Chromecast Ultra is the best for streaming! Makes it very easy to stream HBO Go, Youtube, music. Plus you can customize with your own pictures on the background!

I upgraded to this Chromecast to get 4k streaming. However, the screen mirroring is still not 4k even though it says it is. It's way too blurry and pixelated. Other than that, everything else seems to be 4k. Easy to setup.

A must buy for 4k TV owners who have a Chromecast and watch lots off the Google ecosystem (YouTube,Google Play).  Even the pictures displayed during in the backdrop is highest resolution when available. It's not much faster than Gen 2. It's also appears to be 866 AC vs 433 of the Gen 2. You can wire it, but wired appears to be 100mb/s not gigabit. 4k bluray content maxes out at 150mb/s, averages closer to 50mb/s. Streaming 4k is usually 50mb but I've seen as high as 90mb/s so it's not a deal breaker. All other aspects are identical to the regular CC which is a great product in itself. If you have 4k TV or want to wire up your CC this is worth it.

I wish that I had originally purchased this unit when it was first available. The addition of an RJ45 port to drive this device on your WIRED network instead of relying on WIFI is the "best" feature on this device. If you're WIFI is subpar then you absolutely should buy this unit to take advantage of the wired option. If you have a guest WIFI setup in your house and you plan on "casting" from your mobile phone to this unit while it's wired you may need to consider configuring our network to allow the wireless users to be on the same network as your wired users. If you have the chops to do networking you have a ton options here but using this on the wired network is 100% the way to go. Please also factor in that you if you want to use the wired option on this unit then you have to also have a network cable "danger close" to the unit to take advantage of the improved performance.

Good product look for a lot of people. Great 4k streaming

This chromecast is super fast. It also can take advantage of 5G networks and ethernet. Prefer this one over the original chromecast which only could take advantage of 2G networks.

It works as advertised. few things that I want to highlight that might help other buyers 1. Since this version of chromecast has seperate power supply even when you turn of the TV if you forget to stop streaming via youtube or netflix it keeps playing even TV is turned off, I wish it recognizes the TV is off and shuts down. 2. Make sure if you turn on HDMI UHD Color setting on in the TV settings to have chromecast play HDR content from youtube or netflix. 3. I prefer having a remote but as previous chromecast this uses phone as remote, at this price its annoying to keep using phone to play pause & scroll the video for fastforwarding and so forth. Also as previous chromecast the longer the phone is in sleep it looses connection to chromecast and makes play pause difficult.
