Best chromebook out there hands down

Lightweight and easy to set up - I bought this Pixelbook to replace my 2013 Macbook Pro and haven't looked back. Originally was interested in Chromebooks because honestly all I ever do is check e-mail and social media on my computer, maybe sometimes download a .pdf or two. Chromebooks were on my radar because they felt like they're not over-engineered for my purposes. I got the Pixelbook because of how lightweight it was, and now I can bring it with me everywhere I go without a second thought (versus lugging around a 6lb computer, where I didn't use most capabilities). Best of all, it uses the same charger as my cellphone, so I don't need to carry around the giant charging brick that Apple Macs usually come with.

I purchased this as a gift for my mom. Right out of the box there were only a few easy steps to follow for set up. She loves the Pixelbook and says it’s fast, light and easy to sync with her Pixel phone.

I love this laptop. I'm a big fan of Google as I have the Google Pixel 3 XL. It's nice to have a good phone and laptop. This laptop is fast and easy to navigate. I like how it's all Google based.

This pixelbook is the best investment I've made recently. As a recent college grad starting my first major job, I was looking for a 2-in-1 device that would give me the power to do artistic and design work and work on my writing without having to carry a ton of gear, while also giving me flexibility for travel and entertainment. This little device does it all with ease. It's super light and easy to carry, and it can easily run numerous applications at once, allowing me access to everything I need to keep up with my writing and art, even on the go. Seriously recommend this to anyone who likes to be able to work on the go, or likes to have access to entertainment at all times.

I have been using this device for a while as a secondary device. It's so lightweight and battery backup is good. I use some of the Linux features as well and I felt it's productive too...

Very powerful device - was very impressed as most ChromeBooks that I have used have been quite underpowered. Picked this up when it was $750 b/c, as great as it is, $1000 is hard to justify...

I ultimately ended up returning my Pixelbook but I liked it a lot while I had it. I returned it because I wanted to be able to use it with my virtualized desktop software my workplace requires and it's not the best experience. Using the Linux version of the software was much better, but installing Linux at the time required having the machine in developer mode and that's not an optimal situation, either. But as a convertible laptop for surfing the web and doing other basic tasks, I really liked this machine. The hardware is very good and the pen works well (in the apps that support it). It has enough power to run anything you'd want to do on a Chromebook in terms of having multiple Chrome tabs open and running Android apps. Once they improve the situation with Citrix virtualization software, I'd buy one again.

If you understand it's Chrome OS, outstanding

This is a Surface/MacBook quality product that runs ChromeOS. If you understand that, and ChromeOS meets your needs, it can't be beat. The current price drop makes it very compelling, with a great screen, pen support, super touch pad, and 2-1 features. It is a slick light, responsive laptop. The Chrome webstore is a bit thin, but you have access to the entire Google Playstore, so won't be lacking much in the way of apps. Being a Google product, you are assured updates. As long as you understand what ChromeOS is (not Windows, not Linux, not MacOS) you can't go wrong with the PixelBook. You can get cheaper Chromebooks, but you get exactly that; cheaper.

Great hardware, half-baked software

The Google PixelBook represents a great leap forward in the technology that surrounds Google's operating system, Chrome OS. It's hardware is excellent. It is metal and glass with an excellent high resolution display. It rivals a Macbook 12 inch or a Microsoft Surface Book in quality. If you were just purchasing the hardware I could make a positive recommendation. But it is the software where this laptop falls short. Chrome OS is just the portal to browsing the internet. You can accomplish about 80% of what you need to get done. But it is that other 20% where this device falls short. I had issues with the way it organizes the file system (transferring files and managing them. The other issue is that Android Apps, apps which you can download from the Google Play, are still not fully compatible. Basically, until the Chrome OS operating system gets better I would stay away from an expensive laptop like and go more towards the cheaper and still good quality ChromeBooks that range between 200 and 300 dollars

Over priced compared to other chrome books. But it is lightning fast. A little difficulty on set up with being use to a pc. Certainly not user friendly if trying to utilize a G-suite account. But no regrets on purchasing this item

I've had my pixelbook for about a month now and love it. It's fast and does everything I've needed. The only con I'd say it has is no USB port. Other than that it's awesome!

I have a love-hate relationship with my Pixelbook. There is so much I love - it is light, touchscreen, can be used as a pad, syncs with my phone, etc. BUT I have had so many problems with it since I purchased it in November 2018. I have had to call customer service at least 8 times. I have never had to call customer service even once for previous laptops. My current issues include that it will no longer print and the speakers will not work. I either get no sound out of them, or they will start randomly screeching even when I have nothing playing - which of course I wouldn't because the speakers don't work! Customer service can't do anything to help. They now want me to erase everything and reinstall the OS, but first I have to purchase a new flash drive because I only have SanDiscs and they apparently won't work with Pixelbook. Or I have to take it to UBreakItIfixIt to pay to have it repaired. After all of the issues that I have had with this product, they should be replacing it regardless of whether it is out of warranty. It has never worked properly but was always fixable with a call to customer service. Now I am stuck with this lemon without the capability to print, play anything with audio, and it also takes forever to turn on. Don't waste your time! Just get a Microsoft Surface.

The pixelbook is a monster of a machine that feels every bit as expensive as it costs. Using and holding the device best any other chromebook. The keyboard is rock solid and is fluid. The materials used in the housing are comfortable. The specs are still holding in 2019. Would recommend this chromebook to anyone who has the extra funds to splurge. I use this device as my home office computer and don't risk cosmetically damaging it by traveling to school and work with it. I bought a less expensive (But very much on par with the pixelbook chromebook) to do the back and forth.
