Customers are saying

Customers frequently mention the ease of use, excellent coverage, and straightforward setup of the Google Wifi AC1200 system. Many also praise the improved signal strength and extended range, resulting in better overall performance. While some users experienced connectivity challenges, the positive feedback on performance and ease of use outweighs these concerns. A few customers noted the system's higher price point.

I replaced my Securifi Almond 3 routers with the Google Wifi recently after a firmware upgrade apparently bricked the Securifi routers. Right away I noticed better coverage and better speed throughout my 3600 sq. ft. house. My only complaints with the Google Wifi is 1) lack of ethernet ports. Although, it isn't a huge deal since they provide solid wireless performance. I used to hardwire my video streaming devices (e.g. Amazon Fire Stick) but that isn't required with these routers and there is zero lag. 2) Lack of configuration option other than with the mobile app. It would be nice to use a browser to configure my routers like every other router I've ever owned.

Love this product my home connection has improved. Very easy set up and app walks you through the process. The app is very user friendly and allows you to pause wifi to certain devices ex: kids tablets.

I just recently purchased these Google Wifi mesh pods. Setup was easy and I have them spread out throughout our 2000+ sqft home (with lots of walls). Just make sure these items are positioned in an unobstructed area. Takes a little positioning on your part to make sure each one is effective. The Google app helps check the mesh network each time you repositon it. Connectivity is great, speeds match what our ISP is promising and really changed our internet speeds from the ones we had before (Apple Express port). What really separates this IMO is their app. Very easy to check stats, along with creating family setups, downtime, etc.

Quite possibly the best network/router system ever made. These units are powerful, provide over 300 mbps over WiFi and are incredibly easy to set up and extend your WiFi network.

The setup process is really simple. The combination of the three devices gave me the best coverage I’ve ever had at my house. The system is fast, reliable and I’ve never had to even reset it.

Very easy setup with the phone app. Once connected it's pretty fast. I like the mesh feature being able to add more of these around the house for better reception.

    Super-Easy Mesh Wi-Fi System

I purchased the Google Wi-Fi 3-pack about a year ago to replace an Arris combination modem/router that I had nonstop wireless connection issues with, and could never get to consistently work well with Chromecasts, despite many attempts and assistance from my networking engineer father. After about 12 months of use, I can say that this thing is the most plug-and-play, user-friendly piece of networking equipment that I've ever owned. The equipment comes in a very modern packaging with all the necessary cables included. In my case, 3 wireless access points, 3 USB-C power cables, and one ethernet cable to connect to your modem. Each of the three points are identical in appearance, though one will function as the "main point" and the other two will act as the mesh points. Each access point has a diameter of about 6 inches, and is about 4 inches tall. They have a thin led ring around the middle that glows blue if everything is functioning properly or red if there is an issue. This light can be disabled if desired. Setup on this takes literally a matter of minutes. You plug one of the access points into your cable modem via an ethernet cable and download the Google Wifi app on a smartphone. Once connected, it's a very simple step by step process to set up as many access points as you have, by scanning a QR code on the bottom of each one. While the 3-pack was overkill for my size of home (2000 sq ft.), it's nice to have the wireless coverage extend far into the backyard as well. The app will help you determine optimal placement of the access points, and within about 5 minutes, you'll be up and running. It will also run health checks and speed tests periodically to make sure your network stays working well, and Google automatically updates the firmware to protect against malicious networking flaws that plague traditional routers that require manual updates. The app doesn't offer nearly as much fine network tuning as traditional routers, but does offer customization of DNS settings, WAN settings (these are provided by ISP and shouldn't be tinkered with unless you know what you're doing), LAN settings, DHCP control (including IP reservations), Port Forwarding (TCP and UDP), IPv6 toggle, and UPnP toggle. I used to have connectivity issues with wireless devices, and especially with Chromecasts or "cast-enabled" devices like our Apple TV, which was my main motivation in purchasing this mesh system. Over the past year, I have had ZERO issues with wireless connectivity on any of my devices, and I typically have about 15 devices connected at at time. Even after unplugging and moving the main access point and modem to clean, they were back up and functioning within minutes of plugging them back in. All-in-all, this is a great network system for the masses of people that just want to plug it in, forget about it, and have fast and consistent wi-fi throughout their house without having to worry about every new router security exploit that the internet loses its mind about every few months. If you're the type of person that dives DEEP into your networking and needs an extreme amount of customizability, then you may want to keep hunting for a different solution, but for everyone else, this router is worth the money.

We have 4 people living in a 3-level home, with 4 cell phones, 3 smart TV's on which we stream shows, 4 PC's, 2 Chromebooks, and 3 gaming systems. We were having trouble connecting to Wi-Fi on the 2nd floor of the home, and our data costs were through the roof (without us realizing when Wi-Fi wasn't working). The Google Whole Home Wi-Fi System was recommended to us, and it works seamlessly! We placed the main router in the basement, with one connectivity point on the 1st floor, and the second connectivity point on the 2nd floor. Since installing this system, we have had no problems with being able to access Wi-Fi anywhere in the house. Sure saves on data charges too!

When our internet service was less than efficient we came to Best Buy for an updated router. We didn’t realize Century Link no longer allowed other dealers to sell compatible routers. The clerk said we would need to go to the Century Link store for one. When we went to their store front, it was empty!! I called them and got a message saying their voice mailbox was full. That was the last straw for us!! We researched other companies and signed up with a new service. That percepretated the need for this new router, we really like this new system and have excellent coverage throughout the 3,000+ sq. ft. home. We are very pleased!
