Customers are saying

Customers frequently mention the ease of use, excellent coverage, and straightforward setup of the Google Wifi AC1200 system. Many also praise the improved signal strength and extended range, resulting in better overall performance. While some users experienced connectivity challenges, the positive feedback on performance and ease of use outweighs these concerns. A few customers noted the system's higher price point.

I purchased a configuration of 3 units from Best Buy couple of weeks back and was waiting to get a hang of the product to write this review. (+) 1. Set-up time is very less ~ 5 mins 2. Set-up ease - pretty much straight forward with the app 3. Working - Very good and with app it is easy to set-up, define and categorize devices and networks 4. area of coverage is as per the spec 5. detailed explanation with tech info from Best Buy team during purchasing (which I guess is pretty much granted !!!) (-) 1. I have a protruding concrete structure in the middle of the room. Near here the signal seems to take a hit

Very easy set up and I can control my WiFi even if I'm not home which is a definite plus and I can see what devices are using the most data speeds and reroute it if I need to

Something about the walls and distance made Wi-Fi weak or inaccessible. This Google system provides fairly good internet speeds for the opposite ends of our home. The app is easy to use. It tells you the Wi-Fi status, connection speeds, and Wi-Fi password if you ever forget it.

Super easy to set up. Add as many nodes as needed to eliminate dead spots. Ethernet connections will double your speed. Wireless connection works great if wired is not possible.

This is exactly the product I have been looking for. My house with 3 floors had many Wifi dead spots before. No more dead spots in my house now. It is very easy to install.

I’d recommend this for anyone who has Google Fiber who was using the TV boxes for WiFi Turn that off and buy this instead. Yes it’s pricey but you’ll love the difference. I Wired the first i to the Google Fiber router I ran an Ethernet wire from the primary to the next WiFi puck (not required but it gives a major boost to the speed) Then downstairs i used the Netgear 2000 adapter that lets you plug in Ethernet and an outlet and wired the last luck that way downstairs. My home is a two floor 3000 sqft home and with this we see 280-450 Mbps speed anywhere in the house wired I believe without wired we were around 89-180 Mbps

This was purchased as a replacement for the dying Apple Air Extreme and couldn't be happier. It was simple to set up and one unit was able to cover a 2 story 1600 sqft home.

The An$wer To Your Distant Wireless Router

Due to where the cable source and cable modem is in on one end of our house, and other physical restrictions, our wireless router just wasn't cutting it. The Google mesh system works great and gives us excellent coverage, everywhere in the house (and outside), for a number of devices - several of which are heavy streamers. Best Buy had the best buy, at least $20 less than other online dealers. And we had it the next day, eliminating the need for a 100-mile round trip. All-around, excellent value and service. Oh, yeah - and no tech or tricks to getting your new network up and running.

The difference between the performance of my old router and this set up is night and day. This works so much better and is so much easier to control with the Google Wifi App.

I immediately noticed a vast improvement from my previous router. I don't have any dead spots in my 2500 square foot home, and even have coverage out to the street and abbot down the block.

The Google WiFi system I purchased was able to improve wireless range enough to allow video streaming in another building on the property. Mesh networking solved several hard to fix problems and even allows our neighbor to use it (with our permission of course). I am happy to have this system.

I have a small condo and these wi-fi "things" were the perfect solution. They were easy to connect and make wi-fi strong all over the condo. I would definitely buy again.

I have to admit that I was skeptical that a small cylinder placed over 3 spots in my decently large single family home would provide a good wifi coverage area over my $200 Netgear Nighthawk router, but it does. The "mesh" wifi signal is great and I no longer have any dead spots in the house.

I love this wifi mesh but I would keep reading if you are technical. If I didn't have my own external firewall device this would earn 5 stars easily. If you have an enterprise firewall at home that you do not want to (or can't for work) give up, then you may also have some problems with printing or internal connectivity due to the double NAT. The system does not support a mesh in bridge mode, so if you need that, consider this only 3 or four stars. If you don't know what this means, then consider the review five stars.

I don't know much about routers but I knew I needed something more than the basic wifi router provided by the internet provider for our house after adding a second floor. After talking with several tech friends, they all seemed supportive of this mesh network for basic needs. This has worked great with our Spectrum internet. I have one unit at the modem, one in the kitchen at the other end of the house and one upstairs. Connections are fast and strong everywhere. It is super easy to setup. I woudl definitely recommend for basic wifi needs for average households. We constantly stream and have no issues, even with multiple devices. I cannot speak to more advanced needs.

I can not speak to how it compares to Eero or the newer version of the Google Wifi Mesh, but this version does the job and gets solid coverage throughout the home and into the back of my detached garage where my office is, which is far enough that without a mesh network I would have no coverage. One tip is, if you can always run a CAT-5 cable between 2 of these to strengthen the one further from the main access point (or run a long cable to your computer and place the mesh router closer to the main point for better speeds.
