Customers frequently mention the ease of use, excellent coverage, and straightforward setup of the Google Wifi AC1200 system. Many also praise the improved signal strength and extended range, resulting in better overall performance. While some users experienced connectivity challenges, the positive feedback on performance and ease of use outweighs these concerns. A few customers noted the system's higher price point.

This router is great, it allows you to easily manage your network. You can set times for children's (or spouses) devices and then the internet will stop working. You can create temporary passwords for guest and tons of other easy to use features. Not to mention it is blazing fast (limited based off your ISP). I would recommend to friend or family member and would purchase again.

Was skeptical of the product at first, and pairing it with a new modem was a small investment. Well worth it, I’ve already recommend the product to two people that have purchased and loved it. After replacing my year old netgear modem/router for this unit I’ve seen a speed increase of 30mbps down and 5 up, hiccups and lag spikes are a thing of the past with this system.

Purchased this unit to replace our old (5+ YAO) router. Setup was quick and easy - plug in, download app, follow basic instructions.
They do exactly what you'd expect - they establish an effective mesh network that is capable of running all 3 dozen devices I have attached to it across 1500 SF of house, a detached garage, and most of a 1/2 acre lot.

Awesome Wi-Fi mesh. I do not have any dead zones in my entire house now while using the Google Wi-Fi mesh network. I can control peoples devices and shut them off when my kids do not listen through the Google Home control app on my phone. Well the backyard front yard and house I’ll have Wi-Fi where my old Comcast router did not give me Any good service

Coverage on a home of about 3000 SQ feet is very easily serviceable with this product. Speed does seem to drop as you connect to anything other than the main wireless unit. Overall very easy to use and has some useful features like bandwidth monitoring on wifi connected devices. New firmware allows you to forward ports if you need that option. Everything is controlled via a phone app, including the initial setup. As far as I can tell you'll need to create a google account if you do not already have one.

I have a 2000 sf old Victorian house with an office on the 3rd floor that my existing Comcast xfinity WiFi wasn't reaching consistently. Rather than futz with a repeater or ethernet over power device I decided to try Google WiFi. I've been in IT 15 years so my knowledge is extensive, however when it comes to my home tech I keep things simple. I just wanted something that works and didn't have to mess with. I decided on a mesh wifi system as my wife frequently roams around the house and I take calls over google voice so the connection needs to stay consistent.
Three things of note that I didn't see from other reviews.
1. If you are using your carrier supplies modem/router combo (or "gateway" as Comcast calls it) then you will need to enable bridge mode to pass on the connection and functionality to the Google system. If you don't do this, it won't work. Something they left out of their Instructions.
2. These do not work in a daisy chain formation as I expected. IE. I have the main unit in the living room, a 2nd unit on the 2nd floor and the last one in my office on the 3rd floor. I expected the 2md floor unit to repeat and amplify the signal for the 3rd unit, it that is not the case. They 2nd and 3rs floor units both connect directly back to the base unit. Google support suggested it was because it was close enough to the main unit that it didn't need to daisy, but I couldn't get it far enough away to test his theory. In any event, I only needed 2 units and I eliminated the 2nd floor one, and still have good coverage. Better than before. $300 better? Probably not.
3. I do have the occasional drop out. Can't figure out if it's when reconnecting to a new unit or not but the connection always comes back quickly. I haven't taken any calls while roaming or done extensive testing, but hopefully this doesn't become a problem.
Google support is good, though not that responsive for more complicated problems.
I sold the unnecessary 3rd unit to recipe some costs. It'd an expensive system but it is less than competitive mesh systems and I'm a Google fan boy so... It works.
Good luck!
