Customers are saying

Customers frequently mention the ease of use, excellent coverage, and straightforward setup of the Google Wifi AC1200 system. Many also praise the improved signal strength and extended range, resulting in better overall performance. While some users experienced connectivity challenges, the positive feedback on performance and ease of use outweighs these concerns. A few customers noted the system's higher price point.

I finally upgraded my router from some 10 year old hardware I’ve had laying around the house. The google Wifi router plugged right in, easily made a secure network, and connected to everything. It says that a single unit isn’t ideal for a large dwelling, however I’m getting constant speeds and no interruptions in every room.

My original router sucked. It was too far from my living room. I bought this and I have strong signal all thoughout my house. My house is 2159 sqft. I have the main router upstairs next to the modem. The other two I set up down stairs which makes a triangle of Wifi yumminess throughout my domicile.

I am glad someone is trying to create a true mesh network for home wifi. Google has made these little discs easy to set up and tie together. But, I would say they are still in their first generation of evolution and there are some tweaks I'd like to see. 1. Be aware that the design requires all of the routers to be within range of the primary router to create the mesh. This means that if your router is at one end of the house, you can't daisy your routers to extend your mesh to the other end of your property. A larger mesh is created if you are fortunate enough to have your primary router central and can put the others out and around like a spoke and hub. It would be superior if there was a way that the mesh could daisy the routers wirelessly to allow you to truly create an extended mesh network. 2. The app is easy to use but could use some enhanced features. One would be to allow you to allocate specific amounts of bandwidth to a given device. Currently the app allows you to "prioritize" a device which is not the same thing. Prioritize would allow you to select say your Apple TV while watching a movie so that it gets the bandwidth while you are using it. But this is a limited solution. If you for example you have a web cam set up somewhere, you might want to be able to gate it so that it never takes up say more than 1 Mbps of your upload bandwidth. Higher resolution cams can take a lot of pipe and if you access the camera remotely and it is feeding HD upstream, you can really congest your router. Being able to limit certain devices to "no more than" would be an excellent feature for Google to consider. I do like them and would recommend them but understand they could be better yet.

    Significantly Improved WiFi Signal

Our router was 3 rooms away from our living room so we purchased this device to up the WiFi signal. After a really easy installation (1 hour max), we doubled our download/upload speeds (to the speeds we're actually paying for). Definitely try moving the device to different corners of the same room as this made a real difference.

I live in a 5 bedroom colonial house. Bedrooms upstairs, main floor and finished basement. Lots of streaming, video games, tablets, laptops, and desk top computers. This purchase brought high speed WI-fi to every level of the house.

Let me start by saying I was skeptical of this setup, but reading reviews online decided to go for it. So some background. I have Spectrum Internet, with 100MB up and down, and a 2900 sqft one level house. My router is setup in a converted single garage on one side of the house. For the most part the internet coverage is good, but of course the further you go from the router the weaker the signal. So went for the 3 unit package. The setup was very easy. Attach one to the Spectrum router, install the app and follow the simple steps. Then, again using the app place each unit strategically through the house (don't worry the app will tell you the best place). After that, setup your Wi-Fi name and password and get connected. After testing the signal strength throughout the house I'm very impressed with the quality of signal. I've even taken advantage of the Ethernet port on each unit to "hard wire" my TV and Slingbox setup. No issues. You can create guest passwords for wireless access and create family deadzone times, when Wi-Fi gets cut off (not used this, wife would probably kill me). Overall, recommended for those with dead spots in a house.

Set up for this wifi router was very simple. The app is interactive and also easy to use. Would definetely recommend it. If you have a large house or coverage area you can also link them together and only one unit needs to be connected to the internet via cable.

I was suffering for years with different routers, extenders, etc. without find the right setup to have my home fully covered with good signal. I have a complex 2 floors long and narrow house. Now with this mesh wifi system I have perfect coverage in every corner of my house. Setup is extremelly easy. Very good product.

This system was super easy to setup. I am quite tech savvy and moved away from my netgear nighthawk router to this google system. I do miss being able to login on my pc to configure my network settings, but the seemless mesh network can't be beat. Super happy with my wireless network.

Have a 2 story home and couldn’t get internet service on 2nd floor. Installed google wi-fi and now we have great connection on 2nd floor. Easy install. Watch video first . Don’t like bright light from box so I had to move it out of my room and into loft but still get great service. Most definitely recommend.

Great consumer WiFi solution with minor glitches

It's a great consumer WiFI solution, it is. It's easy to setup, and painfree to maintain, provides a nice real-time view of all device traffic with history from 1day, 7day, 30day etc which I've found useful. I've had a few hiccups, adding new mesh AP's for example requires that you physically unplug any other wired AP's -- doesn't make sense. The status of Wired WiFi, vs Mesh WiFi, vs WiFi (3 discretely separate statuses reported on my app) is a bit confusing as well. It's lacking 3x3 or 4x4 spatial stream support, and it could be a little faster.

Setup took just minutes and immediately extended the range and covered gaps in our house. Having a brick bungalow with finished basement the thick walls really restricted the signal in certain areas and like the ability to plug in using ethernet cables to devices that need a cord still.

Our home is about 1500 square feet and the router we were using would cut off signal everywhere except in the office (that's were it was at). After installing this (which probably took about 20 min or so, all together), the speed is AMAZING!!!! This is so worth the money.
