    I bought the Zoom H6 to use for DSLR audio (actually for the audio that goes along with recorded video). I got a 10' cable so I can connect the Zoom to my Canon 6D mic-in jack. I'm currently using the Zoom's XY mic - which gives really great audio! I also bought a couple cheap mics (one Lav and one shotgun), but I bought cheap, and those aren't great quality (didn't buy the mics at Best Buy). It is really nice to be able to monitor your audio using headphones plugged into the Zoom. Syncing Zoom audio to the video clips is much easier than I feared it would be. I probably could have bought the H5 instead - and it gets great reviews also - but I wanted some expandability. The on/off switch and the menu toggle switch feel a bit flimsy, but the rest of the construction seems very solid. Controls are pretty intuitive even for an audio newbie like me.

    I owned the H4N & loved the sound quality on it but I must say this one just blows the H4N out of the water! It's definitely worth the cash to upgrade from the older models.
