Great color contrast with near oled quailty. Great for brighter rooms and gaming with a 144hz refresh rate. Great tv without the oled price tag.

Great Near OLED level black levels No risk of burn-in Very color accurate Very good sound for built-in speakers Bright enough for well-lit rooms No visible blooming Limited glare Fast built-in Fire TV Simple setup Includes EQ for adjusting sound Supports ethernet connection as well as Wi-Fi Alexa voice assistant is responsive Includes a powered USB-A port for other streaming devices Turns on fast Not so great Controller has small, indistinct buttons Controller buttons not visible in the dark Controller power button didn’t respond reliably Limited options for naming inputs TV sometimes lags in certain menus HDMI inputs close to the outer edge may cause routing issues Faint vertical band on left and right side with solid colors. Out of the box you will notice the TV is thicker than most TVs are now. It isn’t as thick as old-fashioned LCD TVs but a far cry from the ultra-thin OLEDs, but that comes with an upside. You don’t need to be concerned with burn-in. It also seems to offer more space for good speakers. You can install it using the included feet or a VESA mount for a wall. There is no HDMI cable included. Only the remote and feet. With Fire TV included setup is very simple. All settings are integrated into one interface, and it walks you through the setup. A surprising bonus is the inclusion of a ethernet port for those of you who either prefer hardwired connections or just want to eliminate any Wi-Fi issues. Besides the HDMI ARC port, there are 3 additional HDMI ports which is standard nowadays. What isn’t standard is an off-air antenna connection, SPDIF, compositive video in via stereo jack, and headphone jack. It is rare to see those as options on most modern TVs. If you want to use your own streaming device there is also a powered USB-A port. The ports are facing to the side of the TV, but they are close to the edge meaning you might have issues where your cables can’t bend enough to be fully hidden behind the TV. Smart TV OS 10/10 While some manufacturers like to create their own custom SmartTV OSes which are often slow and clunky Hisense, thankfully, opted for Fire TV. Right out the box it made setup simple, and all the major streaming platforms were available. The TV would turn on fast and be responsive each time. It must be said though that the remove sometimes misses button pressing for turning on and off. A bonus if you have Amazon Prime is Luna is also integrated. All you need to do is pair a Bluetooth game controller and you can stream games straight from your account. The interface was smooth and consistent. The only hiccup experience seemed to be when changing settings in Ambient mode. Sound 9/10 While the EQ profile needed some tweaking for our taste out of the box, the sound from the built-in speakers was surprisingly good. It was also nice that Hisense opted to include an actual EQ and not just treble and bass adjustments. Of course, it won’t compete with a dedicated sound system, but if you don’t care about surround sound and rumbling base the built-in speakers do a respectable job. It even has a subwoofer. While it won’t provide thumping bass it does provide more depth to the sound. The default sound profile seems to favor dialog, and that’s even before turning on dialog enhancement. In fact, our family felt it was too strong out of the box. It seems to have plenty of adjustment for those who have trouble understanding dialog. Screen 8/10 If you are thinking this would be a budget alternative that looks as good as an OLED panel you would be wrong but only if you can compare them side by side. It is close enough that the average person won’t be able to tell the difference if this TV wasn’t sitting right next to one. Blacks are very dark and it can display bright scenes right next to dark with no discernable blooming. With 1000 nits of brightness bright rooms are no problem. The glass seems to have a mild anti-glare, but you will still get some minor glare and reflections. The TV does even better in a dark room where it does not have to fight against ambient light and reflections. In fact, in our family the issue when the room was dark was the screen was too bright, almost hurting our eyes. It does have a light sensor as well as some adjustments up and down to suit your preference. By default, the automatic brightness seems too dim in bright rooms and too bright in dim rooms. Thankfully there are several methods to adjust it to your preference. When it comes to color accuracy you can tell things have improved greatly over the years. Particularly if you use FilmMaker mode the colors look correct and appropriate to the scene. No over saturated colors or blown out reds but what appears to be very color accurate. The one area that the panel has a small weakness is what some refer to as a dirty screen door effect. If a single color is displayed on the screen, such as white, you can see inconsistent bands of a darker version of the color and some faint blotches. Adjusting dynamic contrast reduces the effect. Thankfully, while it does have this weakness you are unlikely to see it while watching normal videos as any inconsistencies are invisible unless you display a single color across the entire screen. Final Thoughts For a budget-oriented mini-LED TV Hisense seems to have done a very nice job. While a budget TV comes with compromises it doesn’t feel like it in the case of this TV. If you are in the market for a budget mini-LED TV, then the Hisense U6 Mini-LED is worth considering.

Nice Hisense 55in AI Fire TV

Picked this up to replace an aging bedroom TV. I bought this primarily due to the Smart Fire TV being built in. This way you only have one cable, one plug. I used to have a Fire Stick on the TV but the cabling was always awkward. This solves that problem and does so in a great way. Typically, TV’s with onboard apps tend to struggle with performance as the TV’s processor lags in supporting some of the more common streaming apps. We love YouTube and YouTubeTV as our primary streaming service for all “channel” viewing. The Hisense Fire TV offers quick downloading of not only YouTubeTV, but all our favorites such as Netflix, Disney+, Hulu, Paramount+ and others. This Hisense TV is the newer U6 Class that has the mini-LED for millions of colors. It has a 144Hz refresh rate with something they call “AI Smooth motion”. It helps to ensure sharp and crisp pictures that are free of blur and lag. It also includes full HDR support via turning on “Intelligent HDR”, which is also now AI driven. To customize the picture, the TV gives you a solid array of options. By clicking the Options/Gear Icon and going down to Picture, you can select a wide range of options to calibrate the brightness, color, motion, and contrast. What I liked about it was the level of detail that Hisense gives you. I was able to update the picture mode to presets like “Sports” or “Film” -which automatically tweaks the frame rate appearance, color, brightness, etc to the optimal presents for a sporting event or movie. However, I was also able to go into Advanced Settings and play around with picture settings even further. One of the things I love the most is the fast processor speed when I turn on the TV. In my old Panasonic, I had to get a fire stick for faster processor speed because the TV itself took over 30 secs to load apps and lagged as I toggled from one streaming app to another. The Hisense has zero lag, loads up instantly and processes commands very quickly without the need of a physical streaming device/separate processor. One thing that took getting some used to is the volume bar, which is very subtle and appears at the top. Ultimately this is better for less visible intrusions to your game, movie or show, but it’s different. Most volume bars are at the bottom (over the scoreboard) or on the left side of the screen. Physically the TV is a bit thicker than I was expecting and a little heavier than I expected but I think sometimes you sacrifice sound and processor quality with a razor thin screen. This was the only surprising and somewhat disappointing for the TV, this also caused the weight to be a bit more than expected. The two stand pieces were easily installed and mounted. This TV represents the usual quality that I have become to expect from Hisense. It’s very interesting to me that I now have 3 Hisense TV’s in my houses, not the normal brands one thinks of and guess what, they perform as well as better, especially at the price point. I would recommend this to anyone. I am giving this 5 stars ( barely), only because I love the built-in Fire TV but I think the thickness and weight of it could be improved based on my other Hisense TV’s.

Quick Setup The installation of the TV was a breeze; I powered it on and followed the on-screen prompts. After a couple of system updates, the unit was fully operational in just a few minutes. The Fire TV OS offers a snappy and intuitive navigation experience, featuring personalized recommendations and voice control through Alexa compatibility. I can easily access top streaming services, including Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, Hulu, Max, YouTube, Apple TV+, Peacock, and Paramount+, all from the home screen. The TV has 4 HDMI ports. Stunning Picture Quality This TV delivers every scene with sharp clarity and crisp detail, making movies and sports broadcasts come to life like never before. Additionally, the inclusion of High Dynamic Range (HDR) support for multiple formats, such as Dolby Vision, ensures vivid contrast and lifelike colors across a diverse range of content. This combination creates an immersive viewing experience that captivates audiences. The Mini-LED QLED Panel combines quantum-dot color technology with mini-LED backlighting, resulting in exceptional brightness and color accuracy. With Full Array Local Dimming, the backlight zones can dim independently, which boosts contrast and deepens blacks without compromising detail in darker scenes. The display features a 144Hz refresh rate and Motion Rate 480, ensuring that fast-paced sports and action movies remain blur-free and fluid, even during rapid camera pans. Additionally, the AI 4K Upscaler enhances non-4K sources by intelligently adding clarity and reducing noise, making older content look impressively sharp on the 55" screen. This TV is highly recommended.

I upgraded to this Hisense 55" TV and have been impressed so far! I have the TV positioned in my living room with lots of natural light from a large window, but have not had issues with the brightness so far. Viewing angles are not the best but it is negligible for me personally since my couch layout provides a head-on viewing experience. Sound on the model itself is serviceable, but I have a soundbar connected via a digital audio cable and I have not noticed any audio delay which was a major problem with my previous TV! My primary use for this TV is playing on my PS5 and for that I have nothing but high marks - with the proper modern HDMI cable, this TV allows my PS5 to run at both 1440p and full 4K resolutions with HDR. The VRR mode combined with the TV's automatic low latency game mode also work like a charm!

This model is a big upgrade from last year’s version. The native refresh rate and the screen brightness was something that was only found on much more expensive models, but is now available on affordable tvs like those one. The picture is good and the tv feels like it’s built well. The only issue I’ve had is that sometimes I have to restart it to get certain apps to works, but I have to do that with just about every other device too. Amazing how good the quality of tvs have gotten and how affordable they are.

Great budget price television. Picture quality and brightness is very similar to my 2023 U7K. If it had the google operating sysyem i would give it a 5/5. The fire tv doesn't let you tweak th tv settings as well as the Google interface. Has quality sound though. If you can afford the extra mone go for the u7qg. It is much brighter and has google tv.

I picked up this Hisense 55” U6 Series TV during a sale and I couldn’t be happier. The Mini-LED and QLED combo really makes the colors pop, and the contrast is outstanding—blacks are deep and the brightness is perfect for both day and night viewing. Setup was super easy, and Google TV runs smoothly with all my favorite apps. It’s great for movies and casual gaming. The sound is decent, but I added a soundbar and it took the experience to another level. If you’re looking for a 4K TV that delivers premium picture without the premium price tag, this one’s a no-brainer. Would definitely recommend!

I use a large format tv as a monitor for my computer... the 67 inc lg i was using for 10 years finaly died.. when i went in to best buy i presented a list of myvrequirments.... a highbrefresh rate for gaming...4k and at least 55 inches.... and a price tag that a mear mortal can afford.. i was shown a number of units and finaly settled on thisbone.. and im not disapointes... the 4k resolution is fantastic. The colors are amazing and im able to see details i wasnt able to see on my previous display... hdr10 support makes my games pop with color and details ive never seen before... the firestick capabilites are a nice bonuse... i personaly dont use them as i have a medi center in my livingroom for such things... but still a nice interface for those that need or want those smart functions... the price for performance for this is amazing and i do not regret my choice

I am so happy that I selected this Smart Fire TV! Thank you Saffi Sarwary for processing my purchase and delivery. Purchased on sale for just shy of $500 and at that price, I could not be happier with this TV. The picture quality is excellent, and the user interface is smooth and easy to use. I was prepared to buy a soundbar to go along with it, but for my casual sports watching and gaming, the sound quality is much better than expected and I’ve not needed a soundbar at all. The TV handles glare incredibly well despite my having it placed right next to a window. No complaints. Anyone who just wants a quality TV and doesn’t need the top tier, $1000+ models should be more than satisfied with this model.

You’ll be hard pressed to find another tv at this price point with this high caliber of picture quality. Movies look fantastic, sports look great, and it has all the gaming features you could want for a tv (4k at 144hz, VRR, etc), plus the eARC port isn’t using one of the 4k 144hz HDMI ports. Just an excellent tv.

I got the 55 inch Hisense and I honestly love it so far. Setup was easy and adding apps was simple, you can download what you actually use without a bunch of steps. The picture quality is really good, everything looks clear and colors pop nice. The remote works super fast too, there’s no lag when switching apps or looking through settings which I like a lot. Even when searching stuff it moves quick and smooth. The sound is good too, louder then I expected and don’t really need a sound bar unless you just want one. Overall it’s been a great TV, easy to use, looks great, and does everything I need it to without any hassle.
